We rejoice with you in this beautiful desire to spend more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very heart of our faith and the source of all true life and joy. It pleases the Father when we long to be near Him, and He promises to meet us when we seek Him with our whole heart.
The Scripture reminds us, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8. And again, Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. Our Savior Himself invites us to remain in Him, saying, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can't bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. John 15:4. When we seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33, we find that time with Him orders every other part of our lives.
We want to encourage you to set apart intentional, undistracted time each day to be with Him, even if it begins with a few quiet minutes in the morning before the day begins. Come to Him in prayer, not with formal words only, but with an open heart, and linger in His Word, letting Him speak to you. Turn off distractions, find a quiet place, and simply be still before Him in worship and listening. As you are faithful in little, He will deepen your hunger for more of His presence.
We now join together and pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the hunger You have placed in this heart to know You more and to spend quality time with Your Son Jesus Christ. We ask in Jesus' name that You would draw this dear one closer to You each day, help them to guard time with You and to delight in Your presence. Give them discipline and joy to meet with You in prayer and in the Scriptures, quiet their mind from the cares of this world, and let them hear Your voice clearly. Fill their time with You with peace, understanding, and the sweetness of Your love, and let their fellowship with Christ bear much fruit for Your glory. Teach them to abide in You continually, so that their life may be transformed and their love for You may grow more and more. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Your desire to spend more and more quality time with Him is itself a gracious token that the Spirit of God has breathed quickening grace into your soul and drawn you into union with Christ Jesus. Many live without Him and satisfy themselves with poor and paltry things, but to hunger for His presence is a mark of life from above, and it is a desire which the Lord Himself will delight to fulfill.
We would have you remember that prayer must be perfumed with praise. The apostle says, In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Always must we offer prayer with thanksgiving, and no matter though the prayer should struggle upward out of the depths, yet must its wings be silvered over with thanksgiving. Bethink you what cause you have for thanksgiving in prayer to the God who daily loadeth you with benefits. The result of such prayer is precious, for the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. That conscious calm, that divine serenity, is not produced by prayer alone, but by prayer with thanksgiving.
Jesus says to you as He said to His disciples by the sea, Come and break your fast. He is thoughtful of your wants. He knows you are weary with fruitless toil when you labour through the night without Him, and He spreads for you the old food with which He always fed His people. Do not give Him only the hurried remnants of your time, but come and feast with Him. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight. You need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus and His truth, and that strength comes from sitting at His table and feeding upon Him in the Word and in prayer.
And when you are alone in prayer, never be satisfied with having prayed. Do not give it up till you have touched Christ in prayer or, if you have not got to Him, sigh and cry until you do. Deep waters are still, and the nearest fellowship is not always that of which we talk the most. Remember the woman who came behind Him with a deep sense of unworthiness and touched but the hem of His garment and was healed. A touch healed her. She did not embrace Christ by the hour together, yet that touch brought life. So seek real contact with Jesus. He saw Nathanael in the shade when no one else marked his prayer, and He will see you in the crowd and in the dark and not withhold His blessing. Let your prayer be, Abide with me, and be thankful for every glimpse He gives, yet press on for more.
Bring to Him also your hard questions. Prove Him with the harder matters, the better. Have you felt you could go to Him with everyday burdens but not with that special load. Why not also take that to Him. How should man be just with God was a hard question that none could answer till Jesus answered it, for He has said, He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father. Come to Him with your hard doubts, your hard cares, your hard obstinacy, and you shall find Him able to answer and to help.
Let us pray together for you.

Your desire to spend more and more quality time with Jesus Christ is a beautiful and God honoring longing, and it is one that the Lord Himself delights to answer. The Father draws us to seek Him, and when we desire nearness to Christ, it is evidence that His Spirit is already at work in us.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this soul who longs to be closer to You.
