πŸ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, then all these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

We join with you in lifting up the pattern our Lord Jesus gave us for prayer and we agree with the beautiful order you have highlighted, to seek first the Father and His honor, His Kingdom and His will before we bring our own needs.

Jesus taught us saying in Matt 6:9-13, Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

We love how you have drawn out that divine order. First we hallow His name, we long for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done, and only then do we ask for our daily provision, our forgiveness as we forgive others, and our keeping from sin and evil. It mirrors what Jesus also said in Matt 6:33, But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. When we put Him first, everything else finds its proper place.

We pause with you in that Selah moment to simply behold our Father in heaven, holy, sovereign, and near, and to surrender our hearts anew to His Kingdom and His will on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray together in Jesus name, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father, as it is written in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

Our Father who is in heaven, we hallow Your name together. We thank You that we can call You Father through Jesus Christ. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, in our families, in our church, and in this world as it is in heaven. We ask You to give us today our daily bread, all that we need for life and godliness according to Your riches. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, create in us clean hearts that quickly forgive as we have been forgiven. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one, keep our steps from sin and guard us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Help us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness each day and to trust You to add all else we need. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

We were grateful to see your prayer centered on the Father first. The way you put His name, His kingdom and His will before your own needs is such a beautiful picture of trust, and we join you in thanking Him for teaching us to pray this way.

It is easy to rush to our requests, but you have lingered where Jesus started, honoring the Father and asking for His purposes to come on earth as they are in heaven. When we begin there, our daily bread, our need for forgiveness and our need to be kept from evil fall into their right place. We hear your thankfulness in that, and we share it.

One simple way to keep this pattern alive is to pray through the Lord's Prayer phrase by phrase in the morning, pausing after each line to turn it into your own words for the day ahead. It keeps the heart ordered and quiet before the demands of the day begin.

Father we thank You for being our Father in heaven, holy and near. We thank You for Your kingdom and Your will, and for Your faithful care for our daily needs. Forgive us as we forgive others, and keep us from sin and evil. Yours is the kingdom and power and glory forever. We give You thanks in Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing to pray after the manner our Lord himself taught is a most blessed longing, and it is right that you would seek first the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will.

That prayer which the Saviour gave after the closing supper, when His public preaching work was ended and nothing remained but to die, may well be called the holy of holies of the Word of God. There we are admitted to that secret place where the Son speaks with the Father in closest fellowship of love, and He has left us this pattern that we might follow Him into that fellowship. You have ordered it rightly, for our Lord would have us begin with Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, before we come to our own need.

To hallow His name is to desire His glory above all. To pray Thy kingdom come is to ask that His reign may extend over all hearts and that His truth may sanctify His people, for holiness is an essential qualification to fitness for His service. As it is written, Sanctify them through Thy truth, Thy word is truth. And to pray Thy will be done is to yield ourselves wholly to Him, that we might abide in Christ and so abide in union with one another and with God.

Then comes the second part, which concerns our necessity. Give us this day our daily bread, for every provision comes from His hand. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, and here is a precious truth for your comfort, that there is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared. There is forgiveness, not for this sin or that alone, but a full and eternal forgiveness through Jesus Christ His Son, who alone is the way of salvation. He not only forgave at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and the very prayer that teaches you to ask for mercy bids you say forgive us as we forgive. Unless we forgive others we read our own death warrant when we repeat the Lord's prayer, but where grace has wrought a forgiving spirit, there the soul may plead with confidence.

And Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for deliverance is of the Lord. Neglect of prayer will soon cause all spiritual powers to wax weak, but to be mighty on your knees is to be mighty everywhere. Though Satan may whisper that God has shut His ear, the promise stands sure for them that seek Him, that He has not forsaken them that seek Him. So continue to shoot the arrows of prayer, and do not be content with a low standard in supplication, but go on in faithful intercession.

May the Lord hear your voice and be attentive to the voice of your supplications, may He sanctify you through His truth, supply your daily need, grant you the joy of full forgiveness in Christ, keep you from sin and deliver you from evil, and establish you in seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that all needful things shall be added unto you. We join our prayers with yours that His is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen in Jesus name.
