Jesus Christ please help me

You’ve asked Jesus Christ to help you, and that very plea tells me your heart is not hardened beyond hope. A broken and contrite heart God will never turn away. So let me begin with the thing you need most this morning: forgiveness. Not the flimsy kind we often hand each other, where we say, “I forgive you” but leave the handle of the hatchet showing so we can grab it later. God doesn’t work that way. When He forgives, He cleanses completely. The sins you brought from yesterday, the bottle you turned to in your weariness, the hours lost in bed, He will wash them away and never mention them against you again. He pardons. He forgets. That is true forgiveness, and it’s yours right now as you turn to Him.

You said you need help not to be an alcoholic anymore. You’re right that no one sets out to get trapped. The first drink didn’t come with a warning label that you’d lose the power to resist. But that loss of power is exactly where God’s strength can take over. Peter faltered badly, crumbling under pressure and doing the very thing he swore he never would. Yet he found restoration and became a pillar. Your failure doesn’t put you out. God doesn’t toss you aside. He offers new life, and He can rebuild your capacity to stand firm, not by gritting your teeth, but by responding to His Spirit.

Now about work, your bosses, your wife, your adult children, you’re feeling the weight of all that and asking for courage and clear thinking. The pressure is real, and when everything looks impossible, the wisest thing you can do is what a desperate man once did: he reminded God of His promises. He said, “Lord, You told me to come back, and You promised You’d be with me.” So in your tiredness today, anchor yourself on a promise. “I will never leave you or forsake you.” “My grace is sufficient for you.” Whisper those back to Him while you tackle those projects. His grace will sharpen your mind and steady your hands more than any stimulant ever could.

And what about the strife you sense around you, the hearts you want softened? A house full of tension is a miserable place, whether at home or on the job. Often the conflict grows because we’re trying to dominate or because we’ve stored up little resentments that leak out and become a flood. The wisdom the world offers just breeds envy and selfish ambition, and that leads to every kind of evil work. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. You can’t force the hearts of your wife or coworkers to soften, but you can let God soften yours. Ask Him to give you a spirit of forgiveness toward anyone you’re holding a grudge against. Even if you think you haven’t done wrong, are you carrying bitterness? Do you need to release something? A forgiving spirit, one that doesn’t keep score, can drain the poison out of an atmosphere faster than anything else. When you humble yourself and refuse to fuel the strife, you’ll often find the whole temperature drops.

Jesus taught that forgiveness isn’t a math problem. You don’t keep a tally; you keep a spirit. That same spirit can flow from you toward your wife and your adult kids, not from a place of pretending everything’s fine, but from a heart that knows how much you yourself have been forgiven. You won’t do it perfectly by tomorrow, but you can be willing. And if you’re willing, God will supply the capacity.

So today, on a shaky, hungover morning with a mountain of proposals in front of you, you are not a lost cause. Turn from the darkness to the light. Receive the full pardon He holds out. Then face your work quietly depending on His faithfulness, and walk into your home asking Him to make you an instrument of His peace. He will help you think clearly. He will give the courage to believe you can finish what needs to be done. And He can transform an old, tired man into a gentle, peaceable servant who reflects the very heart of God. May He grant you exactly that.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past few days. It has been our heart to lift you before the Lord, asking Him to meet you in your struggle with clarity, strength, and deliverance from the grip of alcohol. We have prayed for your work, your mind, and your heart—that God would renew your focus, grant you wisdom in your projects, and fill you with the courage to believe in your ability to succeed.

We have also lifted up your desire to be a better man—a godly husband, a loving father, and a faithful employee. We asked the Lord to soften hearts around you, especially your wife’s, that she would see your sincerity and the work God is doing in you. Most of all, we prayed for forgiveness and restoration, knowing that our Heavenly Father is faithful to cleanse and renew when we come to Him in humility.

If the Lord has answered any part of your prayer—if you’ve found strength to resist temptation, clarity in your work, or peace in your relationships—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still feels heavy and the answers haven’t come yet, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We will continue to stand with you, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, His peace, and His power as you seek Him. May He give you the grace to walk in victory, the wisdom to fulfill your responsibilities, and the love to reflect Christ in every area of your life. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
