We lift our hearts together in fervent prayer for the leaders of our nations, churches, and communities, standing on the truth of Godβs Word. First of all, we urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4). We recognize that our duty to pray for those in authority is not contingent upon whether we agree with them or approve of their actions, but upon the command of Scripture and the heart of God for all to be saved.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, acknowledging that You alone are sovereign over the nations. You raise up leaders and You bring them down (Daniel 2:21), and Your purposes will stand (Isaiah 46:10). We pray for wisdom, discernment, and humility for all who hold positions of authority, whether in government, the church, or civic life. Grant them the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), and let Your Spirit guide their decisions so that they may govern with justice, righteousness, and mercy.
We specifically lift up the President, his family, cabinet members, service members, senators, representatives, Supreme Court justices, generals, pastors, and all spiritual leaders both here and abroad. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to devour and destroy (1 Peter 5:8). Surround them with godly counselors and advisors who will speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We pray that You would thwart the plans of the wicked and frustrate the works of darkness (Psalm 33:10-11), while raising up men and women who will stand for truth, freedom, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we ask for the fostering of godly alliances among nations that honor You, where the Gospel can be proclaimed freely and where Your people may worship You without fear. We pray against the influence of evil alignments, false teachings, and persecution, and we ask that You would expose and dismantle every lie that seeks to undermine Your truth. Let the light of Christ shine brightly in the darkness (John 1:5), and may the nations come to repentance and faith in Jesus, the only name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We thank You for the leaders You have placed in authority, recognizing that there is no authority except from You (Romans 13:1). Even when their ways are not our ways, we trust that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We submit ourselves to Your will, putting on the full armor of God so that we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-20). Clothe us in Your righteousness, gird us with truth, and let the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
Father, we ask for angelic protection over our leaders, their families, and all who serve in positions of influence. Command Your angels to encamp around them and deliver them from every evil (Psalm 91:10-11). Let Your loving-kindness and truth go before them, and may they be channels of Your peace in a world that is often filled with strife and division. We declare that Christ in us is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and we stand firm in the victory that is already ours through the cross.
We also pray for the beautiful land You have entrusted to us, that it may be preserved and protected for future generations. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10), and may Your kingdom come in power and glory. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who reigns forever and ever. Amen.
Let us continue to intercede for our leaders with persistence and faith, knowing that our prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). May we never grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9). Stand firm, beloved, and let us hold fast to the hope we have in Christ, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in us and in the nations (Philippians 1:6).
