more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this holy desire to spend more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very heart of what God calls us to. It is a beautiful thing to hunger for His presence, and we join with you in asking our Heavenly Father to deepen and increase that fellowship.

Scripture tells us that God delights when we seek Him with our whole heart. Jeremiah 29:13 says, You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. And James 4:8 promises, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Your longing itself is evidence of His Spirit drawing you closer.

We are reminded to seek Him first above all else. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Psalm 27:4 expresses this same longing, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. To spend quality time with Jesus is to abide in Him, as John 15:4 says, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.

We encourage you to be intentional in guarding this time. Even Jesus Himself modeled this when Mark 1:35 tells us, Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. We encourage you to set apart a quiet and consistent time each day, free from distraction, to be still before Him, for Psalm 46:10 says, Be still, and know that I am God. In that stillness, let His Word dwell richly in you, for Psalm 119:105 says, Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Let your time include prayer, worship, thanksgiving, confession, and simply listening for His voice through the Scriptures.

We join our faith with yours and pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for placing this hunger in our dear brother or sister’s heart to spend more quality time with You. We ask that You help them to draw near to You daily and to abide in Christ continually. Give them discipline and delight to seek You early and to remain in Your presence throughout the day. Quiet every distraction and make their heart still to hear Your voice. Let Your Word come alive to them and let prayer become sweet communion rather than duty. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, renew their strength, and transform them as they behold the beauty of Jesus. Help them to love Your presence above all else and to bear much fruit as they remain in the vine. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We appreciate you sharing this longing to spend more quality time with Jesus. It is a beautiful prayer and we join you in it.

We have found that time with the Lord grows more like training than trying. Trying hard for a big moment can leave us discouraged, but small, regular time together builds something steady over months and years. Even a few quiet minutes offered consistently can shape us more than an occasional long effort.

One simple way to lean into this is to choose a small, sustainable rhythm rather than a large goal. Perhaps pick one set time and place each day, even ten or fifteen minutes, where you can be undistracted. Keep it simple, maybe a short reading and honest prayer, and let that pattern take root before adding more. If you miss a day, just return the next without guilt, seeing yourself as a work in progress whom God is patiently forming.

We are praying for you as you seek Him.

Father, thank You for the hunger You have placed in our friend for more time with You. Draw them close as they seek You, give them wisdom to protect that time, and make their fellowship with Jesus deep and real. Help them to know Your nearness each day. In Jesus name, amen.

Your desire to spend more and more quality time with the Lord Jesus Christ is a gracious sign that He Himself is drawing you, for no heart longs for His company unless His Spirit has first created that hunger.

We rejoice with you in this holy aspiration and we join our prayer with yours before the Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ, that He would increase your communion with Him day by day.

The Scripture saith, In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Let your seasons alone with Him never be mere asking, but let every prayer be perfumed with praise. Though your prayer should struggle upward out of the depths, let its wings be silvered over with thanksgiving, and that conscious calm, that divine serenity, shall be yours as you wait upon Him.

Remember also that the Lord Jesus is thoughtful of your need and He saith still, Come and break your fast. He spread for His disciples bread with fish, pleasant and easy to receive, and He spreads the same for you. It is of great importance that you have a feast with Jesus, not a hurried word but a meal, a sitting down to hear His voice in the Word and to speak with Him in prayer. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight. You need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus, and that stamina comes from this daily breaking of bread with Him in the secret place.

And when you are in prayer alone, never be satisfied with having prayed. Do not give it up till you have touched Christ in prayer, or if you have not got to Him, sigh and cry until you do. A mere form will not suffice. As the woman pressed through the crowd to touch the hem of His garment, so press through all distraction and weariness until you have real contact with Jesus Himself. Even a touch, even a glimpse, brings healing and life, but oh, seek to abide with Him, to linger in His presence.

Bring to Him also your hard questions. Prove Him with the harder matters, the burdens you scarce dare utter. There is no question too hard for Jesus to answer, no doubt too deep for His wisdom, no load too heavy for His shoulder. He invites your everyday cares and your greatest trials alike.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank Thee that Thou hast put into this heart a longing for more of Christ. Grant, we beseech Thee, more and more quality time with Jesus. Draw this dear soul to the secret place, keep the door of communion open, and teach the art of waiting upon Thee with thanksgiving. Spread Thy table and feed this hungry heart with the bread of life. Grant real and living contact with Thy Son, that faith may touch Him and be renewed. Give grace to watch and pray, to persevere and not faint, and let the peace of God keep heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Make the time with Him the joy and strength of each day, and conform this life more and more to His likeness. This we ask in the precious Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
