Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer has been heard, and the burden you carry for your older daughter is understood. It is painful to watch a child you raised in biblical truth walk down a dark path, become hostile and ungrateful, and give her loyalty to a relationship that does not honor God. Your desire for her freedom, protection, and restoration is right and good, and we join you in bringing her before the Lord.
Scripture is clear that living together outside of marriage is not marriage. Marriage is a lifelong covenant before God between one man and one woman, and it is meant to be honored by all. What is happening now is not a marriage and should not be treated as one, with its obligations, obedience, and shared finances. God has not called your daughter to give herself in that way outside of His design, and true love does not exploit, manipulate, isolate, control, or use another person for selfish gain. We do not ask God to bless that arrangement, we ask Him to deliver her from it and to lead her into purity and wholeness in Him.
At the heart of every other relationship is our relationship with God. When that relationship is right, other relationships begin to come into balance, and when it is broken, every other relationship suffers. Sin always separates us from God, and that separation shows itself in disrespect, division, and confusion at home. The first commandment that deals with how we treat one another is to honor father and mother, and God puts tremendous priority on that family bond. Your prayer that your daughter would again honor her parents, be thankful for the family God gave her, and find her identity as a daughter who belongs to God and not to this young man is deeply biblical. God wants to be her Father in a close, loving, living relationship, not a distant or ritual one. He lays claim to His children and says, you are Mine, I will be your God and you will be My people. For that reason He also says, come out from among them and be separate and touch not the unclean thing.
God knows how to deliver the righteous even when they are surrounded by corruption and ungodly influence. Just as He delivered Lot who was distressed by the conduct around him, He sees your daughter and your family now. A polluted environment will touch everyone in it, and it is clear that the selfish counsel and overstepping influence of this young man's mother, and his own rebellious and dishonest behavior, have become a heavy and ungodly yoke on your daughter. It is not her responsibility to fix him or to carry what belongs to his own family. It is right to pray that his parents would take responsibility for their son, that his father would exercise proper authority, and that your daughter would be released from undue responsibilities, financial exploitation, and the pressure to please others at the cost of her own self worth, independence, and peace.
We pray with you now for supernatural clarity to flood her mind. May the Lord open her eyes to see the red flags she has been excusing, to understand that she is being used and not loved, and to recognize that control and jealousy are not love or security. May He restore the humble, respectful, grateful spirit she was raised with, and renew her thankfulness for her work, her family, and her faith. May He block every disrespectful and jealous influence over her decisions, guard her at her conference and in her daily work, and keep her from distraction and negative instigation. May He break the stubborn hold this relationship has had on her heart and mind, and guide her to walk away swiftly with no regrets, finding again her freedom, independence, and purpose in Christ and the unconditional love of the family God has blessed her with.
We also pray for you. May the Lord go before you as a shield as you stand for biblical truth, and may He give you supernatural strength, courage, grace, favor, and protection. We plead the blood of Jesus Christ over you and your children and claim the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. May the Holy Spirit fill every part of your home with peace, love, healing, and unity, and may He remove division, isolation, chaos, and exhaustion brought by this ungodly relationship.
Continue to speak truth in love, to set healthy boundaries, and to trust the Lord to provide, protect, and restore what has been strained. Nothing is impossible for Him, and He is able to bring your daughter back to her first love for Him and to a right relationship with her family. We stand with you in faith for her complete restoration. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
