Freedom, Protection, Restoration and Breakthrough

Your prayer has been heard and your burden for your daughter is understood. The love and concern you carry as a parent reflects the heart of God who sees your daughter as precious and deeply valued. In ancient times many cultures did not treasure daughters and counted only sons as valuable, but Scripture shows God sees differently. He sees your daughter as one who belongs to Him, made in His image, worthy of honor, protection and respect.

God's design for intimacy and shared life is clear in Scripture. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in His eyes, and it does not carry the covenant, commitment and covering that marriage does. A lifelong covenant between one man and one woman is His good plan for that union. When that boundary is ignored, confusion, control and hurt often follow. What you are describing, the obsessive insecurity, the pressure not to attend work responsibilities, the discouragement about her job, the control of finances, the isolation from family and friends, the manipulation and disrespect, is not love. Love does not exploit, isolate or use. Love protects, honors and builds up.

Scripture also shows how seriously God takes the purity and protection of daughters. When Dinah was harmed, her family was grieved and angry because a disgraceful thing had been done, a thing which ought not to be done. That holy concern for what is right and for the line of promise was not misplaced. Your desire to guard your daughter and to call what is wrong by its true name is right and good. At the same time Scripture shows that God knows how to deliver those who are His. As He delivered Lot who was vexed by the ungodly life around him, He is able to deliver your daughter from a vexing and oppressive situation. He sees the spiritual attack, the division, the chaos and the exhaustion this has brought on your family.

There is also hope of restoration. The story of Ruth reminds us that a virtuous woman is praised by all who know her, and that God can bring restoration of life and nourishment even after a season of loss. He can restore self worth, independence, gratitude, peace and unity with family. Under the law a father could redeem his daughter from a rash vow for a price, showing that God has made a way of redemption rather than destruction. How much more has Christ paid the price to redeem and reclaim His own. Your daughter does not have to prove her worth to earn approval from those who are using her. She already belongs to God and is fully loved by Him and by the family He has given her.

We join you in prayer for these things.

We pray for protection over your daughter as she travels for her work conference and for her safe return. We pray that God will surround her and you and your whole family as a shield, that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and that you will be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.

We pray for supernatural clarity to flood her mind and heart. That the Holy Spirit will open her eyes to see the red flags without excuse, to understand that she is being used and not loved, and to hear His voice saying you are Mine, you belong to Me and I will protect you with all My power. We pray that the stubborn hold of manipulation, control, dishonesty, jealousy and laziness will be broken swiftly and completely, and that she will no longer feel obligated to obey or idolize one who is not her husband.

We pray that she will be freed from the false idea that cohabitation is marriage and from treating finances and decisions as if they belong to another. We pray that she will honor God and honor her parents as Scripture commands, that she will treasure the family God has blessed her with, and that she will no longer trade her convictions and upbringing to please others. We pray that she will stop confiding in those who give ungodly and selfish counsel and that she will be blocked from advice that encourages disobedience and division.

We pray for those influencing her. That the young man's mother and father will take proper responsibility for their own son, that they will stop placing undue responsibility on your daughter and stop overstepping boundaries, and that they will speak truth to him that he is not ready for a relationship and needs to return to his own home and take responsibility for his own life.

We pray for your daughter's friends to have courage to speak the truth in love about the exploitation, isolation and disrespect they see. We pray for her work, that she will again appreciate the purpose and blessing God has given her there and not walk away under ungodly pressure.

We pray for you as her parent, for supernatural strength, courage, grace and favor as you navigate this difficult situation. That you will stand firm in biblical truth with love, that God will fill you and your household with His Holy Spirit, with peace, healing and favor in every part of your lives.

Nothing is impossible with God. He is able to provide, protect and restore everything that has been strained or taken. We trust Him to guide your daughter out of this dark path and to bring her back to a place of freedom, wholeness and joyful fellowship with Him and with her family, with no regrets but with renewed respect for others and for herself. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our salvation and hope.
