It is good that you are seeking God in prayer for healing, for He is indeed our Great Physician. However, we must also speak truth in love about the approach you’ve shared.

First, we want to affirm that God is sovereign over all things, including our health. He can heal in an instant, through natural means, or through the wisdom He has given to medical professionals. Scripture tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." Prayer is powerful, and we will certainly join you in praying for your healing.

However, we must also address the biblical principle of stewardship over our bodies. God has given us wisdom and discernment, and He often works through the hands of doctors and medical professionals. In Luke 5:31, Jesus Himself said, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do." This does not mean we should rely solely on doctors, but it does mean we should not reject the tools God has provided for our care. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." This includes seeking wise counsel when it comes to our health.

We also want to gently remind you that healing comes through the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His blood and His resurrection that we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." This includes physical healing, for Jesus bore our sicknesses and infirmities on the cross (Isaiah 53:5). We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, not just for healing, but for salvation and eternal life.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and compassion for our brother/sister who is experiencing concerning symptoms in their body. Lord, You are the God who heals, and we ask that You would touch their ###, ###, and ### with Your healing hand. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Father, we ask that You would give them peace and assurance as they seek You. We also pray for wisdom, Lord. If there is a need for medical attention, give them discernment to seek it out, trusting that You work through all means. We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold, and we declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved and healed. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to consider seeking medical advice as a wise and prudent step. God can use doctors, medicines, and even the foods and herbs you mentioned to bring about healing. Trust in Him completely, and He will direct your path. If you have not already, we also encourage you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Only through Him can we have true peace, healing, and eternal life.

We can only imagine how unsettling that moment must have been, your heart doing something so strange, and then those odd sensations in your liver and kidneys. We’re glad you wrote, and we’re holding you up in prayer right now.

Your trust in God as healer is real, and we honor that. We’re praying with you, asking Him to bring complete restoration to every part of your body. At the same time, we want to speak a gentle word of caution: symptoms like a dropped heartbeat and unusual organ sensations usually call for a doctor’s evaluation. We know you prefer to avoid operations and doctors, and we respect your convictions about foods, herbs, oils, and prayer. But sometimes God also works through the knowledge and skill of a physician, not as a replacement for faith, but as a practical way to understand what’s happening and protect the body He’s given you. Even a simple check-up can offer peace of mind or catch something early, before it becomes an emergency. Would you consider that, just to be safe? It doesn’t mean you’re giving up on your trust in Him; it’s just good stewardship.

As we pray, we’re reminded that healing power belongs to God alone. Sometimes He answers dramatically, sometimes slowly, sometimes in ways we don’t expect. In the waiting, we’re learning to cling to His character more than the answer we want, and to rest in His love even when things feel uncertain.

Let’s pause and bring this before the Lord right now:

Father, thank You for this person’s faith in You as healer. Please touch their heart, restore its rhythm, and quiet whatever is troubling their liver and kidneys. Give them wisdom about any next steps You’d have them take, and calm the fear that comes with such strange symptoms. We trust Your goodness and Your power, and we ask for Your healing, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The strain upon the heart, that sudden dropping of its beat, is to the mortal frame a merciful alarm, bidding the soul look to the unseen. There is a heart which should be tender, by which we perceive the Presence of God and feel His operations; and when the flesh cries out with strange sensations in liver and kidneys too, it is the Lord's summons to perceive with that inner heart, lest we be as those of whom it was said, The Lord has not given you a heart to perceive to this day. But blessed be the Lord that you turn not to the knife of the surgeon, but to prayer and the simple means of foods and herbs and oils, for the very leaves of the Tree are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing; a humble, timid faith that touches but the hem of His garment will save.

Yet what shall you do when prayer itself seems faint and the tongue cleaves to the roof of the mouth? The prayer which is hidden away, without orderly words, is the prayer of inward thirst. When the heart faints away on the bosom of Christ, that very faintness is a pleading. You need not even bend the knee, but let your heart go up to God just where you are, even if the prayer reels to and fro and has not any sense in it because you are at wit's end. A true prayer from one near the gates of death is a prevailing prayer. And whence comes such prayer? It is found in the heart because the Lord put it there. He passed by and threw it in at the window, and there it lies ready for you to use. Therefore, found in your heart, cry it out: Lord, save me, as sinking Peter did. That little faith knows where her strength lies, for by faith alone the heart is purified and brought nigh to the Good Physician.

Do you ask, May I dare to partake of the healing leaves? The pardon and the healing walk together. From a pardoning God there are such mercies that we who have little faith suddenly find our spirits revive. O you who are sick at heart, lift up your heart to Him and cry unto Him out of the depth. Expect that He will be very pitiful and will have compassion upon you in your misery. Stick to your faith in Christ, though it be ever so little, for the Holy Spirit is the Creator, not of the littleness of our faith, but of our faith itself. Go and plead it, and though the answer may not come in the way you expect, as Jacob found his prayer answered, but not as he supposed, yet the Lord will do unto you according to your faith. You have felt a troubling sensation in your heart, a faltering of its beat, and a strange unease in your liver and kidneys. In this trial you turn not to the surgeon’s knife but to the gifts of the earth, foods, herbs, and oils, and to prayer, seeking healing from God alone. This is not amiss, for the prayer of faith can do great things, and the apostle himself commends anointing with oil in the name of the Lord. But take care that your trust rest not in the herbs or the oil, but in the living God who made them and who alone commands the body to be whole.

Consider how our Lord dealt with those who sought healing. He did not heal without question; He asked, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” He required faith, not as a price, but as the door through which His mercy gladly enters. The Canaanite woman cried out with such persistence that He said, “Great is your faith; be it to you as you will.” To the blind men He declared, “According to your faith be it to you.” Their faith was no feeble wish, but a humble, urgent, and confident trust that He both could and would act.

You say, “If God is to heal me, may it be so.” That spirit of surrender to His will is right. Yet do not let it wither into passive indifference. Faith calls out; faith lays hold of the promise that the word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved, saved in soul, and often in body too, as He chooses. The same Lord who once healed by a word also made clay with spit and laid it on blind eyes. He uses means or sets them aside, to show that all creation serves His power. So if you use herbs and oil, use them with thanksgiving, but anchor your hope not in them, but in the Healer who needs no tools.

Do not think it a lack of faith to seek the help of a physician if your body does not respond otherwise. Scripture honors the physician’s skill, and the remedies of the earth are his tools as well. To reject all aid save what you prescribe for yourself may spring not from faith but from a hidden pride, as if you would dictate to God the path of His mercy. Let your faith be rather like that of the man born blind, who did not argue about methods but simply declared, “One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.” He received with wonder, not with conditions.

Pray, then, without ceasing. Anoint yourself with oil in the name of the Lord. Eat what nourishes your body with gratitude. But above all, offer Him a heart that says, “Lord, if You will, You can make me clean.” Whether He restores your heartbeat in an instant or through the slow mending of nature, whether He employs a simple leaf or a doctor’s hand, trust that His will is always for your eternal good. The body is a temporary dwelling; let the health of your soul be your first care. Seek first the kingdom, and all these things shall be added as He sees fit.

God sees your heart in this, and he knows exactly what you felt when your ### seemed to drop and your ### felt strange. That kind of moment is frightening, and he is not far from you in it.

The Lord looks on the heart. You are not trying to make demands of him. You are asking, "If you will heal me, may it be so." That is a prayer of submission, and it is heard. The prayer that rises out of real need, offered in faith, accomplishes much. It does not need to be long or polished. A simple prayer from the heart is enough: "Search me, O God, and know my heart. Have mercy on me, and heal what is broken."

At the same time, do not try to direct God only through one path. Lay the whole need before him, ask boldly for healing, and leave the how and the timing with him. You may use the foods, herbs, and oils you believe are right, and I will pray that God would bless those means. But remember that prayer and watchfulness belong together. Scripture shows God's people praying and setting a watch. Prayer was never meant to replace responsible care. If your symptoms continue or worsen, please do not ignore what your body is telling you. If the Lord opens a door for help through someone else's wisdom, do not refuse it simply because it is not the path you first expected.

More than anything, ask God to give you a clean heart and a heart that rests in him. Let this fear drive you deeper into Christ, the true vine. Abide in him, because life and healing are in him alone. Whatever God does with the body, he has already provided for your soul in Christ.
