😓 Dreams While Sleeping, Job 33:12-17; Joel 2:28, Numb 12:6, Acts 16:9-10, from Holy Spirit...

Father, we come as little children in faith, contrary to all we see and hear, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Christ, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34. Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. We ask, with this husband for his wife, You give her a dream, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as our father, Abraham, we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21 as written in Joel 2:28, ā€œAnd afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Matt 1:20, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Gen 20:3, Gen 31:24, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1. Thank You in in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name.

We hear your earnest plea, lifting up this husband’s desire for his wife to receive a dream from the Lord, a divine communication in the night watches, as Scripture affirms. Indeed, the Word declares that God speaks in dreams and visions, not only to His people but even to those outside the covenant, that He might turn hearts, warn of danger, or reveal His will (Job 33:14-17, Joel 2:28, Numbers 12:6). We stand with you in faith, believing that the same God who guided Joseph in a dream to protect the Christ child (Matthew 2:13) and called Paul to Macedonia through a night vision (Acts 16:9-10) is still active today.

Yet we must also examine this request with discernment, for not every dream is from the Lord. Scripture warns that the heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9), and even well-meaning desires can be tainted by our own flesh or the enemy’s schemes. We urge this husband, and all who seek divine dreams, to test every spirit (1 John 4:1) and weigh such experiences against the unchanging truth of God’s Word. Does the dream align with Scripture? Does it produce godly fruit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness (Galatians 5:22-23)? Or does it stir up fear, confusion, or division? The enemy can disguise himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), so we must be vigilant.

We also note that your prayer does not explicitly acknowledge the necessity of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. While you quote Hebrews 7:25, which speaks of Christ’s intercession, we must emphasize that dreams, no matter how vivid, cannot replace the finished work of the cross. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this wife has not surrendered her life to Christ, no dream will bring lasting peace or direction apart from repentance and faith in Him. We pray she would not only receive dreams from the Lord but also awaken to the reality of her need for a Savior.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). We thank You that You are a God who speaks, through Your Word, through prayer, and yes, even through dreams. We ask that You would indeed grant this wife a dream from Your Holy Spirit, one that reveals Your will, warns of danger, or confirms Your promises. Let it be a dream that draws her closer to You, not to mysticism or superstition. Guard her heart from deception, and let her test every spirit against the truth of Scripture.

We pray for this husband, that his faith would not waver as he waits for Your answer. Strengthen his trust in You, knowing that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). May he lead his household in godliness, modeling Christ’s love and patience.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in this marriage, any bitterness, unforgiveness, or idolatry, we ask that You would reveal it and bring repentance. Let their home be a place where Your Spirit dwells, where dreams are not sought for selfish gain but for Your glory.

We declare that Your arm is not too short to save (Isaiah 50:2), and Your ear is not too dull to hear (Isaiah 59:1). You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and we trust You to speak in the way You choose. May this wife, and all who seek You, hear Your voice clearly, whether through dreams, Your Word, or the still small whisper of Your Spirit.

In Jesus’ name, the name above every name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the love and faith in your prayer for your wife, wanting so much for her to clearly know God's will and nearness. That kind of intercession honors Him.

We join you in asking God to make His leading clear to both of you in the way He knows is best. While He has at times used dreams, we have also seen Him guide most steadily through His Word, the quiet work of the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, and the peace He gives as we walk with Him day by day. It helps to hold any dream or impression lightly and weigh it together against what Scripture already shows us of His character and will.

A simple step that has helped other couples is to keep praying together out loud each evening for a few minutes, sharing honestly what you each feel the Lord is teaching you that day, and writing down anything that seems significant to revisit later with a trusted pastor or mentor. It keeps you united and attentive without putting pressure on a single experience to carry everything.

Father, we thank You for this husband's love for his wife and for Your faithful care for them both. Draw them closer to You and to each other, give them wisdom, clarity and peace as they seek You, and lead them step by step in Your perfect will. We trust You to speak and to guide in Your time and way. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer as a husband for your wife has been heard, and it is good that you come as a little child in faith, pleading the power of Him who is able to save forever those who come to God through Christ, because He lives to make intercession for us.

You have well remembered that with God nothing shall be impossible, and that what is impossible with man is possible with God. It is right to lay hold upon such promises by faith, and having once drawn upon the great bank of Divine Mercy, to go again with the same word and get as much from the liberal hand of God as we did before. Yet we must remember also that there is no attribute more comforting to His children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty, and we must learn to recognize and admire God's hand in everything, and to bow with submission to His will.

You ask that the Lord would speak to your wife in a dream, as it is written, For God does speak, now one way, now another, though no one perceives it, in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people. We do not doubt that the Lord can do this. Many besides Pilate have been warned by dreams. We have an instance in Pilate's wife, who being warned in a dream, sent to her husband concerning the Just One. And though dreams ordinarily are the most disorderly of phenomena, yet it seems that they are ordered of the Lord. He who guides all things can guide even the disorderly wanderings of the mind in sleep, and can make a dream accessible to the conscience.

Yet we must add that the Lord has not left us to depend upon such disorderly phenomena for our sure guidance. The Scriptures show us that His ordinary way of leading His people is not by seeking visions, but by principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide. Among these are to avoid everything that is evil, to bow with submission to the will of God, and to be furnished with unerring guidance through His Word. The prophet himself was not content with merely beholding visions, but had to ask, What are these, and to seek the interpretation from the Lord. So we also must search the Scriptures and ask for wisdom.

Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, and we do not know ourselves if we think we can dispense with the divine signs which Christ has appointed. He has said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Till Jesus fails, till He sins, till He ceases to be Divine, the soul that trusts Him must be secure. Divine interpositions of a more striking sort would not of themselves convert the heart if the heart is not wrought upon by His divine Spirit. It is His Spirit which must work all our works in us.

Therefore we will pray with you, not as those who would command the Lord, but as those who acquiesce in the Divine will. We ask the Father, if it please Him, to speak in mercy to your wife, whether by a dream in the night, or by the still small voice of His Word and Spirit in the day, to turn her from wrongdoing and keep her from pride, to preserve her from the pit. We pray that He would pour out His Spirit and make His will plain, and that He would give you both grace to follow the good words and comfortable words which He speaks in the Gospel. We pray above all that she, and you, may be found trusting in Christ alone for salvation, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and that your marriage may be strengthened as a lifelong covenant before Him, kept in holiness and love.

We commend you to Him whose arm is not too short to save, and who in infinite affection often tears away our comforts that He may teach us to fly as the eagle trains her young. May He guide you with His counsel, and afterward receive you to glory.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your wife has been heard, and your confidence in the power of God to save and to keep is right and good. It is true as you have said, that He is able to save forever those who come to God through Christ, because He lives to make intercession for us, and that nothing is impossible with God. That confidence is the foundation for all prayer offered in Jesus name.

You have asked that God would speak to your wife in a dream in the night, and you have rightly quoted those places where Scripture shows that God has at times done so. In Job it is said that God speaks in a dream to turn a person from wrongdoing and keep them from pride and to preserve them from the pit. Through Joel the Lord promised to pour out His Spirit, and in Numbers and in Acts we see visions and dreams given to prophets and to apostles for the directing of His work. God is sovereign and His arm is not too short to save, and He can speak in whatever way He wills.

Yet the Scriptures and the teaching of the church also call us to great sobriety about dreams. The present life itself is often described as a kind of sleep, and many of the things we chase in it are like dreams that prove to be nothing when we awake. Riches and glory and the pleasures of this world are fleeting as a dream, and the one who is given to vice sees nothing in its true light but is full of fancies. For this reason we are urged to watch and be sober, to shake off sleep and to put on virtue as garments, and to look to the Sun of Righteousness who is Christ. When the heart is not stifled by excess and the soul is orderly before God, sleep itself becomes composed and regular, and dreams are not full of wild fancies and monstrous visions. But to seek after dreams as the sure sign of God's will can lead us astray, for it is possible to sleep even while awake by doing nothing good, and to be drunk not only with wine but with every sin that dulls the soul.

This does not mean God never works in this way, but it means we should not demand a dream as proof that He has heard us, nor make our faith rest on whether a dream comes. We have something more sure. We have Christ revealed in Scripture, we have His intercession for us, and we have His Spirit speaking through the Word that is already given. The vision given to Paul in Acts was for the advance of the gospel at a decisive moment in the apostolic mission, and the promise in Joel was fulfilled when the Spirit was poured out at Pentecost, leading people to prophesy and to know Christ. The ordinary and faithful way God turns us from wrongdoing and keeps us from pride is by His Word, by prayer, by repentance, and by a wakeful life of love and obedience.

So continue to pray for your wife as you have done, with humble confidence and with thanksgiving. Pray that God would make His will clear to her through the Scriptures, through the quiet work of His Spirit in her conscience, and through the life of faith you live before her. Love her and honor her as your wife in this lifelong covenant, seek only her health and holiness and not mere feeling, and be diligent in the care of spiritual things. Read the Word together, keep a simple and orderly life, watch and be sober, and ask the Lord to keep you both from the sleep of wickedness and to clothe you in Christ.

May the Lord who is the same yesterday and today and forever grant you both to awake more fully to His day, to lay aside the imaginings and deep slumber of this present life, and to walk in repentance and faith. May He turn you both from all wrongdoing, preserve you from the pit, and keep you in the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, until you stand before Him with joy.

Your prayer coming as little children in faith is precious to the Lord, and it rests on truth. He is able to save completely those who come to God through Jesus, because Jesus lives to intercede for us. What is impossible with man is possible with God, and nothing is impossible with Him. To come with humble confidence, believing that He hears and that He rewards those who seek Him, honors Him.

Scripture shows that God has at times spoken through dreams and visions. In Job we read that God speaks in one way, then another, though people may not perceive it, in a dream or a vision of the night when deep sleep falls, to warn, to turn a person from wrongdoing and from pride, and to preserve life from the pit. Through Moses we learn that the Lord said He would make Himself known to a prophet in a vision and speak in a dream. Joel promises that when God pours out His Spirit, sons and daughters will prophesy, old men will dream dreams and young men will see visions. In Acts, Paul was guided by a night vision calling him to Macedonia. You also mentioned how God did this with both those who belonged to Him and those who did not, in Genesis with Abimelech and Laban, with Pharaoh and his servants, with Nebuchadnezzar, and in Matthew with Joseph being warned and directed. In those accounts the dreams carried spiritual weight, and God gave the interpretation. Daniel did not take credit for understanding the king's dream, but sought God in prayer with his friends, and the secret was revealed in a night vision, and he gave glory to God alone. Joseph likewise pointed to God when the butler, the baker, and Pharaoh were troubled by dreams that no one else could explain.

We can be open to the Lord speaking in this way and would find it wonderful if He chose to do so, yet not every dream is from God. Many dreams are simply part of natural sleep. When God does speak, what He says will never contradict what He has already said in Scripture, and His primary and sure way of speaking to us today is through His Word. So we ask humbly, not demanding a sign, but submitting to His wisdom and His will, trusting that His arm is not too short to save and that He knows how to reach a heart.

I am encouraged by your heart as a husband to intercede for your wife. That intercession reflects the intercession of Christ Himself. In marriage God has made husband and wife to belong to one another, to show kindness and goodwill to each other, not to withhold themselves but to care for one another with mutual consent and love. He calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, faithfully and sacrificially, and wives to respect their husbands. When that simple pattern is followed, the home becomes a place of peace. Even when only one believes, that faith brings a holy influence into the home that covers the family. Continue to love your wife in that steady, Christlike way, to pray for her, and to live the gospel before her so that she is won by love and truth.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You that You hear us and that You are able to do all things. We ask according to Your will that You would work in this wife's heart and in this home. If it pleases You, speak to her in a dream or vision of the night as You have done in Scripture, to turn her from any wrong way, to keep her from pride, to preserve her and to make Your will in Christ Jesus clear to her. Pour out Your Spirit upon her and upon this family. Guide them by Your Word above all, and give this husband wisdom, patience, and love as he continues to intercede. We trust You in advance, believing You are faithful to Your promises, and we ask this in Jesus' name, amen.
