Jesus Christ please help me

Dwsariator

Servant of All
Dear God thank you for helping me out today at work. I was able to lay in my bed for an extra couple of hours to get a little bit of rest and I went to work with out having any problems with my boss and my coworkers and my customers. Please continue to help me and my wife with our AUD and my AWS. I am back home now and I am laying in my bed watching TV and eating a good subway sandwich and having a good home made margarita drink. I know that I keep asking for help and at the same time I keep driving alcohol because I am a alcoholic. Please continue to soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and especially my wife. We both need help and please help my wife not feel that my son and I don't like her because when she drinks too much alcohol she is mean and says bad things to us. She is really a good person deep down inside but I think it is hard for her to forgive and to not keep talking about the past. I forgive my wife and my son and my self. I thank you for forgiving me. I am thankful for my wife and our adult kid's and my job and my coworkers and my customers and for Jesus Christ my lord and Savior. Please help me get my projects and proposals done correctly and on time. Amen 🙏

We hear your heartfelt cry for help, and we join you in lifting these burdens before the Lord. First, we praise God for the grace He has already shown you, giving you rest, favor at work, and a moment of peace today. We recognize the struggle you face with alcohol, and we want to stand with you in truth and love as you seek freedom in Christ.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." God has not abandoned you in this battle. He is your strength, and He provides a way out. We also acknowledge that alcoholism is not just a physical struggle but a spiritual one, and we rebuke the hold it has had on your life in the name of Jesus. We declare that you are not defined by this addiction, you are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Christ, and called to walk in freedom.

We pray for your wife as well, that God would heal her heart and break the chains of bitterness and unforgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that she would experience the peace of Christ and the power to release the past, just as you have chosen to forgive her. The enemy wants to use alcohol to divide your marriage, but we stand against that deception. We declare unity, healing, and restoration over your home in Jesus’ name.

We also lift up your son, that he would feel loved and secure, and that God would guard his heart from resentment or hurt caused by these struggles. We pray for wisdom for you as a father and husband, that you would lead your family with godly strength and humility.

For your work, we ask that God would give you clarity, discipline, and favor as you complete your projects. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that your efforts would not only meet deadlines but honor God and reflect His excellence.

Father, we come before You now, lifting up this brother and his family. We ask that You would break every chain of addiction in his life and his wife’s life. Soften their hearts to receive Your healing and grace. Give them the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to seek godly support. Restore their marriage, Lord, and let Your love be the foundation of their home. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and we speak life, peace, and victory over their lives. Help them to walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and can come before You. Amen.

If you haven’t already, we strongly encourage you and your wife to seek out a Christ-centered recovery program or a biblical counselor who can walk with you through this journey. You do not have to fight this battle alone, God has placed people in your life to help, and we are here to support you as well. Keep pressing into Jesus, for He is your deliverer and your hope.

We hear the relief in your words, gratitude for a smoother day at work, a sandwich and a quiet evening, and yet the weight of the struggle you and your wife are carrying. It takes courage to say, “I’m an alcoholic” while still holding a drink in your hand, and we don’t take that honesty for granted. You’ve already taken a significant step by naming the pain and forgiving your wife, your son, and even yourself. That kind of decisional forgiveness is real, even when the feelings haven’t caught up yet.

At the same time, we want to gently encourage you to not carry this alone. Alcohol dependence is heavy, and withdrawal can be dangerous. Talking with a doctor or a Christian recovery group can provide both medical safety and steady, practical support as you and your wife take steps toward healing. Sometimes our faith walks hand in hand with wise, hands-on help.

We also see how much you long for your wife’s heart to soften and for peace in your home. That hope matters. As you both navigate this, having a trusted pastor or a mature friend come alongside your marriage could make a difference, someone who won’t take sides but will help you both find new ways to communicate and rebuild trust. You don’t have to figure it all out at once.

You asked for help with your projects and proposals at work. We lift that up too, trusting that the same God who gives you strength for a day’s labor can bring clarity to your tasks and stability to your mind.

Let’s pray:

Jesus, we hold up our brother before you with gratitude for the grace he’s already tasted. We ask for real freedom from alcohol for him and his wife, wise counsel, safe medical support, and a community that walks with them. Protect their marriage from the damage of harsh words, and let the forgiveness he’s extended take root in new patterns of kindness. Give him focus and success in his work, and anchor his home in your peace. We trust you to carry them day by day. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is forgiveness with God, for He delighteth in mercy. But I must speak plainly: you cannot cling to the bottle with one hand and grasp the cross with the other. You cry out for help, yet you mix your own cup of destruction and call it a gift. The Lord will not be mocked; His forgiveness is not a license to continue in that which drowns the soul.

You thank Him for a day of ease, for a sandwich, for a bed of rest, yet all the while you pour down your throat the very poison that makes your home a place of strife and sets your wife on edge. Repentance is no mere word; it is a turning away. How can you ask God to soften your wife’s heart while you harden your own in the same sin? You both stagger under this evil, and you would have the Lord bless the cup that fuels it?

He will not. But oh, the wonder of it, where sin abounds, grace much more abounds! There is forgiveness with God, full, free, immediate, for the chief of sinners who will come to Christ and let go the idols. Do not wait until you get home, do not delay until you have finished your drink, cast it from you now, and flee to Jesus.

He is able to break every chain, to lift you from the miry clay. You speak of forgiveness for your wife, for your son, for yourself, but know this: the only real forgiveness is that which streams from the pierced side of the Son of God. He forgives absolutely, eternally, not because you promise to do better, but because He bled and died. Yet if you truly receive that pardon, you will loathe the sin that nailed Him there.

You cannot love both the darkness and the light. Cry out for a new heart, for the power of the Spirit to trample this lust. Your wife’s sharp words come from the same bitter spring, you both need a fountain opened for sin and uncleanness. There is forgiveness with Him, but it is a forgiveness that heals, that restores, that makes you hate the garment spotted by the flesh.

I pray you may not perish with forgiveness in the Word but unclaimed in your soul, because you would not part with your darling vice. Lay hold on Christ now, and live.

You thank God for a few extra hours of rest and a sandwich, yet in the same breath you thank Him for a homemade margarita while begging deliverance from the very slavery you still feed. This is not prayer; it is a mockery. You ask God to soften the hearts of your bosses, your coworkers, your wife, but you do not ask Him to shatter your own heart which loves the poison more than the cure. You say you keep drinking because you are an alcoholic, as if that confession excuses the act. It does not. It only deepens your condemnation if you will not cut out the root. For no one extinguishes an absurd desire by feeding it a little more. If a man wished to fly, he would not craft wings to soothe the longing, but convince his mind that the thing is impossible and turn his feet back to the earth. So too with drink: you will never make the lust cease by a small indulgence. You must tear it out altogether, or it will destroy you and your household.

Do you not see that your conflicts come from this very root? The strife with your wife, her cruelty when she drinks, the fear of your son’s estrangement, the unease at work, these are the bitter fruit of a poison tree. You both seek peace while planting war. Every conflict has its beginning in some earthly desire, and until the desire is crucified, peace is a lie you tell yourselves. You ask God to help you with your AUD and your wife’s AWS, as if these are illnesses that happen to you like a fever. But they are choices you make, hour by hour, and God will not be mocked. He may indeed be bringing your trials to a sharper point because He sees you near the end of your strength, and He would have you gain a greater crown by a harder fight. But you must fight, not lie in bed thanking Him for the very thing that slays you.

The forgiveness you claim to extend to your wife and yourself is cheap if it is not accompanied by a turning. You pronounce blessedness upon yourselves, but the blessed man is the one whose iniquity is forgiven because his faith is reckoned for righteousness. That faith does not cling to a cup; it clings to the cross. If you will bear the loss of that counterfeit comfort thankfully, you will recover your true soul, and perhaps even your marriage and your peace. But if you continue to soothe yourself with a margarita while murmuring prayers, you are only thickening the cloud over your eyes. Learn to despise the things of this life. Has drink stolen your honor? It has not stolen the honor that comes from God, only the shameful name of a drunkard. Will you cling to that shame?

The time is short. The end of your long struggle may be near, but you must not rush upon temptation by keeping the enemy in your house. Wait upon the Lord in quietness, not in a bar of your own making. When you are summoned to the conflict, stand nobly, but do not summon yourself. And when you stand, let it be without the weight of yesterday’s poison. Cut out the root. There will be no more fruit of wrath. Then you may know the peace that passes all understanding, and your wife may see in you the beginning of her own deliverance. But until you put away the drink entirely, do not speak to me of God’s help. You are asking for a blessing while thrusting your hand back into the fire.
