Keep Us from Deception 2Thes 2:9-10, Guard Us by The Word Prayer Preaching Teaching Church Attendance Fellowship Praise, Worship, Intercession Thanksgiving, Evangelism Rev 12:11... Father in Heaven -- Thank You for Your light and truth let them lead us completely through life's journey to the ultimate goal Your Holy Hill, Ps 43:3. Thank You for drawing us to Jesus, Jn 6:44, allowing us to understand and believe in Christ, Matt 11:25, Matt 16:17, John 6:29, 1 Cor 1:30, Eph 2:8-9, Phil 1:29. Thank You for faith in the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son, Rom 3:25, which cleanses us from all sin, 1 Jn 1:7! Thank You for the power of the stripes that wounded Jesus that heal us and make us whole, Isa 53:5, Matt 8:17, 1 Pet 2:24! And thank You for raising Jesus from the dead, defeating death, and sending The Holy Spirit, the Counselor, Advocate, Helper, Intercessor and Giver of Life, John 6:63.

We specifically ask for protection from deception and lies, Matt 24:4-8, John 8:44, Rev 12:9, from greed, Lk 12:15, Heb 13:5 and may You perform it by granting contentment, 1 Tim 6:6-9, Phil 4:11-13. Let Your Bride walk in the light, 1 Jn 1:7, help us make ourselves ready, Rev 19:7-10. It seems only You can do this for You who begin a good work ultimately bring it to completion, Phil 1:6, You perfect that which concerns us, Ps 138:8, perhaps we do not have because we do not ask, James 4:2? May it not be said on that day that we did not ask for the holiness without which no one will see You, Lord, Heb 12:14. Jesus clearly taught, "Blessed are the pure in heart , for THEY shall see God, Matt 5:8, when we come out of their midst and are separate, 2 Cor 6:17-18, perfect holiness in the fear of The Lord, 2 Cor 7:1, You are ready to punish all disobedience once our obedience is complete, 2 Cor 10:6.

Protect us all from sin, Zeph 3:13, Ps 119:11, Rev 14:5, let us not enter into temptation, Mk 14:38, Lk 11:4, keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, and keep us on Your path of increasing clarity, Prov 4:18, Col 1:9, Col 4:12, Phil 1:9-11. Keep us especially from false believers, 2 Cor 11:26, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, deceivers, 2 Tim 3:13, 2 Jn 1:7, deception, 2 Thes 2:9-10, 1 John 5:19, by washing us with Christ's water of the water of the Word, Eph 5:26, The Word of Truth, Eph 1:13, 2 Cor 6:7. Sanctify us in Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, John 17:17, James 1:18, 2 Tim 3:16, especially when rightly divided, 2 Tim 2:15, with careful attention to our lives and teaching, 1 Tim 4:16.

Protect us from the dragon's false doctrine and persecution spewing across the world, Rev 12:15. Help restrain these evils, 2 Thes 2:7, and use godly government to restrain and punish evil, 1 Tim 2:1-4; Rev 12:16, Rom 13:1-7. We pray for grace to stay on the alert, Mk 13:33, for strength to escape all that's coming and stand before The Son of Man, Luke 21:36.

We ask antichrist be revealed, slain and annihilated, 2 Thes 2:8, that the saints are guarded from buying into his system, Rev 13:6, and that he, the false prophet and devil be fully and finally sentenced forever, Rev 20:10. May we fear you, Ecclesiastes 12:13, Rev 14:6-7, and knowing the fear of The Lord persuade people to prepare for The Judgement Seat of Christ, 2 Cor 5:10-11. Help us be wise and win souls, Prov 11:30, lead many to righteousness, Dan 12:3, instruct many, Mal 2:5-6, Matt 28:20.

With thanksgiving we offer these requests for ourselves, our family, friends, church-mates, pastors and online praying believer-friends, Heb 10:25, so we have fellowship, 1 Jn 1:2-3, test the spirits, 1 Jn 4:1, walk in light, 1 Jn 1:5-10, that our whole body may be full of light with no dark part in it, Luke 11:36, without hidden sin or deception, 2 Cor 4:2, like the message John heard from You, Jesus, and preached to us, about You being light and in You is no darkness at all, 1 Jn 1:4-10, and may the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join you in this urgent and beautiful prayer for protection from deception and we say amen to your desire to be kept pure and guarded by the Lord Himself.

You have asked so well how the Lord guards us and indeed it is by all the means of grace He has given us. We are kept by the Word, by prayer, by faithful preaching and teaching, by not forsaking church attendance, by fellowship, by praise and worship, by intercession and thanksgiving, and by the testimony of evangelism. As it is written, even the elect would be deceived if possible, for Jesus warned, Watch that no one leads you astray Matt 24:4. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved 2 Thes 2:9-10. And we know the whole world lies in the power of the evil one 1 John 5:19, who is a liar and the father of lies John 8:44.

We praise God with you that He has shone His light and truth to lead us to His holy hill Ps 43:3, that no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him John 6:44, and that it is God who has revealed Christ to us Matt 16:17 and granted us to believe Phil 1:29. We thank Him that we are justified through faith in the blood of Jesus Rom 3:25, that the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1:7, that by His wounds we are healed Isa 53:5, 1 Pet 2:24, and that He has raised Jesus from the dead and given us the Spirit who gives life John 6:63.

We agree with you in asking the Father to keep His Bride from all deception, from the love of money and greed Luke 12:15, Heb 13:5, and to grant us godly contentment which is great gain 1 Tim 6:6. We pray that we will walk in the light as He is in the light 1 John 1:7 and make ourselves ready as a bride adorned for her husband Rev 19:7. We know He who began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ Phil 1:6 and that He will perfect that which concerns us Ps 138:8. You are right to ask, for you have not because you ask not James 4:2, and we must pursue the holiness without which no one will see the Lord Heb 12:14, for blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God Matt 5:8.

We pray together for this holiness, that we would come out and be separate 2 Cor 6:17 and perfect holiness in the fear of God 2 Cor 7:1. We ask Him to keep us from sin Ps 119:11, to keep us from entering into temptation Mark 14:38 and to keep us from the evil one John 17:15. We ask to be kept from false brothers 2 Cor 11:26, from those having a form of godliness but denying its power 2 Tim 3:5, and from deceivers and those being deceived 2 Tim 3:13, 2 John 1:7.

Our confidence is that He sanctifies us through His truth. Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth John 17:17. Christ cleanses His church by the washing of water with the word Eph 5:26, and we are to handle that word accurately as workers who correctly handle the word of truth 2 Tim 2:15 and take heed to ourselves and to our teaching 1 Tim 4:16. Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together Heb 10:25, but continue steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship Acts 2:42, testing the spirits whether they are of God 1 John 4:1, and having fellowship with one another in the light 1 John 1:7.

We also join you in praying for the restraint of evil 2 Thes 2:7 and for kings and all in high places that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Tim 2:2, knowing that governing authorities are servants of God to punish evil Rom 13:4. We pray for watchfulness Mark 13:33 and for strength to escape all these things that will happen and to stand before the Son of Man Luke 21:36.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and no other way to You except through Him John 14:6. We thank You for Your light and truth, for drawing us to Jesus, for the blood that cleanses, the wounds that heal, the resurrection that gives hope, and the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth. We ask You to guard us, our families, our churches, our pastors and all who pray with us from every lie, every false teaching, every greedy desire and every snare of the devil. Wash us daily in the water of Your Word, sanctify us, make our whole body full of light with no dark part in it Luke 11:36, and keep hidden deception far from us 2 Cor 4:2. Lead us on the path that shines brighter and brighter to the perfect day Prov 4:18. Keep us alert, keep us holy, keep us abiding in Christ, that Your peace which surpasses all understanding may guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Phil 4:7. We ask that the lawless one will be revealed and removed 2 Thes 2:8 and that the devil, the false prophet and all who follow them will be judged Rev 20:10, and that we would fear You and persuade many to be reconciled to You 2 Cor 5:11, leading many to righteousness Dan 12:3 as we go and make disciples Matt 28:19. We offer all this with thanksgiving, trusting Your promises are yes and amen in Christ 2 Cor 1:20. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer and the deep hunger in it to walk in truth and stay close to Jesus. The way you lifted up not only yourself but your family, friends, pastors and fellow believers shows real love and care for the whole body.

That desire to not be led astray but to live in the light is something we share with you, and we thank God for the work He has already begun in you. We know it can feel heavy at times to stay alert in a noisy world, and it helps to remember discernment grows best in steady, humble places, staying close to Christ day by day, staying in His Word, and not walking alone but testing what we hear together with faithful brothers and sisters who know us.

It is a gift that you have already named those anchors, the Word, prayer, faithful preaching and teaching, gathering with the church, fellowship, worship and thanksgiving. Keeping those simple rhythms, even in small faithful ways through the week, is often how the Lord keeps our hearts clear and at peace.

Father, we lift them and all they have prayed for to You. Guard their heart and mind in Christ, keep them and their loved ones from deception and from the pull of greed and fear, and make their path clearer as they follow You. Give them contentment, strength for each day, and joy in walking in Your light. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

This prayer which you have poured out is one that the Spirit Himself must have taught you, for it seeks those very things which God delights to give. You ask to be kept from deception, and rightly so, for our Lord warned that false Christs and false prophets shall arise to deceive, if it were possible, even the very elect. Yet the elect shall not be deceived, not because they are wiser in themselves, but because the Lord has purposed to keep them and has given them the means of preservation.

You ask how you shall be guarded, whether by the Word, by prayer, by preaching, by teaching, by fellowship and worship. I answer, by all these, for God uses means. Above all, be washed with the water of the Word, for sanctify us in Thy truth, Thy Word is truth. Give careful attention to your lives and to doctrine, and continue therein, and be sure the Word is rightly divided and faithfully preached. Test the spirits, prove all things, and hold fast that which is good. A Bible well read and prayed over, heard with faith in the assembly of the saints and not forsaken, is a sure preservative against the dragon's flood of false doctrine.

You have prayed for holiness, and you do well to pray thus, for without holiness, practical, personal, active, vital holiness, no man shall see the Lord. It is not the imputed holiness of Christ alone of which the apostle speaks when he says follow holiness, though that imputed righteousness is your only title to heaven, but a holiness wrought in you, a separation from the world, a consecration unto God, a communion with Him who makes you holy. Do not be content with moral propriety or an outward form of godliness which denies the power thereof. Many have a form and go from the table of the Lord to drink the cup of devils, but true grace changes the nature. The Lord says, I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me, and again, I will not turn away from them, to do them good. This is perseverance in holiness. He who begins a good work will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, and He perfects that which concerns you.

Remember also that high doctrine was never meant to be a thorn hedge to keep you from Christ, but an open door. All things are of God in the planning and in the performing of salvation, and this truth, far from leading to licentiousness, lays the axe at self sufficiency and makes a man abhor sin. If any say, if I believed election I should live in sin, we may well reply, no doubt you would, but the renewed heart cannot so speak, for its thirst is for holiness and not for vice. Election is a motive for separating altogether from sinners and from sin.

Therefore I join my prayer with yours, that the Lord would keep you from sin and from the evil one, that you enter not into temptation, that you walk in the light as He is in the light, with no dark part remaining, and that your whole body may be full of light. May He restrain evil, expose the man of sin, and keep you from buying into his system, and may He give you grace to watch and to stand before the Son of Man. May He grant you contentment in place of greed, clarity in place of confusion, and a holy fear which leads you to persuade others to prepare for the judgment seat of Christ, that you may be found winning souls and leading many to righteousness.

May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and may you be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, abounding in thanksgiving and in the fellowship of the saints, till you see Him whom having not seen you love, and behold His holy hill with pure hearts.
