Marriage

Weysaire

Disciple of Prayer
I don't remember how we became strangers but I want my marriage to work. I pray he find his ways back to the marriage, I pray he opens his heart to our marriage

We hear the ache in your heart and we join with you in bringing your marriage before the Lord, for we know how painful it is when two who were joined as one begin to feel like strangers. We share your desire to see your marriage not only survive but be restored and strengthened, because we believe marriage is a sacred and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, created and joined together by God Himself. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9 and For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh Gen 2:24. This is God's design from the beginning, and He delights in healing what has grown distant.

It is so common for busyness, unspoken hurts, disappointment, and the pressures of life to slowly create distance without either person noticing how it happened. That drifting does not mean your marriage is beyond hope, for God is able to soften hearts and make new what feels broken. We are reminded I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezek 36:26. We pray that for both of you, that the Lord would open his heart as you have asked, and open your heart as well, to see each other again with grace, tenderness and forgiveness. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Eph 5:25 and Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord Eph 5:22 show us the beautiful picture of mutual love, respect and selfless service. Love covers a multitude of sins 1 Pet 4:8 and Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Eph 4:32 are the ways that distance is undone, through daily choosing kindness, forgiveness, honest communication, and prayer together.

We want to encourage you to keep pursuing your husband in prayer and in gentle, loving truth, and to invite him to seek the Lord with you, whether through praying together, reading Scripture together, and seeking wise godly counsel from a pastor or mature married believers. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding Prov 3:5-6 and With all prayer and requests, pray at all times in the Spirit Eph 6:18. We also encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord, to ask Him to show you any place where hurt has turned to bitterness, and to let Him fill you with His love so you can love even when it feels difficult.

We noticed your request speaks of prayer but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are reconciled to God Rom 10:9. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation and to come to God in His name, and to pray for your husband to know Him deeply as well, for a marriage centered on Christ is far more able to endure and be renewed.

We pray together now for you both.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious marriage to You. You see the loneliness and the longing to be known and loved again, and You know every step that led to this distance. We ask You to have mercy and to pour out Your healing grace upon this husband and wife. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him back toward his wife and toward the covenant he made before You. Give him eyes to see her value, ears to hear her heart, and a willingness to love her as Christ loves the church. Soften her heart as well, give her strength, patience, hope and wisdom to love and respect him with grace even in this painful season. Remove any hardness, resentment or indifference and replace it with a new heart and a new spirit. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us, to speak truth in love, to listen with humility, and to seek You together daily. Protect this marriage from the enemy who seeks to divide, and let what You have joined together remain unbroken Matt 19:6. We ask that You would restore friendship, intimacy, and unity, and make their marriage a testimony of Your redeeming power. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace, amen.

We stand with you in hope, believing that God who instituted marriage is faithful to restore those who seek Him. Do not grow weary in praying and in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up Gal 6:9. Keep seeking the Lord, keep loving faithfully, and trust Him to work in His perfect timing.

We have been praying for you since we read your request, and we hear how painful this distance feels. Loving someone who has become like a stranger in your own home is lonely, and your desire to see your marriage restored is a good and honoring desire.

Sometimes that drifting happens so slowly we cannot name when it started. Reconciliation, when God brings it about, is not just going back to how things were, but an active commitment by both people to restore love and trust over time. You cannot carry that alone, and it is understandable to feel helpless as you wait for his heart to open.

One small step that often helps when words have grown thin is to practice naming one feeling clearly and kindly. When there is a calm, undistracted moment, you might share a single honest sentence about what you miss and what you hope for, without blame, and give him space to respond in his own way. It will not fix everything at once, but learning to identify and share feelings simply can begin to rebuild understanding. If he is willing, inviting a trusted pastor or counselor to walk with you both can also give you a safe place to be heard.

We are asking God to meet you in this waiting with strength and wisdom for each day.

Father, we lift this marriage to You. You see the love that is still there and the ache of feeling far apart. Soften and open both hearts where You know it is needed, guard this wife with Your peace, and lead this husband back toward home in Your timing. Give them gentle words, listening ears, and courage for the next step. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry has come before the Lord and He knows the sorrow of two who once were near and now feel as strangers. The heart wound you describe is one that many have felt, and there is One who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. He who is the Husband of His people understands the grief when love grows cold and hearts wander, for He Himself has loved His own with a special and peculiar love and has provided for them with all the tenderness of a husband.

It is a grievous thing when the heart wanders and becomes divided, and when negligence creeps into that which should be kept with diligence. Yet the promise of the gospel is that God does not leave His people in that divided and stony state. He has said, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and I will give you an heart of flesh. No man can create such a heart in himself, for the heart is the motive power of all life, but the Lord can and does perform this wonder of divine love. He can take away that heart of stone and write His law upon a heart of flesh.

Pray then that the Holy Spirit will do that saving work which is always a prick in the heart. It is not religion in the head alone that restores a marriage, but a work in the vital place, the heart, the heart, the heart. As Peter was restored not by argument but by the look of his Master which pricked him to the heart and broke him into repentance, so pray that your husband may be pricked in the heart by the arrow of Christ's glance, that he may feel godly sorrow and be turned again in love. Our blessed Master is thinking of the wanderer even now and His heart goes out toward him. He is the God of peace who has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and now waits for the heart to turn toward Him again in love and peace.

We will join you in prayer that the Lord will do a perfect restoration in your home. That He will give to your husband a tender and perceiving heart, that He will take away all hardness and make him willing to end the distance and to love and cherish as at the first. That He will give to you also strength of faith, for faith is the heart of the spiritual conflict and the Lord holds His shield over it that it fail not. That He will heal your own heart wound and support you till your heart shall become strong again to face this affliction.

Continue to seek Him who alone can save through Jesus Christ. Lay your marriage before Him daily, not with lightness of heart but with a united heart that fears His name. Ask Him to advance His sanctifying work in you both from glory unto glory, and to make your house to be as though He had never suffered you to be cast aside. He who found His people in a desert land and espoused them to Himself is able to cause a husband to return to his first love and to say, I will go and return to my first covenant, for then was it better with me than now.

May the Lord hear your prayer, create new hearts within you both, and in His mercy bring reconciliation, peace and holiness into your marriage for His glory.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
