Humble Servant
Dear God please help me. I'm at work and I am having AUD with drawls and my stress and anxiety are too much to handle and I just want to go back home and lay on my bed and drink alcohol until I pass out. I'm afraid of losing my job and my home. I started home all last week and drank every day but my job is too much for me to do anymore. Please help me not get fired or to quit and give up. Please forgive me please help me to not shake and sweat.

We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your burdens to our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your struggle with alcohol and the overwhelming anxiety you’re facing is not hidden from God, He sees your pain, your fear, and your desire to break free. The Word tells us in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you, believing that God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

First, we must address the root of this struggle with honesty and truth. Alcohol has become a master in your life, and the enemy is using it to steal your peace, your health, and your future. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." The cycle of drinking to cope with stress is a snare, and it will only lead to deeper bondage if not confronted with the power of Christ. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life in Jesus’ name! You were not created to be enslaved by anything, God has called you to freedom (Galatians 5:1). The shaking and sweating you’re experiencing are physical manifestations of a spiritual battle, but we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We also recognize the fear of losing your job and your home. These are real concerns, but we must remind you that your worth and security are not found in your employment or your possessions. Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Even if the worst were to happen, God is your provider. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We encourage you to surrender these fears to God and trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. Lord, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is crying out for help. You see the torment in their body, mind, and spirit, and You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We ask You to break the chains of addiction in their life. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their body as they go through withdrawal, and replace their cravings with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that is gripping their heart. Your Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Give them the courage to face this day without turning to alcohol. Provide them with the wisdom to seek help, whether through medical support, biblical counseling, or a godly accountability partner. Surround them with believers who will pray for them and walk alongside them in this journey.

Lord, we also pray for their job. You are the God who opens doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Give them favor with their employers and the strength to perform their duties with excellence. If it is Your will for them to find a different path, make it clear and provide for their needs. We trust You to be their Jehovah Jireh, their Provider.

Above all, Father, we ask that You draw them closer to Yourself. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). Forgive them for turning to alcohol instead of You, and cleanse them from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Renew their mind with Your truth and fill them with hope for the future.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). We declare victory over this addiction in Jesus’ name, for nothing is impossible with You (Luke 1:37). May they walk in the freedom and abundant life that Christ died to give them. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Beloved, we urge you to take practical steps today to break this cycle. First, confess your struggle to a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or counselor who can pray with you and hold you accountable. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." You cannot fight this battle alone, and God has placed people in your life to help you.

Second, seek medical help if needed. Withdrawal can be dangerous, and there is no shame in asking for professional support. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."

Third, immerse yourself in God’s Word. Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of Scripture. Memorize verses like Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Fill your mind with worship music and spend time in prayer, even when it feels difficult.

Finally, consider joining a biblical recovery program or a support group for those struggling with addiction. You are not the first person to face this battle, and there are others who have found freedom through Christ. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."

Remember, God is not angry with you. He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and He is ready to forgive and restore you. The enemy wants you to believe that you are too far gone, but that is a lie. Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10), and He is calling you to turn to Him today. Surrender your life fully to Him, and watch as He transforms your pain into purpose. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). Keep fighting, keep praying, and keep trusting in Him. We are standing with you in faith, believing for your breakthrough.

We hear your heart cry and we’re with you in this. The weight you’re carrying isn’t something you have to shoulder alone, God is right there in the middle of it with you. Those shakes and the anxiety aren’t just in your head; they’re real, and they’re telling us this battle is bigger than we can fight on our own. But listen, the same God who holds the stars in place is holding you tighter than you realize.

We know alcohol has felt like the only way to quiet the storm inside, but that temporary relief is just a mirage, it’s only making the waves crash harder when they come back. You were made for more than just existing through each day. Jesus didn’t die on that cross so we could numb ourselves into oblivion; He came so we could live, really live. His strength is what we need right now, not another drink, not another night of running.

Those fears about your job and your home, they’re real and they matter to you, and they matter to God too. He isn’t asking you to ignore them; He’s asking you to hand them over. He’s got a plan you can’t see yet, but it’s better than anything we could imagine. Remember, even in the darkest valley, He’s still your Shepherd, you won’t lack a single thing.

Let’s not forget, you’re not defined by what’s happening right now. You’re a child of the King, and He’s writing a story with your life that’s far from over. The enemy wants you to believe this is the end of the road, but God specializes in turning ashes into beauty. We’re praying that today, you’d feel His presence surrounding you like a shield, that He’d calm the panic until it’s just a whisper, and that He’d give you the courage to reach out to someone who can walk beside you through this.

Lord, we come before You with this precious soul who’s carrying so much. You see the tears, You feel the trembling, and You love him more than he can fathom. We ask that You would meet him right where he is, in the exhaustion, in the fear, in the regret. Break the grip of this addiction in his life, Lord. Replace the lies he’s believed with Your truth. Give him the strength to take one step today, then another tomorrow, and fill his heart with hope that he’s not walking this path alone. Heal his body, renew his mind, and restore his soul. We declare victory over every chain that’s bound him, in Jesus’ name. Bring people into his life who will speak life over him and remind him of Your promises. And above all, let him feel Your love wrapping around him like a warm embrace. We trust You, God. We know You’re fighting for him even when he can’t feel it. Restore him, renew him, and lead him into the abundant life You’ve prepared for him. In Jesus’ name we pray.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
