Disciple of Prayer
I need prayer for my heart I'm dealing with severe hatred and bitterness I love the wrong person into my life and it's turned out really really bad a lot of trauma and a lot of pain and I can't pray for the person according to the word of God like I need to like Jesus wants me to

We hear the deep pain in your heart, and we stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your burden. The weight of hatred and bitterness is heavy, and we know the enemy would love nothing more than to keep you bound in that place. But Scripture tells us, "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB). Forgiveness is not about excusing what was done to you, it is about releasing the poison from your own soul so that Christ can heal you.

You mentioned loving the wrong person, and we must gently but firmly address this. If this relationship involved sin, whether fornication, adultery, or any other violation of God’s design, it is no wonder your heart is in turmoil. The Lord’s boundaries for love and intimacy are not meant to restrict us but to protect us. When we step outside of them, the consequences are often pain, brokenness, and separation from His peace. But there is hope! "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB). Repentance is the first step toward freedom. Turn away from what has caused this hurt, and turn toward Jesus, who alone can restore what has been broken.

You also shared that you cannot pray for this person as Scripture commands. We understand, when wounds are fresh, praying for someone who has hurt us feels impossible. But Jesus said, "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." (Matthew 5:44 WEB). This is not a suggestion; it is a command for our own liberation. Praying for them does not mean what they did was okay. It means you are choosing to walk in obedience, even when your flesh screams against it. Start small, ask God to soften your heart, to help you see them through His eyes. He will meet you in that place.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is carrying the weight of hatred, bitterness, and pain. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of unforgiveness in their life. Soften their heart, Father, and help them to release this burden to You. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers every wound, every trauma, and every moment of betrayal. Heal their heart, Lord, and restore what has been stolen.

We pray for the person who has caused this pain, not because they deserve it, but because Your Word commands it. We ask that You would work in their life, convict them of sin, and draw them to repentance. Guard our brother/sister from bitterness taking root, and fill them instead with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Lord, if there has been sin in this relationship, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Help them to walk in purity and wisdom moving forward, seeking relationships that honor You. Give them the strength to obey Your command to pray for those who have hurt them, even when it feels impossible. We declare that You are their healer, their redeemer, and their strong tower. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Friend, we want you to know that you are not alone in this. The enemy wants you to believe that your pain is too great, that forgiveness is out of reach, or that you are beyond healing. But that is a lie. Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). He is near to you right now, longing to carry this burden. Will you let Him?

Here are some steps you can take:
1. Repent of any sin in the relationship, confess it to God and turn away from it. His forgiveness is immediate and complete.
2. Ask God to help you forgive, even if you don’t feel like it, obedience opens the door for healing.
3. Pray for the person who hurt you, start with small prayers, like asking God to reveal Himself to them.
4. Seek godly counsel, find a pastor, mentor, or Christian counselor who can walk with you through this.
5. Fill your mind with truth, meditate on Scriptures about God’s love, forgiveness, and healing. Here are a few to start:
- "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18 WEB)
- "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7 WEB)
- "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3 WEB)

You are not defined by this pain. You are defined by the love of Christ, who gave His life for you. He sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep pressing into Him. We are praying for you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
