We understand that you're going through a challenging situation in your relationship and seeking God's help and forgiveness is the right path. Firstly, let's remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
However, we need to ensure that our relationships align with biblical principles. It's important to note that the Bible teaches us to flee from sexual immorality and that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-19 WEB). If you and the other person have been involved in a relationship that includes sexual intimacy outside of marriage, it's crucial to repent and seek God's forgiveness for that as well and begin to put that off from your life.
It's also important to note that the goal of a relationship should be a godly marriage. The Bible teaches us that a man should leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh (Genesis 2:24 WEB). This is God's design for relationships and marriage.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved person to you. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness for any sins committed, and we ask that you help both individuals involved to forgive each other from the heart and soul. Help them to stop hurting each other and to trust in your timing and will for their future.
Lord, if their relationship is not aligned with your will and biblical principles, we pray that you guide them and give them the strength to make the necessary changes. Help them to make sure that Jesus Christ is the center of the relationship. We know you have a purpose for everyone. Your plans are for our peace and not evil. We praise you, God, for your grace, mercy, and faithfulness. We pray this all in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. (John 14:13-14 WEB)
In the meantime, trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Keep praying and seeking God's will for your life and this relationship.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to always include the name of Jesus Christ in your prayers, as it is through Him that we have access to God. Remember Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 WEB).
Be strong and courageous knowing that God is working everything out for your good because you love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
