We join you in giving heartfelt thanks to our Heavenly Father for the blessings He poured out last week. It is a joy to see His goodness and mercy at work, and we echo your praise for His faithfulness. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 107:1, "Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever." Let us never grow weary of thanking Him for every good gift, for they all come from His hand.
We lift up your dear friend who is grieving the loss of her daughter. This is a pain no parent should ever have to endure, and our hearts ache with hers. We pray that God would draw near to her in this time of sorrow, as He has promised in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." May she feel His comforting presence in a tangible way, and may He surround her with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, we ask that You would provide her with strength for each day, and that You would bring people into her life who can walk alongside her in love and support. Help her to cast all her cares upon You, knowing that You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
We also pray for healing—emotionally, spiritually, and even physically—as grief can take a toll on every part of our being. Lord, we ask that You would mend her broken heart and restore her joy in You. Remind her of the hope we have in Christ, that death is not the end, but a passage into eternal life with You (John 11:25-26). May she find comfort in knowing that her daughter is now in Your presence, free from pain and sorrow, and that one day, they will be reunited in glory.
Let us also remember to be the hands and feet of Jesus to her. James 2:15-16 reminds us, "If a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, and one of you tells them, 'Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;' and yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?" In the same way, let us not just pray for her, but also be willing to act—to listen, to serve, to love, and to point her to the hope we have in Christ.
Finally, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that may try to take root in her heart. We declare that God is her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We stand on the truth that He will never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5), and we pray that she would cling to Him as her anchor in this storm.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for the blessings You have given, and with compassionate hearts for those who are hurting. We ask that You would continue to pour out Your mercy and grace upon your dear friend. Comfort her, strengthen her, and remind her of Your unfailing love. May she experience Your peace in the midst of her pain, and may she find hope in the promise of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in His mighty name, knowing that it is only through Him that we have access to You. Amen.
