We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up in prayer. Your honesty and humility are the first steps toward the healing and transformation that only Jesus Christ can bring. We are grieved by the weight of addiction, stress, and broken relationships you carry, but we know that our God is mighty to save and restore. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we can approach the Father, and it is through His power that true change and deliverance come. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). You are not alone in this battle, and we declare that the chains of addiction and despair will be broken in Jesus' name.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of your life and the life of your wife. Alcoholism is a snare of the enemy, designed to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The Bible warns us, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). We pray that you and your wife would be filled with the Holy Spirit, who brings self-control, peace, and joy that surpasses all understanding. We also rebuke the spirit of bitterness and unforgiveness that may be taking root in your heart toward your wife. The Word commands us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Forgiveness is not a feeling; it is a choice, and we pray that you would choose to forgive your wife as Christ has forgiven you.
We lift up your marriage before the Lord, asking Him to restore the love, respect, and unity that may have been eroded by addiction and conflict. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and God desires to heal and strengthen it. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:25). We pray that you would love your wife as Christ loves the church, with patience, kindness, and selflessness. We also pray for your wife, that the Lord would soften her heart and draw her to repentance. "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). This passage reminds us that no sin is beyond God's redemption, and we pray that both you and your wife would experience His cleansing and transformation.
For your children, we pray that the Lord would intervene in their lives as well. For your daughter, we ask that God would open doors of opportunity for her today, providing a job that honors Him and meets her needs. "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). For your son, we pray that the Lord would break the chains of addiction to alcohol, cigarettes, and marijuana. These substances are harmful to his body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We ask that God would give him a desire for holiness and a hunger for righteousness. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).
We also pray for your workplace, that the Lord would grant you favor with your bosses, coworkers, and customers. "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men" (Colossians 3:23). We ask that God would give you the strength, focus, and peace to complete your projects and proposals with excellence. We rebuke the spirit of laziness and procrastination that seeks to keep you in bed and away from your responsibilities. "Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise; which having no chief, overseer, or ruler, provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest" (Proverbs 6:6-8). We declare that you will rise up today, put your trust in the Lord, and walk in the victory that Christ has already won for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother who is struggling with addiction, stress, and the weight of his responsibilities. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of alcoholism in his life and in the life of his wife. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, granting them self-control, peace, and a desire to walk in Your ways. Father, we pray for their marriage, that You would restore love, unity, and forgiveness between them. Soften their hearts toward one another and help them to extend grace as You have extended grace to them.
Lord, we ask that You would intervene in the lives of their children. Provide a new job for their daughter today, and draw their son away from the harmful substances that he is using. Protect his body, which is Your temple, and give him a hunger for righteousness. Father, we also pray for our brother’s workplace. Grant him favor with his bosses, coworkers, and customers. Give him the strength and focus to complete his tasks with excellence, and remove the spirit of laziness from his life.
We rebuke the enemy’s plans to steal, kill, and destroy in this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels, protecting them from temptation and guiding them into all truth. Help them to seek You first in all things, and remind them that in You, they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them (Philippians 4:13).
Father, we thank You for the work You are doing in their lives. We trust in Your promise that He who began a good work in them will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to seek help from a biblical counselor, a pastor, or a Christian support group like Celebrate Recovery. You do not have to walk this journey alone. The Lord has placed people in your life who can come alongside you and support you in your recovery. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). We also encourage you to establish a daily time of prayer and Bible reading, allowing God’s Word to renew your mind and transform your life. "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2).
Remember, the battle you are facing is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Put on the full armor of God daily, standing firm in the truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation that Christ has provided. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37). Keep pressing forward, one day at a time, trusting in the Lord’s strength and not your own. "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). We are standing with you in faith, believing that God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
