Disciple of Prayer
I am preaching for a call next Sunday and wife sons and mys elf as we partner to minister to a congregation for the annointing all of us, my wife ### as she ministers through prayer and counselling and as I Praech and sacrament and prayer .Pray Giod will annoint my lips and there will be sighns and wonders and deliverance and many will come to teh Lord . The Doors for ministry be opened. And next tenyears will be rival in that region. For the Glory of God!

We come before the throne of grace with great joy and anticipation as we lift up this sacred moment of ministry preparation. How beautiful it is to see a family united in service to the Lord, standing together in the calling He has placed upon your lives! The vision of your wife ministering through prayer and counseling while you preach the Word and administer the sacraments is a powerful testament to the beauty of God’s design for marriage and ministry.

We recognize the weight of this moment and the desire for the Lord’s anointing to rest upon each of you. The scriptures remind us in Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth." It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us for ministry, and we pray that He would fill you afresh, equipping you with boldness, wisdom, and a deep sensitivity to His leading. May your lips be anointed to proclaim the truth of God’s Word with clarity and authority, and may the Holy Spirit move mightily in signs, wonders, and deliverance as you minister.

We also pray for open doors of opportunity, that the Lord would establish the work of your hands and cause your ministry to flourish in the region for the next decade and beyond. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." We declare that as you commit this calling to the Lord, He will bring it to pass for His glory. May the name of Jesus be exalted, and may many souls be drawn to Him as a result of your obedience.

However, we must also address a matter of concern in your request. While we share your passion for the Lord’s work, we noticed that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer submission. Scripture is clear that there is no other name by which we can approach God or be saved. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is His name that carries power and authority in ministry. We encourage you to always lift up the name of Jesus in your prayers and ministry, for it is the name above all names (Philippians 2:9-11).

Additionally, we want to gently remind you of the importance of humility as you step into this calling. James 4:6 tells us, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'" As you seek signs and wonders, may your heart remain fully surrendered to the Lord, acknowledging that it is His power at work, not your own. The glory belongs to Him alone.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the calling You have placed upon this family. Lord, we ask that You would anoint their lips with Your truth and fill them with the power of the Holy Spirit. May Your Word go forth with authority, bringing deliverance, healing, and salvation to all who hear. Open doors of opportunity for their ministry, and let Your name be glorified in every life they touch.

We pray for signs and wonders to follow their ministry, that many would come to know You as Lord and Savior. Father, guard their hearts against pride and self-sufficiency, and keep them humble before You. May they always lift up the name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we pray and minister.

Lord, we declare that the next ten years will be a season of revival in their region. Let Your Spirit move in power, drawing souls to You and transforming communities for Your glory. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart, trusting in His timing and His plans. May you and your family be a beacon of light and hope in the region, pointing others to the love and salvation found only in Jesus Christ.

We're grateful to join you in praying for this upcoming Sunday, what a sacred moment, standing together with your wife and son to serve a congregation. It's clear you're not treating this lightly, and we're encouraged by how you've anchored it all for God's glory.

One thing that helps us when we're stepping into a moment like this is remembering that the anointing isn't something we work up or earn beforehand, it's the Holy Spirit's presence resting on what we've already given over to Him. The preparation in prayer and study matters, yes, but in the room itself you're not performing; you're yielding. We've found it helps to pray not just before the service but continuously under our breath as we speak, a quiet inward dependence that keeps our own hearts steady and open.

Since your wife ministers through prayer and counseling while you preach, there's a beautiful picture there of the body working together. We'd simply encourage you both to stay close to each other in the days leading up to Sunday, pray together, talk through any anxieties, remind one another that Jesus is the one who draws people to Himself. Your son's presence in this partnership is a gift too; what he sees modeled will shape his own understanding of ministry for years to come.

Our prayer for you:
Lord Jesus, we lift up this family to You now. Anoint this husband and father as he opens Your Word, let Your truth come through his lips with clarity, power, and the gentleness that opens hearts. Be near his wife as she prays and counsels, giving her discernment and the right words for each person she encounters. Cover their son with courage and joy as he serves alongside them. We ask for open doors, for seeds planted deep, and for a lasting work in that region that outlasts this Sunday. Do what only You can do, for Your name's sake. Amen.

The desire for the Lord to anoint your lips and to see signs and wonders attending the Word is a right and holy longing, yet let us take care that our hearts do not set themselves upon the signs rather than upon the Savior who alone is the sum of all wonders. You say God will anoint your lips, so be it, but remember that the anointing of the Lord often rests most heavily upon those who feel their own weakness most keenly. The man who groans, “I am weak,” is the very one whom God delights to use for the greatest marvels. Do not shrink from that sense of utter insufficiency; it is the shadow of the Almighty’s hand upon you, and when you are empty, then shall you be filled.

As for signs and wonders, the Lord was tender toward His servants in old time and gave them such tokens, and even now if there be a necessity, He may grant them. Yet mark well: signs and wonders have been given and yet have not worked faith in those who saw them. Pharaoh beheld marvel upon marvel, and his heart grew harder still. The Gospel itself is the greatest of signs and wonders, the wonder of a holy God embracing sinners, the wonder of a ransom found, the wonder of dead souls raised to life. Why do you need more than that? Preach Christ crucified, and you shall see the truest deliverance, for the Word of the Cross is the power of God.

You plead for ten years of rival, by which I trust you mean a deep and abiding revival, and this is a noble burden. Yet revivals come not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord. If we would walk with God in such a season, we must be agreed that the first and great means is the preaching of Christ, and we must look for no honor to ourselves. When human pride is brought low and the Lord alone is exalted, then are the times of refreshing from His presence. Beware of a spurious excitement that leaves no lasting fruit; true revival leaves men weeping over sin and clinging to the cross.

You speak of open doors. The Lord can open what none can shut, and He can suddenly lift you from obscurity to a sphere of wide usefulness. Yet even there, let it be your song, “He brought them forth,” for deliverance is of the Lord from first to last. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He has found a ransom; the deliverance is certain, accomplished in Christ. Therefore preach as one who has nothing but the message of free grace, and you shall see that the God of wonders does wondrous things. Expect great things, attempt great things, but lean wholly upon the arm that brought Israel out with silver and gold.

Go then, but go with your weakness confessed and your confidence fixed upon the faithful Promiser. When you call, He will draw near. When you open your mouth, He will fill it, not with the wisdom of words, but with the unsearchable riches of Christ. And if it please Him to add visible tokens of His presence, receive them with thanksgiving, but cling not to them. The standing wonder is this: that a sinner like you and me should be saved by the blood of the Lamb, and should be sent forth to gather in the rest of His redeemed. To God alone be the glory, now and for the ten years yet to come.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
