Beloved of All
I am carrying a deep hurt and facing a problem in my relationship with my brother, ###. My desire is to forgive and for the relationship to be restored. He is perhaps the most difficult person, and this the most challenging relationship, I have ever known. Yet, this broken relationship and the hurt in my heart stand as a barrier to drawing closer to God. Let us pray that God helps me to truly forgive completely—freeing me from hurt and negative thoughts—so that my heart may be pure and at peace, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God grants me wisdom and intervenes to resolve this issue, aligning the relationship with His will, in the name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God heals my heart and soul and protects me from further hurt, in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank you... God bless you!

We have heard your deep hurt and we join with you in bringing this broken relationship with your brother before the Lord. Your desire to forgive completely and to see this relationship restored and aligned with His will is pleasing to God, and we commend you for recognizing that unforgiveness and hurt can hinder your fellowship with Him and for wanting your heart to be pure and at peace.

The Word calls us to a forgiveness that mirrors what we have received in Christ. We are told in Ephesians 4:32 to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, and in Colossians 3:13 to bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Forgiveness is not saying the hurt did not matter or that trust is instantly rebuilt, it is releasing the debt to God and choosing to not hold the offense against your brother any longer, as Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14 and Matthew 18:21-22. This frees your own heart from bitterness and negative thoughts, which we are to take captive to the obedience of Christ as taught in 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to keep our hearts with all diligence as in Proverbs 4:23.

We also understand that he is a most difficult person and this is a most challenging relationship. God grants wisdom for such situations when we ask. James 1:5 says if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We pray God will give you that wisdom to respond with grace and truth, to set healthy and biblical boundaries where needed, and to pursue peace. Romans 12:18 reminds us if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Restoration is our hope, but it requires two willing hearts, so we trust God to work in both of you according to His will.

We rejoice that you have come in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and healing for our wounds. Psalm 147:3 tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear one to You who is carrying deep hurt. Lord, heal this broken heart and soul, bind up every wound, and wash away the hurt and lingering negative thoughts. Grant the grace to forgive completely as You have forgiven us, and fill this heart with Your peace which surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7 to guard heart and mind in Christ. Grant wisdom beyond our own understanding to navigate this difficult relationship with this brother, and intervene according to Your perfect will. Where possible, bring reconciliation and restoration that honors You, and where there is resistance, protect this heart from further hurt and help to walk in love without returning to bitterness. Draw this dear one ever closer to You as James 4:8 promises that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us, and let this trial become a testimony of Your healing power. We cast all anxiety on You because You care for us as in 1 Peter 5:7, and we ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your hurt honestly before the Lord daily, to meditate on His Word, and to seek godly counsel if needed. The Lord sees your pure desire and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you.

We hear how heavy this hurt with your brother has been, and how much you want to be free of it and close to God again. Wanting to forgive completely while also longing for restoration is a tender and honest place to be, especially when he is such a difficult person to love.

One thing that has helped many of us is to recognize that forgiveness itself often unfolds in two parts. There is a quiet decision to release the debt and not pursue repayment, and then there is the slower work of the heart where resentment and fear gradually loosen and are replaced by peace. The first can be made before the feelings catch up, the second takes time and repeated surrender. Reconciliation is different from either part, it needs both people to choose to rebuild trust, and it may not happen at the same pace as your own healing.

It may help to give yourself permission for that process, each time hurtful thoughts return to simply and honestly hand them back to God without judging yourself for still feeling them, and to ask Him for wisdom for the next interaction with your brother, whether that means a kind boundary or a small step toward peace.

Father, we lift our brother to You, You see the pain he carries and his deep desire for a pure and peaceful heart. Heal what is wounded in him, quiet the negative thoughts, and give him wisdom day by day with . Lead this relationship according to Your will and guard his heart as he draws nearer to You. In Jesus name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest cry concerning this deep hurt and the broken bond with your brother has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace.

There is a heart which should be tender, by which we perceive the Presence of God, as it is written, Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. When the heart is wounded and heavy within, when it meditates upon its hurt, it becomes a barrier to drawing near to Him. You have well discerned this, that the sorrow which presses you down must be taken off by the great Physician Himself. We are told that He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and that the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ, a word of His coming home to the heart, brings healing to conscience and affection, to desire and to thought, and changes the life blood of the soul.

You desire to forgive completely and to be freed from hurt and negative thoughts. Know that our God is a God ready to pardon. We come to an end of our forgiveness before long, after being offended seven times we do not go on to seventy times seven, but do not judge God's heart by that hard heart of ours. He bears the consequences of our sin, and Jesus dies because our sin involved death. Miracle of mercy. Having been so forgiven, we are enabled to forgive. And when the Lord comes and dwells with His people, pardon and healing are one, for He says, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and He gives a new heart and puts a right spirit within.

He is also the God of Peace who has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation. Our prayer is that you may be reconciled to God in full peace through Christ, and from that peace may flow grace toward your brother.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, we bring this wounded heart before You. You see the deep hurt, the disappointment and the burden which has crushed the spirit and hindered drawing near to You. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son who poured out the life floods of His heart for those who mocked Him, that You would grant true and complete forgiveness, not of mere word but of heart, that this soul may be freed from hurt and from every bitter and negative thought. Create a new heart and bestow a pure heart that may be at peace and may see You. Heal the broken heart and bind up its wounds, let the healing virtue of Christ, whose leaves are for healing, touch head and heart, conscience and soul. Grant wisdom from above to know what is right and what is according to Your will, and intervene in this difficult relationship with your brother. Where there has been estrangement, work that which is pleasing in Your sight, aligning this relationship with Your will, or granting grace to walk in peace if restoration in full cannot yet be. Protect this heart from further hurt, keep it under the shadow of Your wings, and let the Sun of Righteousness rise upon it with healing in His wings. We ask that sorrow may give way to joy, and that drawing closer to You may be unhindered. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.
