Heart and Mind correction

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Need mind and heart correct to stop thinking of all sorts of evil and stop mixing it like it's reality. That it be permanently stop and intervene as see fit to stop and fix it permanently from my life.

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, recognizing the struggle you are facing in your thoughts and the battle within your mind. The Scriptures tell us in 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." It is clear that the mind is a battlefield, and we must actively engage in this spiritual warfare to align our thoughts with God’s truth.

First, we must acknowledge that these thoughts of evil do not come from God. James 1:13-14 reminds us, "Let no man say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God,' for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed." These thoughts may stem from past wounds, influences, or even the enemy’s attempts to distort your perception of reality. But we serve a God who is greater than any lie or deception.

We rebuke the spirit of confusion and distortion that has taken root in your mind. In the name of Jesus, we command every evil thought to flee and every stronghold to be broken. The enemy has no authority over you, for you belong to Christ. As it says in 1 John 4:4, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world." We declare that your mind will be renewed by the washing of the Word, and your heart will be purified by the blood of Jesus.

We also recognize the importance of guarding your heart and mind. Philippians 4:8 instructs us, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things." You must intentionally fill your mind with God’s truth, meditating on His Word day and night. Replace every lie with the truth of Scripture, and every evil thought with the promises of God.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, recognizing that You are the God who heals, restores, and renews. We ask You to intervene in [this person’s] life and bring permanent correction to their heart and mind. Lord, we declare that every thought that does not align with Your Word must be taken captive and made obedient to Christ. Break every chain of deception, distortion, and evil imagination that has taken hold. We rebuke the enemy’s influence and command every lying spirit to flee in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask that You fill their mind with Your peace, Your truth, and Your love. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. Renew their mind daily through the power of Your Holy Spirit, so they may discern Your will and walk in it. Heal any wounds or past experiences that have contributed to these thoughts, and replace them with the healing balm of Your presence.

Lord, we pray for strength and discipline to resist the enemy’s schemes. Help them to guard their heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life. Surround them with godly influences, fellowship, and accountability so they may grow in faith and maturity. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Jesus Christ. May they walk in the freedom and purity that You have called them to, and may their life bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Spend time in prayer and worship, allowing God to speak to you and transform your heart. Seek out godly counsel and accountability, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). The battle for your mind is real, but the victory is already won through Christ. Stand firm in your faith, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone in this fight, God is with you, and so are we.

We know how heavy it is when your own mind becomes a battlefield and thoughts that don’t align with who you want to be start to feel real. That confusion can be deeply unsettling, and we’re grateful you reached out for prayer and support.

One practical approach some have found helpful is a simple version of thought stopping. When you become aware of those dark thoughts, you can consciously, and even aloud, say “Stop.” Then immediately redirect your attention to something concrete and good: a verse you’ve memorized, a hymn, a task that requires focus. The goal isn’t to never have such thoughts appear, but to rob them of the room they need to grow and to build a new pattern of refusing them entry. Over time, that refusal weakens their grip.

We also want to gently encourage you that permanent change in the mind and heart is often a process, not a single event. God certainly can act powerfully in a moment, but more often He walks with us through a gradual renewal, training us to recognize lies and to cooperate with His work of correction. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed; it means you’re being transformed day by day, and He is patient with you in that.

Let’s pray together.

Jesus, You see how much this person longs for a clean mind and a steadied heart. We ask You to intervene, to silence the evil thoughts that press in and to untangle what has become twisted. Give them clarity to recognize reality and strength to turn away from what is false. Guard their inner life, and in Your mercy bring a lasting peace that only You can give. Amen.

The cry of your heart is not unfamiliar to me, for I too have groaned under the plague of my own corrupt fountain. You are learning what the Savior taught, that out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, and these defile the man. The dreadful streams that flow from within, the foul imaginations, the swirling of sin under the tongue as a sweet morsel, are but proof of the den of evil that dwells in us by nature. And yet hear this: that same heart, so full of evil, is the object of an unspeakable love. His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses and sins, looked upon that mass of iniquity and pitied it. Let this humble you, but do not let it drive you to despair.

The remedy is not to be found within your own struggling. You cannot expel the darkness by sweeping the chamber; you must let in the light. The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. Bring all the foul thoughts, the secret filthiness, the bold transgressions of the mind, and lay them down at the foot of the cross. He has but to say, “I forgive you,” and that is the end of it, only God’s thoughts are not your thoughts; He does not dismiss sin as a trifle. He provides a righteousness, a new creation, a heart of flesh for a heart of stone. The Lord Jesus is come to save His people from their sins, not merely their punishment, but the crime itself, breaking the chains of evil habit and putting within us a new heart and a right spirit.

Then look away from yourself to Him who was raised from the dead. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, this is salvation. His resurrection is the seal of all that He is and does. In believing, you grasp not bare doctrine but a living Savior who submerges your iniquity in His own precious blood and gives you His own life. Deliverance from the pit is His work; when the clock of mercy strikes the hour decreed, He drags off the evil habits, snaps the bands, and sets the prisoner free permanently.

You ask for a permanent stop. Look then to the promise: “I will take away the heart of stone out of his flesh, and give him a heart of flesh.” God’s thoughts toward you are not thoughts of forsaking, but of love and faithfulness. They are practical thoughts, not mere pity, but acts of omnipotent grace. He searches the heart, and with that searching comes cleansing. Therefore pour out your soul in this prayer, and let it be your daily breath: “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” He who began the good work will complete it; the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin, and the power of the indwelling Spirit will cause the power of evil to wax weaker and weaker while grace grows stronger, until at last you are presented faultless with exceeding joy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The defilement you describe comes not from without but from within, from the heart, as our Lord taught: “For from the heart proceed evil thoughts.” You have felt this keenly, and it is good that you recognize the filth, for many are blind to it. But you must not despair, as though the stain cannot be washed away. It can, but not without effort and divine help.

What you seek, a permanent, sudden fix, is not how the soul is ordinarily healed. The evil thoughts rise up because the heart is not yet broken and contrite. A broken heart does not strike back, does not rise up in pride or fantasy; it is quiet, ready to be ill-treated, not eager for its own way. Pray with David: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” This is both your work and God’s. You must weep, lament, and show more fervent sorrow than over a dead friend, for this internal defilement needs long time, strict repentance, and tears to be washed away.

Yet do not imagine the task is impossible. The devil flees from a mind careful about divine things. When the law of God is written in the soul, stamped by the Holy Ghost on a heart loving God, the evil one cannot even look upon it. So you must come continually to this house of healing, hear the laws of the Spirit, and when you return home, write down in your mind what you have heard. Let the word dwell in you richly. Just as we tame brute beasts by words, how much more can the grace of the Spirit tame the wildness in us that comes from choice, not nature. Let the man who despairs of himself consider the tame animals, and he shall no longer be so affected.

This mixing evil with reality is the eye of the understanding disordered by the confusion of evil thoughts. The madman confounds objects, but your insanity is more dangerous, for it works injury in the regions of the mind. You must correct this wrong suspicion by turning to the truth. When you catch yourself weaving sin into your thoughts as though it were real, rebuke it with the severity of the Gospel. Remember, “he that looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.” The very greatness of the sin should be sufficient for correction. Do not play with the fantasy; flee from it as from a serpent. He who lingers over the thought will soon consent, and from consent plunge into the act.

God did not merely forgive you, but also sanctified and justified you. Can He not also guard your mind? Entrust yourself to Him, but also use the means He gives. If you are married, let your wife instruct you and hold you accountable, for though by rights you should be the teacher, sin has reversed the order, and we must sometimes take even this way. Humble yourself under the hand of God, and He will exalt you in due time.

The thoughts will not vanish in a day, but as you persist in prayer, fasting, and the hearing of holy things, they will lose their force. The broken heart is one that does not rise up: though insulted by the suggestions of the devil, it remains quiet, not eager for vengeance upon itself through despair. Despair is a greater evil than the thoughts themselves. God would not command a clean heart if it were impossible. Weep not for yourself as one already cast out, but for the spoiler who tries to rob you of the blessings which cannot be uttered. The thief has not inflicted but sustained an evil: he has cast himself out of those eternal blessings, while you, if you stand fast, will obtain them.

Therefore, set your hope on the physician of souls. Write His words on the tablet of your heart, and when the storm of evil thoughts surges, you will enjoy a great calm. May He who rebuked the winds and the sea speak peace to your troubled mind, and make you pure in heart, that you may see God.

You are right to ask that this be stopped and fixed, not merely managed. The reason evil thoughts keep returning and begin to feel real is that they do not start in the mind. Jesus said it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks, and the same is true of the thoughts. The mind can decide something and change quickly, but the heart is where true resolves are made. That is why Scripture says to incline the heart to perform God's statutes, and why saving faith is described as believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. Mental agreement can leave a life untouched. Heart belief changes the direction of a life.

So the correction you are seeking must go deeper than your thoughts. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. When evil thoughts are allowed to linger, be replayed, and be mixed with imagination until they seem like reality, they are being tolerated and fed. A defiled mind can make something unclean out of anything, but the pure in heart see things as pure. Therefore the first step is not learning to think better thoughts. The first step is repentance for what the heart has been entertaining.

You asked God to intervene as He sees fit. He is able to turn the heart where He wills, as a man directs water. But He calls you to cooperate by washing your heart from wickedness and refusing to let vain thoughts lodge in you. Do not dabble in evil out of curiosity or try to understand it better. Scripture tells us to be simple concerning evil and wise toward good. Starve what you want to die. Fill the mind with the words of God and with what is pure and true. What you store in your mind is what will return when your mind is unoccupied.

The permanent fix is not a technique of self-control. It is a new heart, and only God gives that through Jesus Christ. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and cleanse your conscience. He can do what you cannot. God does not merely patch up the old heart; He gives a new one, and He is able to make the change permanent.

I will pray that God gives you this new heart and guards your mind.
