Your faithful love for your daughter and your earnest desire to see her walk in truth and freedom is heard, and I join you in bringing her before the Lord in prayer.

God's design is clear and good. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and living together outside of that covenant is not marriage. It does not carry the commitment, the protection, or the blessing that God intends for marriage. Scripture teaches that intimacy and shared life in that way belong within marriage alone, and what God has not joined together does not create an obligation to obey or to remain. Your prayer that your daughter would see this clearly is fully in line with God's word.

At the heart of every other relationship is our relationship with God. When that vertical relationship is right, the other relationships in our lives begin to come into balance. When it is out of order, every other relationship becomes strained and confused. That is why the first commands God gave concern our love and devotion to Him, and the very first command concerning our relationships with people begins in the home, to honor father and mother. God places tremendous priority on that family bond and attaches promise to it, that it may be well with you. Your daughter's true identity is not found in this young man or his family, but in belonging to God. Through Jesus Christ we are adopted into God's family, and He invites us to know Him as Father in a close, loving relationship, not a distant or legal one. The Lord says to His own, you are Mine. You belong to Me. When she remembers whose she is, she will find the courage to stop seeking approval from those who would exploit her kindness and to return to the love and wisdom of the family God has given her.

We see in Scripture how God calls His people to return to their family and to the place He has appointed, with the promise that He will be with them. I pray that same call and promise over your daughter, that she would hear the Lord drawing her back to wholeness, to gratitude, to respect for others, to independence and self worth rooted in Christ, and to the unconditional love of her family. What is now marked by division, isolation, chaos, disrespect and exhaustion can be restored as she walks away from what is not God's will for her.

I also pray for supernatural clarity to flood her mind. Love does not exploit, manipulate, control, isolate, or use another's finances for selfish gain. Love does not demand that a daughter dishonor her parents or turn from the faith she was raised in to please another. Jesus has lifted the honor and value of women, and your daughter is not to be used but cherished. I pray her eyes will be opened to see the red flags without excuse, to recognize that what feels like love is in fact being used, and to understand that a controlling and dishonest pattern is a sign that a man is not ready for a godly relationship.

I join you in praying for her protection and focus at her conference, that she would be guarded from distraction and negative influence, that she would prioritize the work God has entrusted to her and experience His favor and blessing there, and that thankfulness for that opportunity would be restored. I pray that undue responsibilities placed on her by others would be lifted, that boundaries would be respected, that this young man would be shown he does not have authority over her, and that those who have encouraged this ungodly arrangement would be convicted to step back and take responsibility for their own household instead of directing your daughter's life. I pray your daughter will no longer confide in voices that lead her away from her family and from obedience to her parents, and that she will stop trading her self worth for approval that is not life giving.

For you and your family, I pray for a shield of God's presence to go before you, for supernatural strength, courage, grace and peace as you stand for biblical truth with love. You are not alone in facing disrespect and strife for holding to what is right. I plead the covering of Jesus Christ over you and your children, remembering the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. May the Holy Spirit saturate your home with peace, love, protection and healing, and may He restore unity, purpose and joy.

Father, in the name of Jesus, open this dear daughter's eyes and heart. Speak to her mind and spirit that she belongs to You. Break every stubborn and ungodly hold upon her swiftly and without regret. Lead her out of this dark path into freedom in You, restoring her self worth, her independence, her gratefulness, and her love for family. Guide her steps to move back home in Your timing and keep her in Your perfect protection. Provide for her, protect her, and restore all that has been taken. Let her friends speak truth in love, and let her hear Your voice above every other voice. Do what only You can do, for nothing is impossible with You. Amen.
