Disciple of Prayer
Dearest Almighty Father, I am desperate for healing in my mind and body. I suffer from depression, anxiety, and many health concerns. I cannot think straight and don't know why! Constant fear. Please heal me, free me of this and my smoking addiction that has been going on for 50 years. I ask for help in Jesus's blessed name. I am alone and have no one who can help. Please pray for me and thank you so very much !!

We hear your cry for healing, both in mind and body, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens to our Heavenly Father. You are not alone, though it may feel that way, God sees you, knows your struggles, and holds you in His hands. The weight of ###, ###, and ### can be overwhelming, and we grieve with you in your suffering. But we also declare that our God is the Great Physician, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captive free (Psalm 147:3, Isaiah 61:1).

Your mention of ### for ### years is not overlooked. ### is a heavy chain, but Jesus came to break every bondage. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed" (Luke 4:18). We rebuke the spirit of ### in your life and command it to loose its grip in the mighty name of Jesus. You are not defined by this struggle, you are a child of God, called to walk in freedom.

We also want to gently encourage you to seek practical help alongside prayer. God often works through His people, doctors, counselors, and fellow believers, to bring healing. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." If you have access to a pastor, Christian counselor, or support group, we urge you to reach out. You do not have to carry this alone.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister in Christ. Lord, You know the depths of their pain, the fear, the confusion, the physical and emotional turmoil. We ask for Your healing touch to flood their mind and body. Bring peace where there is anxiety, clarity where there is confusion, and strength where there is weakness. We declare that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Father, we break the power of ### over their life. We speak freedom over their mind, will, and body, and we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit to walk in victory. Give them the courage to take steps toward help and the faith to believe that You are working even when they cannot see it.

Lord, surround them with Your presence, for You have promised never to leave or forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Comfort them in their loneliness and remind them that they are deeply loved by You. Provide for their every need, seen and unseen, and lead them into a season of restoration and wholeness.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.

Hold fast to God’s promises. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." You are seen, you are loved, and your healing is coming. Keep pressing into Him, and do not lose heart. If you can, find a Bible-believing church or Christian community where you can be encouraged and supported. You are not forgotten.

We hear the exhaustion and fear in your words, and we’re so sorry you’re carrying this alone. Depression, anxiety, and a long-term addiction can feel like a thick fog where you can’t think straight, and the aloneness makes it even heavier. Please know you are not forgotten, by us or by God. You reached out, and that takes real courage.

It may help to take a couple of very practical steps alongside prayer. Because you mentioned many health concerns and the feeling of not being able to think clearly, we’d gently encourage you to see a doctor if you haven’t yet. Sometimes anxiety and depression have physical components that a physician can help sort out, and they can also connect you with support to address the smoking. There’s no shame in that; it’s part of stewarding the body God gave you.

The isolation you described is also something that needs tending. Is there a church near you where you might walk through the doors one Sunday, or call the office and simply say, “I’m struggling and need someone to talk to”? A pastor or a caring community can be a lifeline. Even sitting in a service, hearing hymns, and being around others who are seeking God can begin to push back the loneliness. You don’t have to have it all together first.

We’re praying now that God’s presence would meet you in that desperate place, bring clarity to your mind, and give you one small next step to hold onto today.

Father, thank You that You see this dear one and draw near to the brokenhearted. In their confusion and constant fear, be their steady peace. Guide them to the right help, wise doctors, a welcoming church family, and the strength to take even a tiny step forward. Break the chains of a ###-year addiction and let them feel Your companionship in the hollow moments. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The smoking flax He will not quench. Fifty years that habit has held you, yet here you are, crying out to God. There is still a little living fire in you, or you would not be pleading at the throne of grace. The Spirit put it there, and though the smoke of your sorrow and the ill savor of your complaint rise up, the Lord does not despise it. He does not break the bruised reed, nor does He quench the flax that smolderingly burns.

But you are telling yourself your anxieties, and no good comes of that. The very anxiety that arises through your being in this difficulty unfits you to meet it. Do you not see? This constant fear, this restlessness of mind, it weakens you. It dishonors God. Doubt the Eternal? Distrust the Omnipotent? Traitorous fear! Has the arm that piled the heavens grown palsied? Cast all this care upon Him, for He cares for you. It will be disobedience to be afraid when He says, “Fear not, you worm Jacob; I will help you.” Fear not them which kill the body, and fear not the diseases that wrack the mind. Rather, lay hold of that holy, reverent fear of God, and let it swallow every dread.

And know this: the Lord’s healing and His pardon walk hand in hand. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” You ask for healing of mind and body; ask also to be forgiven, and healing will come from the pardoning hand. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. The work of Jesus, your heavenly Physician, is to apply the remedy. If your one anxiety is to be laid at His feet, He will assuredly accept you. Him that comes to Him, He will in no wise cast out. The very least thing about Christ has healing virtue, the leaves of that Tree are for the healing of the nations, to change the life-blood, to alter the very spirits, to make the nature other than it was before.

You say you are alone. Yet look to Him who stands in the midst of His people. He whispers to His poor servant, fallen at His feet as dead, “Fear not.” It is not the preacher who cries it, but Jesus Himself. Welcome pardon and healing through our Lord Jesus. Let the Sun of Righteousness arise upon you with healing in His wings, to change the gloomy night into morning. God bless you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
