Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire to spend more quality time with the Lord is at the very heart of why you were created. God made you and me for fellowship, to share in His love and goodness and grace, and that fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful thing to be able to say you are living in fellowship with God.
There is a difference between simply believing that God exists and truly living in a vital, life changing relationship with Jesus. Scripture says in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and all things were made by Him. Jesus is the faithful witness of what God is. He said that to have seen Him is to have seen the Father. So when you spend time with Jesus, you are spending time with God Himself, coming to know Him as He truly is.
God dwells in eternity and is outside of time altogether. He sees the beginning and the end in one glance. For Him a thousand years are as yesterday when it is past, as a watch in the night. Our time here, by contrast, is very short, carried away as with a flood, like a sleep that soon passes. That is why the time you give to Him now is so precious. To choose to make Him your dwelling place, to have your life hidden with Christ in God, is the most secure and fruitful use of the brief days we are given.
Quality time with Him is not only about quantity, but about the quality of life that comes from Him, a life that reaches beyond time into eternity. It grows as you walk with Him in sweet communion through the Holy Spirit, as you let His Word refresh your mind and heart, and as you come directly to the Father through Jesus Christ.
I pray that the Heavenly Father will draw you into deeper fellowship in the name of Jesus Christ. May He strengthen you to walk with Him, to abide in His presence, and to know the riches of being His child and a joint heir with Christ. May the Holy Spirit keep you in the love of Jesus, help you to redeem the time you have been given, and lead you into that blessed communion where you truly know Him and are known by Him.
