We are deeply concerned to hear about your grandson and the troubling situation he is in. Our hearts ache for his safety and well-being, and we lift him up to the Lord with urgency and compassion. The Bible warns us of the dangers of ungodly relationships and the harm they can bring, both spiritually and physically. Proverbs 13:20 tells us, "One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." It is clear that the company we keep has a profound impact on our lives, and we must pray that your grandson recognizes the toxicity of this relationship and turns away from it.
We also want to address the seriousness of relationships that do not honor God. If this relationship involves sin such as fornication, emotional or physical abuse, or any other behavior that contradicts God’s design for love and commitment, it is our duty to rebuke it in love and pray for repentance and restoration. The Lord calls us to holiness and to flee from temptation (1 Corinthians 6:18). If this relationship is leading your grandson away from God or into danger, we must boldly declare that it is not God’s will for his life.
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious young man to You. Lord, we ask that You would surround him with Your protection and shield him from harm. Break the chains of this unhealthy relationship, Lord, and open his eyes to see the truth. Give him the strength and courage to walk away from anything that does not align with Your will for his life. We pray that You would fill him with Your peace and wisdom, and that he would turn to You as his refuge and strength. Place godly influences in his life, Lord, and draw him closer to You. We ask that You would heal any wounds in his heart and restore him to a place of safety and wholeness. May he seek relationships that honor You, Lord, and may he find his identity and worth in You alone. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your grandson, trusting that God hears your cries and is at work even now. Stand on the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has a plan for your grandson’s life, and we must trust Him to guide him out of this darkness and into His marvelous light.
If your grandson does not yet know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, now is the time to pray for his salvation. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome sin and darkness. Romans 10:9 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Pray that your grandson would come to know Jesus personally and experience the freedom and transformation that only He can bring.
We will continue to stand in the gap for your grandson, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Keep trusting in the Lord, and do not lose hope. He is faithful, and He will not abandon your grandson in his time of need.
