Help! We’re worthy of miracles and breakthroughs

Please pray for myself, my mother and sister. We share a 1 bedroom apartment, we’re blessed because we have each other, shelter and food to eat. I’ve been having financial difficulties and I’m behind on my rent. I received a court date of ### @ ###. Please help me too stop this eviction. Help us to stay in our home, until we can afford something better. Thank you for praying for us

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting up your family to the Lord who is our Provider and Sustainer. First, we want to acknowledge your gratitude for what you do have, your family, shelter, and food. This heart of thankfulness is pleasing to God, and we are encouraged by your recognition of His blessings even in difficult circumstances. The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." Your attitude is a testament to your faith, and we believe God will honor that.

We also want to address the financial struggle you are facing, particularly the threat of eviction. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that He sees your need and will make a way where there seems to be no way. In Philippians 4:19, it is written, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We stand on this promise and pray that God will open doors for you to meet this financial obligation and provide stability for your family.

However, we must also gently remind you that while we trust in God’s provision, we are called to be wise stewards of what He has given us. Proverbs 21:5 says, "The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty." We encourage you to seek counsel, perhaps from a trusted pastor or financial advisor, to help you create a plan to manage your finances moving forward. This may include budgeting, seeking additional employment, or exploring assistance programs in your community. God often works through practical steps as well as miracles.

We also want to lift up your mother and sister in prayer. May the Lord grant them peace, strength, and unity as you navigate this challenge together. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." Your family’s bond is a blessing, and we pray that God will use this time to draw you even closer to one another and to Him.

Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this family who is in need of Your provision and protection. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things, and we trust that You are aware of their financial struggles and the threat of eviction they are facing. We ask, Father, that You would intervene in this situation and stop the eviction process. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory, and open doors for them to find stability and peace in their home.

Lord, we pray for wisdom for this family as they seek to manage their finances. Give them clarity, diligence, and favor as they explore ways to improve their situation. Help them to trust in You and not in their own understanding, leaning on Your promises and Your faithfulness. We also pray for unity and strength for this family as they support one another through this trial. May they find comfort in Your presence and in the love they share.

Father, we ask that You would bless their home and fill it with Your peace. Let this time of hardship draw them closer to You and to one another. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and we stand on Your Word that promises breakthrough and miracles for those who trust in You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of coming to God through Jesus Christ, for it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He is the only way to eternal life and the source of all true provision and peace. If you have questions about what it means to follow Christ, we would be honored to share more with you. You are not alone in this journey, and we believe that God is working all things together for your good.

We’re praying with you, and we’re so glad you reached out. The weight of an eviction notice and a court date is heavy, and it’s easy to feel alone in that. But you’re not alone, not only because you have your mother and sister, but because God sees your family right where you are, in that one-bedroom apartment, and He cares deeply.

It’s good that you already recognize the blessings: each other, shelter, food. That gratitude is a real anchor when everything else feels shaky. Sometimes the most urgent need is a practical lifeline, and that’s what we want to help you think about. If you haven’t already, please reach out to a local church, yours or one nearby, and simply explain your situation. Many churches have benevolence funds or deacons who can help with emergency rental assistance, and they may also be able to connect you with a Christian social services agency or financial counselor in your area. Even in a tight timeline, a pastor or a church staff member can sometimes advocate on your behalf or help you understand your options before the court date.

We’re not promising a quick fix, but we’ve seen God move through His people in moments like these, through a check, an extended deadline, or a door that opens just in time. For now, let’s bring your need directly to Him.

Lord Jesus, you know the pressure this family is under. Calm their fears and give them clear thinking. Open a path for them to stay in their home, and surround them with helpers who can step in with wisdom and resources. Protect them from homelessness, and provide what they need until they can move to something more stable. We ask this in your name, trusting you for their provision and peace. Amen.

The one alternative is mend or end. A stand must be taken by the head of the house. There must be reform in the household and a revival of religion throughout the whole family. We have not given up family prayer, but we must now make it special and with double zeal draw near unto God. God grant that Prayer Meetings may begin to be better attended, that family prayer may be more regarded and that private prayer may be more diligently and more spiritually maintained. The practice of family prayer is the castle of Protestantism. Family prayer is the nutriment of family piety and woe to those who allow it to cease!

He and his family left their houses to find a home in the ark, and so they were saved. GOD in infinite Grace had entered into Covenant with Noah that He would preserve him and his family alive. The Covenant promise and purpose were fulfilled. Oh, beloved woman, advancing into years, with a grown family about you, if you have not come to Christ, I trust you may, that in your family the saved ones may be as Noah and his sons and his wife. Last came the son's wives and what a happy circumstance for them!

The text tells us that there is a whole family. It speaks not of a broken family, nor of two families, but of the whole family in Heaven and earth. The practical point is, Do we belong to that family? I will leave that naked question to work in every heart. Do I belong to that family?

The Christian comes into court and says, I admit my guilt, but I plead that Christ suffered in my place. They forget that the tribunal of conscience, though a very important one, is not the supreme court and that, although it is well to try matters before the heart, yet there is another court, far higher than the court of the human heart, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. A man in sore trouble and distress of soul, the faithful messenger of God had told him the naked truth.

It was one cold morning and there was no fire to warm himself by, nor for his little family, and this text came again and again, All things are yours.
