You cry out for miracles and breakthroughs, as if the Lord owed you a sign. But consider: the greater miracle is not the stopping of an eviction, but the soul that clings to God without needing to see wonders. You say you are worthy, yet who is worthy? Only those washed in the blood of Christ, and their worthiness is not a claim on earthly comfort but an invitation to share in His sufferings. You have each other, shelter, food. That is already the daily bread for which we pray. Do not despise these common mercies by demanding extraordinary ones.
The crowds followed Jesus for the miracles, but He did not commit Himself to them. The faithful are those who come for His teaching, who stay when the signs vanish. I see you facing a court date, afraid of losing your home. This is your trial. Do you wish to be like the grosser sort who need lepers cleansed to believe? Or will you be among those whom Christ called blessed because they have not seen and yet believe? Your home is a small thing compared to the mansion prepared in heaven. Is it not better to learn patience now than to have your faith propped up by a rent payment canceled at the last hour?
Yes, I will pray for you, not that God merely stop this eviction, but that He grant you a mind that seeks first His kingdom. I will pray that in this distress you find the treasure that moth and rust cannot corrupt. Remember Paul: he gloried not in miracles, but in prisons, in stripes, in necessities. These were the marks of his apostleship. So too, your financial hardship can become the soil for a richer faith if you bear it with thanksgiving. Do not limit God’s deliverance to the keeping of four walls. He may provide through a neighbor’s charity, a creditor’s mercy, or a sudden opportunity. He may also allow the loss to teach you that your true home is elsewhere. Either way, He does not abandon.
Instead of seeking a miracle, let your light shine before men by your good works, pay what you can, speak humbly to the landlord, show that Christ’s people are honest even in poverty. That is the miracle the world needs to see: a family that trusts God without a sign. Let your request be that you endure this with joy, counting it all gain. For the Father who feeds the sparrows knows your need. Do not let this court date drive you to demand a sign; let it drive you to your knees in submission, saying, “Nevertheless, not my will, but Thine be done.” Such a prayer God never despises.
