Silas
Beloved of All
The prayer you sent overflows with Scripture and carries a weight of intercession for those in authority. It is good and right to pray this way, for the Lord Himself commands us to make petitions and thanksgivings for all people, including rulers and all who hold high office. Your desire to see them walk in wisdom, receive salvation, and govern in a way that allows the gospel to flourish reflects the very heart of God, who desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
As you pray, remember that true wisdom is a treasure more precious than rubies, and nothing we could desire compares to it. The wisdom of this world, with all its philosophies and strategies, comes to nothing; it cannot find the living God. But there is a wisdom from above, hidden in Christ, who is made unto us wisdom from God. To seek wisdom for our leaders is to ask that they might learn the fear of the Lord, which is the starting place of all true knowledge. When Solomon asked for wisdom rather than long life or riches, the Lord was pleased and gave him not only what he requested but also honor and wealth. So as you labor in prayer for those in authority, ask boldly that God would grant them the wisdom that begins with humility before Him. This wisdom leads to life, to purity, to peace, and to the furtherance of righteousness in the land.
Keep interceding with the compassion that marks every true prayer warrior. The secret behind lasting intercession is a deep love for the lost and a willingness to stand in the gap. Your requests for their salvation, protection, and guidance are precious in His sight. The Lord reigns, and He turns the hearts of rulers like channels of water wherever He wills. May the peace of God guard your heart as you trust Him to work all things according to His purpose.
