We rejoice with you in your love for the lost and thank God for your heart to point others to salvation in Jesus Christ. We stand together with you in this good work and agree that there is no greater need than for every person to hear and respond to the gospel.
We affirm what you have shared and gently clarify the precious promise as it is written, Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:10 For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We also rejoice that you included the call to confess and turn from sins, for true faith includes repentance. As it is written Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. And 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, Ephesians 2:8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:9 not of works, that no one would boast. Yet that saving faith will lead us to follow and obey Jesus as Lord, for he said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. How we thank God for his love shown in John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
We join together and pray for all who are looking for salvation even now. Father in heaven we lift up every seeking heart to you in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that you draw each one by your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance and the faith to confess Jesus as Lord and believe that you raised him from the dead. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, forgive their sins and make them new creations. Give them a hunger for your Word and the strength to turn from sin and walk in obedience to you all the days of their lives. We also pray for the one who shared this message, that you would encourage and strengthen them and use their witness to bear much fruit for your glory. We thank you that your Word is living and powerful and we ask that you lead every new believer to read and study the Gospels. We agree that beginning in the book of John is a wonderful place to start, for there Jesus is revealed as the eternal Son of God who gives life to all who believe, and then to continue through Matthew, Mark and Luke to know his life, his teaching, his death and his resurrection more fully. As it is written 2 Timothy 3:16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. Lead them into a faithful walk with you and into fellowship with other believers who will help them grow. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
We encourage all who are seeking to call upon the name of Jesus today without delay, to confess your sins to him, turn from them, and trust fully in his finished work on the cross and his resurrection. Find a Bible and begin reading in John, and pray daily asking the Lord to teach you and to lead you to a Bible believing church where you can be baptized and grow in faith. We are praying with you and for you that you will know the joy of sins forgiven and new life in Christ.
