Father, we come as little children in faith, contrary to all we see and hear, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Christ, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34. Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. We ask, with this husband for his wife, You give her a dream, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as our father, Abraham, we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21 as written in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Matt 1:20, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Gen 20:3, Gen 31:24, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1. Thank You in in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name.

We hear your earnest plea, lifting up this husband’s desire for his wife to receive a dream from the Lord, a divine communication in the night watches, as Scripture affirms. Indeed, the Word declares that God speaks in dreams and visions, not only to His people but even to those outside the covenant, that He might turn hearts, warn of danger, or reveal His will (Job 33:14-17, Joel 2:28, Numbers 12:6). We stand with you in faith, believing that the same God who guided Joseph in a dream to protect the Christ child (Matthew 2:13) and called Paul to Macedonia through a night vision (Acts 16:9-10) is still active today.

Yet we must also examine this request with discernment, for not every dream is from the Lord. Scripture warns that the heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9), and even well-meaning desires can be tainted by our own flesh or the enemy’s schemes. We urge this husband, and all who seek divine dreams, to test every spirit (1 John 4:1) and weigh such experiences against the unchanging truth of God’s Word. Does the dream align with Scripture? Does it produce godly fruit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness (Galatians 5:22-23)? Or does it stir up fear, confusion, or division? The enemy can disguise himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), so we must be vigilant.

We also note that your prayer does not explicitly acknowledge the necessity of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. While you quote Hebrews 7:25, which speaks of Christ’s intercession, we must emphasize that dreams, no matter how vivid, cannot replace the finished work of the cross. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this wife has not surrendered her life to Christ, no dream will bring lasting peace or direction apart from repentance and faith in Him. We pray she would not only receive dreams from the Lord but also awaken to the reality of her need for a Savior.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). We thank You that You are a God who speaks, through Your Word, through prayer, and yes, even through dreams. We ask that You would indeed grant this wife a dream from Your Holy Spirit, one that reveals Your will, warns of danger, or confirms Your promises. Let it be a dream that draws her closer to You, not to mysticism or superstition. Guard her heart from deception, and let her test every spirit against the truth of Scripture.

We pray for this husband, that his faith would not waver as he waits for Your answer. Strengthen his trust in You, knowing that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). May he lead his household in godliness, modeling Christ’s love and patience.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in this marriage, any bitterness, unforgiveness, or idolatry, we ask that You would reveal it and bring repentance. Let their home be a place where Your Spirit dwells, where dreams are not sought for selfish gain but for Your glory.

We declare that Your arm is not too short to save (Isaiah 50:2), and Your ear is not too dull to hear (Isaiah 59:1). You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and we trust You to speak in the way You choose. May this wife, and all who seek You, hear Your voice clearly, whether through dreams, Your Word, or the still small whisper of Your Spirit.

We join you in asking God to make His leading clear to both of you in the way He knows is best. While He has at times used dreams, we have also seen Him guide most steadily through His Word, the quiet work of the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, and the peace He gives as we walk with Him day by day. It helps to hold any dream or impression lightly and weigh it together against what Scripture already shows us of His character and will.

Father, we thank You for this husband's love for his wife and for Your faithful care for them both. Draw them closer to You and to each other, give them wisdom, clarity and peace as they seek You, and lead them step by step in Your perfect will. Your prayer as a husband for your wife has been heard, and it is good that you come as a little child in faith, pleading the power of Him who is able to save forever those who come to God through Christ, because He lives to make intercession for us.

You have well remembered that with God nothing shall be impossible, and that what is impossible with man is possible with God. It is right to lay hold upon such promises by faith, and having once drawn upon the great bank of Divine Mercy, to go again with the same word and get as much from the liberal hand of God as we did before. Yet we must remember also that there is no attribute more comforting to His children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty, and we must learn to recognize and admire God's hand in everything, and to bow with submission to His will.

You ask that the Lord would speak to your wife in a dream, as it is written, For God does speak, now one way, now another, though no one perceives it, in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people. We do not doubt that the Lord can do this. Many besides Pilate have been warned by dreams. We have an instance in Pilate's wife, who being warned in a dream, sent to her husband concerning the Just One. And though dreams ordinarily are the most disorderly of phenomena, yet it seems that they are ordered of the Lord. He who guides all things can guide even the disorderly wanderings of the mind in sleep, and can make a dream accessible to the conscience.

Yet we must add that the Lord has not left us to depend upon such disorderly phenomena for our sure guidance. The Scriptures show us that His ordinary way of leading His people is not by seeking visions, but by principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide. Among these are to avoid everything that is evil, to bow with submission to the will of God, and to be furnished with unerring guidance through His Word. The prophet himself was not content with merely beholding visions, but had to ask, What are these, and to seek the interpretation from the Lord. So we also must search the Scriptures and ask for wisdom.

Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, and we do not know ourselves if we think we can dispense with the divine signs which Christ has appointed. He has said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Till Jesus fails, till He sins, till He ceases to be Divine, the soul that trusts Him must be secure. Divine interpositions of a more striking sort would not of themselves convert the heart if the heart is not wrought upon by His divine Spirit. It is His Spirit which must work all our works in us.

Therefore we will pray with you, not as those who would command the Lord, but as those who acquiesce in the Divine will. We ask the Father, if it please Him, to speak in mercy to your wife, whether by a dream in the night, or by the still small voice of His Word and Spirit in the day, to turn her from wrongdoing and keep her from pride, to preserve her from the pit. We pray that He would pour out His Spirit and make His will plain, and that He would give you both grace to follow the good words and comfortable words which He speaks in the Gospel. We pray above all that she, and you, may be found trusting in Christ alone for salvation, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and that your marriage may be strengthened as a lifelong covenant before Him, kept in holiness and love.

We commend you to Him whose arm is not too short to save, and who in infinite affection often tears away our comforts that He may teach us to fly as the eagle trains her young. May He guide you with His counsel, and afterward receive you to glory.
