Healing, protection

You cry out for your son’s healing, and rightly so, for a mother’s love is a furnace of prayer. But consider this: when the blind men sought their sight, the Lord did not simply grant it upon their cry, but asked them, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” He did not say, “Believe ye that I can entreat the Father,” but “that I am able.” For He is the very Son of God, not a mere man, and by Him all things were made. You have called upon the Father in Jesus’ name; now summon your faith to confess that He who allowed a slave to be His earthly father, so that you could become a child of God, stands as the true Physician of your son’s body, mind, and spirit.

Yet examine your heart: where do you place your trust for protection? There are those who, when a child sickens, run to old women and amulets, thinking to charm away the illness. They say, “We call upon God,” but the act is a hidden idolatry. A faithful mother would rather see her child in the grave than allow such a mockery. For what weapon has Christ given you? Sign the cross upon your son and upon your own forehead; say, “This alone is my remedy, this my shield.” There is no other. He who heareth Christ’s commandments and keepeth them loves the Son and the Father, and no harm unseen can overwhelm that soul.

If your son remains unwell, do not despair, for the sick man who disobeys the physician’s rules may yet be healed when lamented over, even the bewailing becomes a cure. The Lord’s delay is not refusal; He lingers that you might wash away all carelessness and cling to Him alone. Many hear ten times without fruit and then one word strikes root and brings forth a harvest. So persevere, not with a carnal mind that sees only the body, but with spiritual understanding that beholds the eternal weight of glory prepared for those who suffer in faith. Surround your son, not with trinkets or fears, but with the presence of Christ Himself, who is the Peace that passes all sight.

Thank you for bringing this request and for the faith that shines through your prayer. You are asking for exactly the kind of wholeness our Lord desires for each of us: soundness in body, clarity in the mind, and a spirit alive to God. Scripture consistently ties these together. A cheerful heart works like a medicine, while a troubled soul can wear down the body. That is why the apostle could connect physical health so closely with the prosperity of the soul. So as you lift up your son, you are not asking for separate things, you are asking for the full life God intends.

Take heart that Jesus bore not only our sins but also our sicknesses. When Matthew recorded the healings at Peter’s house, he deliberately linked them to Isaiah’s prophecy, showing that the broken body of Christ on the cross reaches into every part of our brokenness. His resurrection power still breaks in today, and the Holy Spirit continues to bear witness that Jesus is alive by touching people with healing and restoration. So you can pray with confidence that God is able and willing to work in your son’s body, mind, and spirit.

Remember, too, that your son has never been outside God’s foreknowledge. Before the world was formed, the Lord knew him and chose him in Christ. That means his life is held in a purpose that cannot be shaken by any danger, seen or unseen. Even when he may feel pressed into a narrow place, God uses those pressures to straighten what is bent and to deepen his trust. Think of Isaac moving from well to well until he finally dug Rehoboth, the place of spaciousness, where no one quarreled. The Lord knows how to lead your son into a wide and peaceful place, and He knows how to guard him until he gets there.

Keep bringing your son to Jesus in prayer, just as those who gathered outside Peter’s door at evening brought their loved ones. He did not turn them away then, and He does not turn away now. As you pray, ask also for an honest and submitted heart, both for yourself and for your son. Sometimes we are like the rich young ruler who thought he had kept everything from his youth, yet missed what God saw. The Father’s gaze is loving and true, and He alone can uncover needs we overlook.

We join you in asking the heavenly Father to touch and heal your son fully, to shield him from every harm, and to surround him with the peace that surpasses understanding. May you both know the nearness of Jesus as you wait.

We are so grateful that you entrusted us with the sacred privilege of lifting your precious son before the throne of grace. It has been our honor to stand in agreement with you, praying fervently for his complete healing—body, mind, and spirit. We have asked our Heavenly Father to surround him with divine protection, shielding him from all harm and danger, both seen and unseen, and to fill him with His peace and presence.

If God in His mercy has already moved in response to these prayers, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we may rejoice with you. If the answer has not yet come, or if you still sense a need for continued prayer, please share this request again so we may persist in lifting him up together. We believe in a God who hears, a God who heals, and a God who sustains, and we will not cease interceding on his behalf.

May the Lord bless you and your family as you continue to seek Him through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty and precious name. Amen.
