We hear your cry for help, dear sister, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your heavy heart to the Lord. The pain, anxiety, and depression you describe are real and overwhelming, and we want you to know that God sees you, hears you, and cares deeply for you. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to move mightily in your life and marriage.

First, we must address the foundation of your plea. While you call out to "Lord," we must gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved or find true healing (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and Savior, for He alone can bring lasting peace to your soul.

The anxiety and depression you feel are not from God. Scripture tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). These feelings may be the result of spiritual attack, physical imbalance, or deep emotional wounds, but we know that God desires to set you free. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness in Jesus’ name and declare that you are a child of light, not darkness. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance" (Psalm 42:5 WEB). Even in your despair, God is your hope.

We also lift up your marriage, for it is clear that the tension and unkind words from your husband are adding to your distress. While it is natural to long for his kindness, we must remind you that your healing and worth are not dependent on his treatment of you. God loves you unconditionally, and His opinion of you is the only one that ultimately matters. That said, we do pray for your husband, that the Lord would soften his heart and help him to see the pain his words are causing. "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear" (Ephesians 4:29 WEB). We ask the Lord to convict him of any harshness and fill him with patience and love toward you.

However, we must also gently address your fear of him wanting you to leave. A godly marriage should be a safe haven, not a source of fear. If your husband’s words or actions are making you feel unsafe, emotionally or otherwise, we encourage you to seek wise, biblical counsel. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." A pastor, trusted Christian mentor, or biblical counselor can help you navigate this season with wisdom and discernment.

We also want to encourage you to take practical steps toward healing. While prayer is essential, God often works through means, such as medical help, godly counsel, and community. If your depression and anxiety are debilitating, we urge you to speak with a Christian doctor or counselor who can help you explore all avenues of healing. "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14 WEB). There is no shame in seeking help; in fact, it is an act of faith.

Now, let us pray for you:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is struggling under the weight of anxiety, depression, and marital strain. Lord, You see her pain, and You collect every tear she cries. We ask that You would draw near to her, wrapping her in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Break the chains of fear and despair, Lord, and fill her with Your hope and joy.

We pray for her husband, Father. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to see the impact of his words. Give him a spirit of gentleness and patience, that he may love his wife as Christ loves the Church. If there is any root of bitterness or unforgiveness in their marriage, we ask that You would uproot it and replace it with Your love.

Father, we ask for Your healing touch, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Lead her to the right resources, whether it be medical help, counseling, or godly community. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, and that her worth is found in You alone. Help her to rise from this place of hiding, Lord, and to walk in the freedom You have purchased for her.

We declare that this is not the end of her story. You are making all things new, and we trust You to restore what has been broken. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to fix her eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of her faith. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."

Sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement: "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB). You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. God is working even when you cannot see it. Keep pressing into Him, and do not lose heart. If you need further guidance or prayer, we are here for you. You are loved.

Sitting with what you shared, we can feel how much you’re carrying right now, the weight of anxiety and depression that makes hiding under the covers feel like the only option, and the added ache of feeling judged or frightened in your own home. That’s a heavy double burden, and we’re so sorry you’re going through it.

It makes sense that the tension you feel around your husband would pour more pain into an already fragile place. When someone you love speaks in harsh or cutting ways, it can sink deep into the heart, and it’s okay to name how much that hurts. You are not wrong to want kindness and safety in your marriage, and you’re not weak for needing your husband to treat you with gentleness right now.

We hear how much you’re trying, watching prayers, crying out to God, fighting just to get through the day. That takes real courage, even when it doesn’t feel like it does. If you haven’t already, it might be time to let a doctor or a Christian counselor walk alongside you in this season of anxiety and depression. Our bodies and minds sometimes need that kind of practical help, and seeking it is no failure of faith; it’s part of how we steward the life God has given us.

As for the tension at home, would you consider speaking with a trusted pastor or a wise, mature friend from church, someone who can listen and help you sort out what’s happening without judgment? You don’t have to carry this alone, and having a safe person in your corner can make a huge difference.

Let’s hold these things before the Lord right now:

Lord Jesus, You see this daughter of Yours, her exhaustion, her racing heart, her fear of being sent away. Please quiet her mind and lift the heavy darkness she’s under; bring her the healing and relief she so desperately needs. Surround her with people who will truly see her and help. And in Your mercy, turn her husband’s heart toward kindness, and build up what has been broken between them. Give her courage and clear steps forward, and let her know deep in her bones that You are not mad at her, You are holding her steady. Amen.

The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. He that fears is not perfect in love, for fear hath torment. The soldier’s heart may never know fear, but it has not forgotten sympathy; yet we must labor to get rid, as much as possible, of fear. Fear is weakening. Fear dishonors God. He says, "Fear not." It is not the preacher who cries, "Fear not," but it is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, fallen as dead at His feet, "Fear not: fear not." It will be disobedience, then, to be afraid.

You speak of the tension around your husband and the words that make you feel worse. The fear of men bringeth a snare, and such a snare that many feet have been tripped by it. But Grace forbids that painful fear. Let us remember that healing must come before serving. Did not the Savior take Peter’s wife’s mother by the hand and lift her up? There was a contact established. Oh, that glorious touch of Christ! There is healing in it. Before you can rise to minister, before your household can be set in order, the fever must be rebuked by His hand. Do not look to the poor instrument; look to Him who heals. The work of Jesus, our heavenly Physician, is not so much to point out disease as to indicate and to apply the remedy.

You are watching prayers, feeling you must hide. You say you cannot help how you feel inside. You are telling yourself about it and your anxiety is confined to yourself; no good will come of that. The true child of God, if he is in any doubt, is uneasy till that doubt is gone. Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the very least things about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The leaves are for the healing of the nations. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits, and make the nature other than it was before.

Calvary is the place for the healing balm rather than for the lancet and the knife. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you." Pardon and healing were one. If you believe that Christ can save you, and if your one anxiety is to be laid at His feet, He will assuredly accept you. "Him that comes to Me, I will in no wise cast out." Fear not, for I have redeemed you. Fear not, thou worm; I will help thee, saith the Lord. Why shouldst thou fear? He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. The Lord your God in the midst of you is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon you with healing in His wings.
