God's will and ways for ### heart and mind ♥️♥️♥️

Servant of All
Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your goodness and for hearing my prayers. I praise you for opening this door and leading us to connect through our video call. Thank you for guiding our steps and bringing ###'s into my life.

Lord, I commit this new relationship into your hands. I ask that your will and your ways be done above all else. Please touch ###'s heart and mind. Stir a genuine romance and a deep spark within him toward me. If it is your will, let this relationship grow deep and serious, to the point where he openly and out loud declares his love for me. I pray that he sees the value in me, feels a true connection, and views me as a perfect fit for his life.

I pray that you shape him into a man with the heart of a provider—someone who is kind, loving, and ready to be a wonderful partner to me and a loving stepdad to my boys. I ask that you make a way for him to visit me soon.

Father, I lay my deepest desires before you: our future together, marriage, a petition to join him in America, and a united family with my boys as his stepsons. I trust these dreams to your perfect timing and your perfect plan. Guide our steps, protect our hearts, and let your peace lead us every day.

In Jesus' name, I pray.

Amen.

We hear your heart’s longing and lift it before the Lord with both tenderness and truth. First, we rejoice that you have invited Jesus into this prayer, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). We affirm your desire to seek God’s will above your own, and we stand with you in asking Him to guide every step of this relationship.

However, we must gently yet firmly address areas where your request does not fully align with Scripture. Your prayer focuses heavily on stirring romantic feelings in ###’s heart and shaping him into a provider for you and your sons. While it is natural to desire companionship, we must remember that God’s primary call for us is to seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33). Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), but it must never become an idol that eclipses our devotion to God. We encourage you to surrender your desires, even the deepest ones, to Him, trusting that His plans are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

We also note your emphasis on ### declaring his love for you "openly and out loud." While affection is a gift from God, we must guard against manipulating emotions or rushing God’s timing. True love is patient, kind, and not self-seeking (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Instead of praying for ### to see you as a "perfect fit," we should pray for both of you to grow in godliness, that any relationship would be built on mutual submission to Christ (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this is indeed God’s will, He will confirm it in His way and time.

Your desire for marriage and a united family is beautiful, but we must rebuke any hint of treating ### as a means to an end, whether for companionship, provision, or relocation. God calls us to love others as He loves us (John 13:34), not to use them to fulfill our own needs. If ### is not yet a believer, we urge you to prioritize his salvation above all else, for "what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he is a believer, we pray for discernment in whether this relationship honors God’s design for marriage.

Lastly, we address the physical and emotional intimacy implied in your prayer. If you and ### are not yet married, we must warn against the temptation to cultivate a "deep spark" outside of God’s boundaries. Fornication, sexual intimacy before marriage, is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We exhort you to guard your heart and body, reserving all expressions of love for the marriage covenant (Hebrews 13:4). If you are already physically intimate, we call you to repentance and restoration, for God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse and renew you (1 John 1:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this sister and her desires. Lord, we ask that You would align her heart with Yours, that she would seek Your kingdom above all else. Father, if this relationship is Your will, we pray for ###’s salvation and sanctification, draw him to Jesus, convict him of sin, and grow him into a man after Your own heart. If this is not Your plan, we ask for the strength to surrender these dreams to You, trusting that Your ways are perfect.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for both of them. Guard their hearts from impatience, idolatry, and temptation. If marriage is in Your will, prepare them both to enter it with purity, selflessness, and a shared commitment to Christ. Protect them from the enemy’s schemes, and let Your peace rule in their hearts.

Father, we ask for Your provision and guidance regarding the practical aspects of their lives, visits, relocation, and family unity. But above all, we pray that You would be glorified in every decision. May Your name be exalted, and may Your will be done.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, seeking God’s voice above your own desires. Spend time in prayer for ###, not just about him, asking God to work in his life whether or not it aligns with your hopes. Trust that God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). If this relationship is not His will, He will replace it with something far greater than you can imagine. Walk in faith, sister, and let Christ be your first love.

We hear how much hope you’re carrying right now, the excitement of a new connection, the longing for something real and lasting, and the deep desire to see your boys loved and cared for. It takes courage to open your heart like this, and we’re glad you brought it here.

What stands out to us is how earnestly you’re seeking God’s will. That’s a steady place to stand. When our hopes feel big and the unknowns stretch out ahead, one of the most grounding things we can do is slow down enough to notice what’s actually happening, not just what we hope will happen. You might find it helpful in the coming days to prayerfully sort through what you know and what you don’t yet know about this relationship. Getting those pieces clear on paper or in quiet reflection can settle the swirl and help you hear God more distinctly.

There’s something else worth holding onto: waiting doesn’t have to be passive. The act of worship, choosing to praise even when the outcome isn’t clear, can loosen the tight grip of anxiety and make space for genuine hope. As you keep bringing this before the Lord, you’re not just waiting on a man’s response; you’re being shaped in the process.

Please pray with us:

Lord, you see this dear woman and the hopes she has laid before you. Calm her heart and give her clarity. Protect her from rushing ahead or settling for less than your best. Surround her boys with stability and peace. Guide every step, and help her to trust your timing more than her fears. In Jesus’ name, amen.

To pray, "Thy will be done," and then to lay before the Lord a detailed plan of romance, relocation, and marriage is to speak from both sides of the mouth. You ask God to touch this man’s heart and stir a spark toward you, yet the language of Scripture teaches us to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live, and do this, or that.” Is it not foolish for a soul to feel she can both propose and dispose, as if the Almighty must ask our consent? The will that is not first bowed in whole-hearted consecration makes its requests amiss. Put yourself entirely at God’s disposal; a true seeking of His will does not hand Him a script.

You desire a man shaped with the heart of a provider, a partner, a stepfather to your boys. These are weighty things, but remember this: the Spirit’s work is to change the human will, making men willing in the day of God’s power. You cannot pray the Lord into forcing another’s affections as if grace violated the will. If God means to join you, He will make the path plain not by mere spark and sentiment, but by a work of grace in both hearts that delights to practice His will. Until then, beware of building a future on a foundation of earnest wishes rather than on the stone of divine command.

A genuine hunger for God’s will often begins not with a list of desires but with a deep and awful anxiety over one’s own heart. The furnace you seek for another, to shape him into a wonderful partner, may be needed first in your own soul. The furnace is a good place for the believer; it helps one become more like Christ and it consumes the dross of self-sufficiency. Are you willing to be His pupil, to learn object lessons in patience and trust, even if no visit comes soon, even if the relationship does not grow deep? The Lord’s way is in holiness, and often He empties us of our carnal trust so that a full Christ may be all.

Plead your case, yes, but let persistent prayer lead you to this catechism: Will the Lord cast off forever? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? His mercy is not twisted together with our own works or timetables. The first thing that mercy does is to turn our faces in the opposite direction, away from dictating terms, and toward a simple, childlike reliance. If you trust in Christ, you are in the Covenant, and no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. That good thing may not be a declaration of love from a man, but a deeper delight in the Law written on your own heart.

Cease striving to read a history that God in His glory has concealed. He has not revealed whether this man will visit, whether marriage will come, or whether a united family will cross the sea. What He has revealed is Himself, a God who works in Providence and grace without violating the free agency of His creatures. Meditate on His doings in your own soul. Have you been brought to hate your iniquities perfectly? Has your hope in His mercy purged out a hope in your own arrangements? When you can say, “I will not go to that city unless I can serve God there,” then you will know the sound of abundance of rain.

Lay your boys, your future, and your deep longing for companionship before the throne, but do so with hands unclenched. Pray instead that God would do His will in your heart and mind, writing His law there so that you delight in it after the inward man. Nothing but believe in Him who justifies the ungodly. Venture wholly on Jesus; let no other trust intrude. Then, whether He gives or withholds, you will find that your best profit consists of doing God’s will, and His peace will lead you every day.
