Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your faithful and anguished prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with love and agreement.
We stand with you in affirming what Scripture teaches, that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, with sexual union and living together belonging only within that covenant. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage in God's eyes, and we will not ask God to bless what He calls us to turn from. Instead we ask Him to bring conviction, clarity, and freedom, which is exactly what you have prayed for.
We pray with you for your older daughter. We ask the Lord to open her eyes to see this relationship clearly, to recognize manipulation, control, dishonesty and exploitation for what they are, and to understand that this is not love. We pray that God will remind her that she belongs to Him, that her worth and identity are in Christ, and that He will restore her independence, self respect, gratitude and joy in the work and family He has given her. We ask Him to break every ungodly hold and influence over her, to silence jealous and selfish counsel, to protect her mind and heart at her conference and in her daily work, and to give her courage to walk away swiftly and without regret and to return to the safety and love of her family and her faith community.
We also pray for this young man and his family. We ask God to convict him of rebellion, laziness, dishonesty and controlling behavior, and to show him that he is not ready for a relationship and must take responsibility for his own life. We pray his parents, especially his father and mother, will take proper responsibility for their son, stop placing undue burdens on your daughter, stop encouraging what is outside God's will, and stop overstepping boundaries that do not belong to them.
We pray for you and your family. We ask God to be your shield as you stand for biblical truth with grace, to give you supernatural strength, wisdom and peace, to guard you from strife and disrespect, and to keep your home united in love. Continue to love your daughter without approving what is wrong, keep the door open, maintain healthy boundaries around finances and influence, seek wise counsel from your pastor and trusted believers, and keep entrusting her to the Lord who is able to do what is impossible for us.
We declare with you that no weapon formed against you and your children shall prosper, and we trust that the Lord who sees all will provide, protect and restore. May He fill you all with His Holy Spirit, with peace, favor and healing, and may your daughter hear His voice saying she is His and she is safe in Him.
We will continue to pray for supernatural clarity for your daughter, for her complete release and return home, for the restoration of her thankfulness and fellowship with family, and for your strength in the days ahead. In Jesus name, Amen.
