Disciple of Prayer
I need prayer for my current relationship/ with a man we've had issues in the past but I still love him I pray that he loves and wants me to pray that we can get together and have a blessed beautiful committed relationship together and we both work to build something together ❤️

We hear the longing in your heart, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting up your desire for a godly and committed relationship. First, we must address the foundation of any relationship, it must be built on Christ. Jesus tells us in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." If either of you does not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we must start there, for apart from Him, no relationship can truly thrive or honor God. Salvation is the first step, and we pray that if either of you has not surrendered your life to Christ, that you would do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Now, regarding your relationship, we must speak truth in love. The Bible is clear that marriage is the only context in which a man and woman should pursue a committed, intimate relationship. Hebrews 13:4 says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." If you and this man are not married, any sexual intimacy outside of marriage is sin, it is fornication, and it grieves the heart of God. We must rebuke this gently but firmly, for your protection and his. God’s design is for purity, and His ways are for your good. If you have been intimate outside of marriage, we encourage you to repent, seek forgiveness, and commit to living in holiness from this point forward.

We also want to encourage you to examine your heart and this relationship through the lens of Scripture. Is this man a believer who loves the Lord and seeks to honor Him? 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" If he is not a follower of Christ, this relationship cannot be blessed by God, no matter how much you love him. We must pray for his salvation first, and for God’s will to be done in both of your lives.

If he is a believer, we must ask: Is he committed to marriage, or is he leading you in a way that is not honoring to God? Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord." Marriage is a covenant, not just a relationship. If he is not ready or willing to pursue marriage with you in a way that honors God, we must pray for clarity and wisdom for you. God may have someone else for you, a man who will cherish you, lead you spiritually, and commit to you as Christ commits to the Church (Ephesians 5:25).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister and her desire for a godly relationship. Lord, we ask that You would first draw her and this man to Yourself. If either of them does not know You as Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them, that they would confess Jesus as Lord and be saved. Father, we ask for Your will to be done in this situation. If this relationship is not of You, we pray for the strength to let go and trust You with the future. If it is Your will for them to be together, we pray that You would bring them into alignment with Your Word, purity, commitment, and marriage.

Lord, we rebuke any ungodly patterns in this relationship. We ask that You would convict hearts where there is sin, whether it be fornication, emotional unfaithfulness, or a lack of commitment to Your design for marriage. Father, we pray for healing from past hurts and for wisdom to move forward in a way that honors You. If this man is not the one You have for her, we pray for the courage to release him into Your hands and to trust You with her future.

We ask that You would surround her with godly counsel and community, Lord. Give her peace that surpasses understanding as she seeks Your will. And if it is Your plan for them to be together, we pray that You would prepare their hearts for marriage, that they would build their relationship on the foundation of Christ, and that You would bless them with a union that reflects Your love for the Church.

In all things, Lord, may Your name be glorified. We ask this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this season. Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers who can speak truth into your life. If this man is not willing to pursue marriage in a way that honors God, we must trust that God has something better for you. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Delight in Him first, and He will guide your steps. If you need further counsel, we are here to walk with you.

Your heart is broken, and we see that grief woven through every line you wrote. Loving someone when the future of the relationship feels so uncertain is a lonely, exhausting place to be. That longing for a committed, beautiful life together is real, and the ache of not knowing whether he feels the same way can press in sharply.

One thing we know from walking with people in similar pain is that commitment isn't just a feeling someone catches, it's a willful choice that both people make and keep making over time. When the commitment feels one-sided, the person carrying more hope often ends up anxious, trying to read every signal or fill in the gaps with wishful thinking. You deserve clarity, not confusion. You deserve someone who is not only loved by you but who consistently, unmistakably chooses you in return.

A concrete next step might be to give yourself some quiet space to ask a few honest questions: Has this man actually told you, in plain words and steady actions, that he wants the same future you do? Or are you carrying hope for both of you? Sometimes our love for someone can fill in the blanks so loudly that we can't hear what they are really saying, or not saying. A relationship that truly builds something sturdy requires two people laying bricks together, not one person sketching blueprints alone while the other stands at a distance. There is no shame in naming what you genuinely need rather than what you're anxiously wishing for.

We also want to gently encourage you not to carry your worth inside his response. You are already fully known and fully loved by God, apart from this man's feelings. That truth doesn't erase the pain, we know it doesn't, but it can be a steady anchor while you navigate what comes next.

Lord Jesus, hold this dear woman close as her heart aches. Quiet the anxious what-ifs and give her a clearer vision of what real, mutual love looks like. Protect her from settling for less than wholehearted commitment, and give her courage to face the truth, whatever it is. Heal the wounded places within her, and grant her wisdom and peace that go deeper than her present circumstances. In Your name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen.

The piteous moan of a broken heart rises to the ear of mercy. Yet, very closely allied to the grief which you now feel is a greater spiritual blessing, a heart broken on account of sin. Sometimes the sorrow that springs from earthly affection leads up to the contrition of heart which God will not despise. Best of all, as the Healer of broken hearts, the Lord has chosen One whose own heart was broken. Bring your poor shattered affections to the heart that was once pierced by the soldier’s spear, and find sweetest rest in Jesus.

I would have you search the root of this anguish. When a heart is estranged from its first love, its ease cannot long continue. How often does the Lord break the bones of our false peace to drive us from our iniquities. Is it not possible that this love of yours has become a barricade, shutting out the light of His countenance? If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. You speak of a beautiful committed relationship, but mark what God requires: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart. Have you done that? The righteousness which the law demands must be perfect. A single snapped link lets the cage fall.

Yet there is an abundance of healing power in Christ. The very leaves of the Tree of Life are for medicine. A word of His, coming home to the heart, brings healing to head and conscience, desire and affection. You long for a love that understands; I tell you the Lord remembers the love of our espousals. Though we play the harlot, His gracious heart overflows. He does not forget His own lovingkindness. But be not deceived, He desires your whole heart. The plaint of love is heard when He complains that we have brought Him no sweet cane. To love Him is the chief thing. It is our love that Christ longs for above everything else.

The stone wall of your integrity of heart may be broken down and all sorts of mischiefs seeded within. But He who broke can also bind up. That the bones which He has broken may not merely grow quiet, but may rejoice. Turn your eyes from the broken column of a human hope to the chariot of His mercy, which is paved with love for such as you. My heart says, “If it is not broken, break, and heal it if it be.” A spiritually broken heart, emptied of self, is the dark cavern where the demon Despair would make his abode; resist him. Fling yourself wholly upon the Covenant God who declares, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” Let your love embrace the Well-Beloved. Look into His face and enquire, “Was there ever another heart so tender, so kind, as His?” Then will you sing with uprightness of heart when you have learned His righteous judgments.

Father, we lift her and her relationship to You. Heal past wounds and restore what has been broken. If it is Your will, unite them in a blessed, committed relationship built on love and mutual effort.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

- *"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."* (1 Peter 4:8)

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

A broken and a contrite heart God will not despise. You weep, and that sorrow is not lost on Him who sees every tear. But look closely at what you seek. You pray for a man’s love, that he might want you, that you might build something together. I ask you: is this a love rooted in hearing the commandments of Christ? For if it be not anchored there, no worldly thing can make it firm. Love that is merely for the sake of being loved, when trials come, dissolves. True love, the sort that endures affliction and temptation, is born of obedience to the Father and the Son. It does not rise up in demands, but is quiet, ready to be ill-treated, not eager for vengeance. That is the heart that God does not despise.

Consider the Apostle: he withstood fire and sword, yet tears broke him. Why? Because his love was according to Christ, a spiritual bond. He owed love to his brethren because they were members one of another, and he feared a plague among them. So too you must ask whether this relationship is of the Spirit or of the flesh, whether it binds you closer to God or pulls you away. If there have been issues in the past, examine them. Are they such as would make a wall between you and the Lord? For if we love one another for Christ’s sake, nothing can tear us asunder; but if the root is earthly, loss, insult, envy will sever it.

You desire a blessed and committed union. A blessed union is one where both submit to the commandments without wavering. It is not merely a good feeling, but a mutual building in virtue. Do not think that because you feel love, the matter is settled. Even the Jews said “we know,” yet they rejected the works of the Lord before their eyes. Test this by the rule of the gospel: does this love lead you toward humility, purity, and peace, or toward anxiety and a breach of God’s law? I do not say to cease loving, but to love in a way that will not crumble. Commit the matter to prayer with a contrite heart, and let your first desire be to please God. If the man will join you in that, there is hope; if not, beware of building on sand. The Lord allows afflictions for our discipline, but He never forsakes those who cling to Him. Make room for Christ in your heart, and He will not leave you comfortless.

What hasn't changed: • I've still been complaining a bit, more so about how hot it is, or if I get cold from the wind then I complain about that. Not as much as before, but it's still a tiny bit there. Or if someone brings up "oh, this hurts", I tend to be like "oh this of mine hurts". • I'm...
