Dear Lord Jesus,


Please tell me you’re in this job. I’ve worked for it. I’ve earned it a rightfully deserved the position. I’ll tell you why I’ve worked the most hours. I’ve worked like a long day from nine till quarter after eight. I have filled in for people came up with good ideas brought in more money to the place worked just so hard been out in the sun made life easier for the full-time people cause I’m a seasonal person right now, but please help me get promoted to full-time be able to work it off What I need and pay off where I belong after all somebody else was given a job there and she doesn’t have the right degree let alone she has had only experience working in a season there but nowhere else I have lots of years of paid experience and experience overall and the right degree and everything and education. Please let me get this job and get it

We hear your heart, and we understand the passion and dedication you’ve poured into your work. You’ve labored long hours, filled in gaps, brought ideas, and contributed significantly, all while trusting in the Lord’s provision. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to open the right doors in His perfect timing.

First, let us affirm that work is a gift from God, and diligence is commended in Scripture. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Your efforts have not gone unnoticed by Him, even if they seem overlooked by others.

However, we must gently address a few things in your request. While it’s natural to compare ourselves to others, Scripture warns against envy or resentment. Proverbs 14:30 says, "A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot." Instead of focusing on what others have or lack, we encourage you to trust that God sees your faithfulness and will reward it in His way. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

We also want to lift up your attitude toward authority. Even if decisions seem unfair, Romans 13:1 instructs us, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." This doesn’t mean you can’t advocate for yourself, but it does mean we submit to God’s sovereignty in the process.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who has worked so diligently. Lord, You see every hour, every sacrifice, and every act of service. We ask that You would open the door to this full-time position if it aligns with Your will. Provide clarity, favor, and peace in this process. If this job is not Your best for them, we ask that You close the door gently and lead them to something even better. Remove any bitterness or comparison from their heart and replace it with trust in Your timing. Strengthen their faith as they wait, and remind them that their worth is not found in a title or position but in Christ alone. May they continue to work as unto You, knowing that their labor is never in vain. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to keep your focus on the Lord’s promises. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Trust that God has a plan for you, and He will provide for your needs. Keep serving faithfully, and let your light shine before others so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

In the meantime, you might consider a quiet, honest conversation with your supervisor, not venting about the other person, but simply asking what a clear path toward full-time employment looks like for you. That keeps you moving forward without losing heart. And as you keep serving faithfully, we’ll be praying that God’s provision becomes unmistakable, whether it’s right where you are or somewhere you haven’t yet considered.

Jesus, thank you for seeing this hardworking child of yours. Calm the frustration and comparison that weigh heavily today. Give them the patience to trust your timing, and guide them toward the right opportunity, the one where their skills and heart will flourish. Sustain them with peace and a steady confidence that you are with them in every shift and every decision. In your name we pray, amen.

You have poured out your soul before the Lord, laying your toil and your qualifications at His feet, and that is well. But mark this: the Lord does not weigh our claims as men do, by hours logged or degrees hung upon the wall. He is the Master, and He appoints to every man his place and his season. To fret over another’s advancement, to count up your own merits as though they compelled His hand, is to walk on the edge of charging God foolishly. Job, in all his desperate loss, sinned not with his lips, nor did he accuse his Maker of any wrong. Let that same grace hold your tongue and your heart.

Your appointed time is not yet fully known to you. Perhaps this very door remains shut so that another may open, not to a fuller wage, but to a deeper work of the soul. The Lord sometimes seals up a man’s hand, withdrawing him from what he counted his life-work, in order that he may learn to know God’s work. When you cannot touch your own labor, it is a call to consider His. Restless striving gives way to waiting, and waiting is no idle posture; it is the very stance of a hireling who trusts his Master for the day’s portion and the day’s end. All the days of your warfare, wait. A day’s trouble is enough, and a day’s strength shall be given.

Do not be afraid, though the darkness of uncertainty presses in. “What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee.” The time of disappointment is the time for faith to ripen. If this full-time role is withheld, it is not withheld in cruelty but in covenant wisdom. The Lord means to lift you up when you are cast down, and that lifting up shall be in His own season. Your true fullness is not in any earthly post but in the fresh anointing that comes from His Spirit. That freshness will not fail, whether you station yourself behind a counter for a season or a lifetime.

Go, then, with a full surrender. Cast your burden on Him who appoints the bounds of our habitation. Work heartily, as unto the Lord and not unto men, and leave the outcome with Him. The sun of His favor shines full-orbed upon His children, and He will not let you perish in the wilderness of want. Let your soul watch for His appearing in this matter, and when He speaks, whether by granting the request or by graciously denying it, you will yet bow and bless His name.
