more quality time with Jesus Christ

We join with you in this beautiful and holy desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, and we rejoice that the Holy Spirit has placed this hunger in your heart, for this is the will of our Heavenly Father for each of us.

We are reminded in scripture to be still, and know that I am God in Psalm 46:10, and that as we draw near to God, he will draw near to us in James 4:8. Your longing to be with Him is itself evidence of His drawing you, for Jesus said in John 15:4, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. True quality time with Him is not merely a duty but abiding, remaining, communing with Him through His Word and prayer. We are promised in Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart, and in Matthew 6:33 we are taught to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for this dear one who desires to know You more intimately. We ask that You help them to spend more and more quality time with You, to hunger and thirst for Your presence above all else. Draw them into the secret place, quiet their heart from distraction and busyness, and teach them to be still before You. Help them to establish a consistent time each day to meet with You in prayer and in Your Word, which is a lamp to their feet and a light for their path in Psalm 119:105. Fill that time with Your Holy Spirit, speak clearly through the scriptures, and let them hear the gentle voice of the Shepherd. Give them discipline and joy to rise early as Jesus did to pray, and to redeem the time throughout the day to turn their thoughts to You without ceasing. Let their fellowship with Jesus Christ grow sweeter and deeper, that they may bear much fruit and be transformed into His likeness. We ask this in the Name above all names, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to guard this desire diligently. Set apart a specific time and a quiet place each day where you can be alone with Him, free from distractions, and come with your Bible open and your heart expectant. Begin with thanksgiving and worship, pour out your heart honestly in prayer, and then linger in the Word, reading slowly and meditating on it, allowing Him to speak. Remember also that quality time is not measured only by minutes but by the heart's posture of remaining in Him throughout the day, turning to Him in short prayers, in worship, and in obedience. As you are faithful in the little, He will enlarge your capacity and your delight for His presence, for He desires fellowship with you even more than you desire it with Him.

We are so encouraged by your desire to spend more quality time with Jesus. That hunger to be with Him is a good and beautiful thing, and we are glad to join you in praying for it.

We know how easily the day fills up and that time can get crowded out even when we want it most. What tends to help more than trying to do a lot at once is choosing one small, steady space and protecting it. It can help to pick the same time and place each day, even ten or fifteen minutes, and keep it simple. Set aside distractions, bring your cares to Him in prayer, and linger over a short portion of His Word, letting your thoughts rest on Christ Himself. Over time that quiet focus shapes the rest of the day in a deep way. If you miss a day, just begin again the next without guilt, He is glad to be with you whenever you come.

We are praying the Father will draw you closer as you seek Him and make that time unhurried and real for you.

Father, we bring our friend to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Deepen their desire for Your presence and help them find steady, quiet time with You each day. Meet them there with Your nearness and peace, and keep drawing their heart to know You more. In Jesus' name, amen.

Father, thank You we are not unaware of the enemies' tactics, 2 Cor 2:11. Some of us are carrying a lot of different things in life, plus the burden of souls and physical things, others, relationships and You understood the propensity toward humans to worry. Thank You Jesus that You gave us visual illustrations and parables in order to make sure You care about us more than sparrows, flowers, etc, all of which The Father provides for, and that we ought always to pray. We thank You for the simplicity of The Lord's Prayer Matt 6:9-13, and even for the intercession from The Holy Spirit, Rom 8:22-26, as well as You, Jesus, who also intercede for us, Rom 8:34, and ever live to do so, Heb 7:25, even as You prayed for Peter and the disciples that their faith wouldn't fail, Luke 22:32, John 17:9, even rising to Stand in The Place of Intercession, "Look, I see heaven opened and The Son of Man STANDING at the Right Hand of God," Acts 7:56, from where You had been seated, Ps 110:1, Acts 2:34-35, Eph 1:20, Col 3:1, Heb 1:3 -- You stand at times for prayer when we need it most!!!

So we cast our cares on You, for You care for us, 1 Pet 5:7, and rather than give you some cotton-candy and a pat on the back -- submit to God and help resist the devil over your life, James 4:7, 1 Pet 5:8-9, collectively as the CHURCH that Jesus BUILT, that the gates of HELL shall NOT PREVAIL AGAINST!!! Matt 16:18. We say "NO" to the devil cutting off our supply lines to the VINE, Jn 15:1-5, Jn 15:6-8. Grant nearness to God and access through the BLOOD and VEIL, Heb 4:15-16, thank You in Jesus' Name...
