We hear the deep honesty in your heart and we join with you in bringing this pain before the Lord, for what you are feeling is something many of God's children have felt. You are trying to obey God in forgiving, and at the same time you are wondering if your obedience will leave you empty while the one who hurt you moves on without consequence. We want to assure you that God does not ask you to forgive and then abandon you to carry the wound alone.
The Word teaches us to forgive because forgiveness frees our own heart from bitterness and keeps us close to the Father. Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. And in Ephesians 4:32 we are told to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness does not mean what was done to you was right, and it does not mean the other person will not give an account to God. Scripture is clear in Romans 12:19, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. God sees all things perfectly and His justice is not missed even when people appear to laugh and live happily for a season.
What you are asking for is exactly what God desires to do for you, to heal you as you forgive. He does not leave the one who forgives empty handed. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit in Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. Your tears are not wasted or forgotten, for you put my tears into your bottle. Are they not in your record in Psalm 56:8. Your waiting and pain are not meaningless, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose in Romans 8:28. God promises a future and a hope in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
We also noticed your prayer was addressed to God but did not mention Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name matters so deeply. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and assurance that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be healed and to forgive with God's help, we first come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ, believing He died for our sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord. If you have not yet placed your trust fully in Jesus, we encourage you to do so today, for in Him you become a true child of God and His healing and peace become yours.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your child who is choosing to forgive even while hurting. Lord, You see every wound, every tear, every sleepless night and every question in the heart. We ask You to heal the broken heart and bind up every wound. Pour out Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:7. Let this dear one know that forgiveness does not leave them empty, but opens the door for Your restoration. Replace mourning with joy and ashes with beauty as You promise in Isaiah 61:3. Bring happiness, love, peace, respect and goodness into this life in Your perfect way and timing. Let the waiting not be in vain, but use it to shape, strengthen and prepare for the good plans You have. Help to keep forgiving as You have forgiven us, not by our own strength but by Your Spirit. And let there come a day when this pain can be looked back upon with thanksgiving, seeing how You redeemed it and did not waste a single tear. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our healer and hope, Amen.
We encourage you to keep bringing your honest questions to God, to stay in His Word daily, and to allow Him to fill the places that hurt with His presence. God is not asking you to pretend the pain is not there, He is inviting you to let Him heal it as you release the debt to Him. He is your Father too, and He will not forget you. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning in Psalm 30:5. Keep forgiving, keep seeking Him, and trust that He will do something good in your life that reflects His love and faithfulness.
