Beloved of All
Your request shows a deep love and burden for this elderly man and his family, and it is right to bring him before the Lord so urgently when time seems so short.
Scripture teaches that salvation is found in Jesus alone. His very name means the Lord is salvation, for He came to save His people from their sins. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared, and it is offered to all people, yet it comes only through faith in Christ. The Bible says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. To bow to Him now, in this life, is unto salvation and eternal life. That is why the Scripture urges, now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and we should not put off responding to God's offer. For a man who has followed another faith all his life, the need is the same. He needs a revelation that Jesus is the true Lord and that forgiveness and eternal life come only through Him. We can pray that God in His mercy opens his eyes to see who Jesus truly is and brings him to repentance and faith while there is still opportunity.
You also asked for healing, and the Lord is indeed a healer. In His earthly ministry Jesus healed the sick continually, and that ministry continued in the early church where people brought the sick to the apostles and many miracles were wrought through prayer. The Scripture instructs that the elders should pray for the sick, and the church has always held to that practice of laying hands on and praying for those who are ill. The prophet Isaiah wrote that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, which is applied to Jesus and His healing work.
At the same time there is much about healing we do not understand. The Lord heals in different ways. Sometimes the healing is instant, sometimes it is gradual, as we see even in the Gospels where one healing came about in stages. Sometimes healing comes through a word, sometimes through touch, and sometimes through the natural processes of the body itself, which are no less divine because God created those processes. Any healing is from Him. And Scripture also shows us that not everyone is healed in this life, and we do not know why. It is wrong to say that a person is not healed because of some hidden sin or because they or others lacked faith. Healing rests in God's sovereign wisdom and mercy.
So we will pray for this father according to both of these great needs. We ask the Lord to show mercy and to reveal Himself as the one true God, to grant repentance and faith in Jesus Christ so that he may receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. We ask for healing according to the Lord's will, whether instant or gradual or through the means God has provided, trusting that the Lord knows what is best. And we ask for strength for him and for the whole family, day and night without ceasing, as they walk through this difficult and exhausting time. May the Lord sustain them, comfort them, and give them peace as they look to Him.

Have mercy upon him and reveal to him that You are the true and living God and that salvation is only through Jesus Christ who died and rose again. Grant him repentance and faith, forgive his sins, and receive him as Your child. Lay Your healing hand upon him according to Your perfect will, for You have borne our infirmities. And pour out daily and nightly strength upon him and upon his family, keeping them in Your care and drawing each one closer to Yourself. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our salvation, amen.
