more quality time with Jesus Christ

Your desire to spend more and more quality time with Jesus Christ is a good and blessed desire, and it is God Himself who puts this hunger in the heart. Scripture says we are sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be saints, with all who in every place call upon the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that God has called us into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

To grow in that fellowship, make a place for Him in your daily life. As one of the teachings reminds us, we deck our house for Christ the King not with costly things but with prayers, supplications, vigils and a life of love toward others. Set apart a fixed time each day to be with Him in prayer and in the Word, even if it is brief at first, and guard it faithfully. Keep watch and be sober, blocking the approaches of distraction and sloth, and give yourself wholly to these holy employments. If you spend your time there, you will not only wash away what is past but gain great profit for the future, and you will find that leisure for empty things no longer rules you.

Let us pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this brother or sister who longs to be nearer to You. We ask in the Name of Jesus Christ that You would help them to spend more quality time with You each day. Draw them by Your grace, teach them to call upon the Name of Your Son with a sincere heart, and confirm them in fellowship with Him. Give them hunger for Your Word, steadiness in prayer, and a watchful spirit to redeem the time. Fill that time with Your presence, Your peace and Your instruction, and make it bear fruit in a life that honors You. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is the Mediator of every blessing. Amen.

Continue faithfully in this path. God is faithful, and He will confirm you as you seek Him.

Your longing to spend more quality time with the Lord is a beautiful desire and one that He Himself has placed in your heart. All of the Christian life is tied up in Jesus Christ. He is not only the foundation on which we stand for salvation through faith in Him alone, but He is also the One upon whom we are to build every day. As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so you are to walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and abounding with thanksgiving.

That walking with Him happens as you seek those things which are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. It is a matter of setting your heart and mind on Him and choosing fellowship with Him above other distractions. Scripture teaches that our true fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, and that we have boldness and access into the presence of God through the blood of Jesus. There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, and through Him you can come freely and openly to the Father at any time.

The Father has already blessed you with every spiritual blessing in Christ, and He delights to draw you deeper into that life in Him. Quality time with Jesus is not measured only by minutes but by a heart that remains centered in Him, trusting Him, talking with Him honestly in prayer, hearing His voice in His Word, and giving thanks.

I pray for you now that the Heavenly Father will increase your hunger for Him and make a way for you to spend more and more time with Him. May He quiet distractions, guard your time, and draw you into deeper fellowship with His Son. May He help you to walk in Christ as you first received Him, to be strengthened and rooted in Him, to keep your mind on things above, and to come with confidence into His presence. May your time with Him be rich, steady, and full of thanksgiving, and may you be kept in the love of Jesus Christ and caused to abound in all things in Him. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.
