Father, we come as little children in faith, contrary to all we see and hear, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Christ, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34. Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. We ask, with this husband for his wife, You give her a dream, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as our father, Abraham, we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21 as written in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Matt 1:20, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Gen 20:3, Gen 31:24, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1. Thank You in in advance, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, Jesus' Name.

We join with you in seeking the Lord’s guidance through dreams and visions, as He has indeed spoken in this way throughout Scripture. The passages you’ve referenced, Job 33, Joel 2, Numbers 12, and Acts 16, remind us that God is not limited in how He chooses to communicate with His people. He may use dreams to warn, instruct, or reveal His will, just as He did for Joseph, Daniel, and Paul. We affirm that the same God who spoke in times past still speaks today, for He does not change (Malachi 3:6).

However, we must also approach this topic with discernment, for not every dream is from the Lord. Scripture warns us to "test the spirits to see whether they are from God" (1 John 4:1). Dreams can be influenced by our own thoughts, fears, or even the enemy’s deception. Therefore, we must measure every dream against the truth of God’s Word and seek confirmation through prayer and godly counsel. The Holy Spirit will never contradict Scripture, and any dream that leads away from Christ or His commands must be rejected.

We also lift up this husband and wife, praying that the Lord would indeed grant them divine dreams if it aligns with His will. May these dreams bring clarity, conviction, and encouragement, drawing them closer to the heart of God. We ask that the Lord would guard their minds from confusion or fear, replacing any darkness with His peace (Philippians 4:7). If these dreams are meant to guide them in a specific direction, whether in their marriage, ministry, or personal walk with Christ, may they recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow Him faithfully (John 10:27).

Father, we thank You that You are a God who speaks, and that You desire to reveal Your will to Your children. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon this wife, this husband, and all who seek Your face. Give them dreams and visions that glorify Your name and align with Your Word. May they walk in wisdom, discernment, and obedience, never leaning on their own understanding but trusting in You with all their hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6). Protect them from deception, and let every dream serve to strengthen their faith and deepen their love for You.

We also pray for unity in this marriage, that the husband and wife would be of one mind, one spirit, and one purpose in Christ (Ephesians 5:31-33). May their home be a place of peace, prayer, and mutual submission to Your will. If there are any areas where they are not aligned with Your Word, whether in their thoughts, actions, or priorities, we ask that You would bring conviction and repentance, leading them into greater holiness.

Lord, we know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness, believing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). May this couple, and all who seek Your face, experience Your presence in powerful ways, whether through dreams, the still small voice of the Spirit, or the clear teaching of Your Word.

In all things, may Christ be exalted. May they fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and may every dream, vision, or revelation draw them closer to Him. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

We hear how much you want God to make His will clear to her in a way she can truly receive, and to guard her heart from fear or pride and keep her close to Him. That kind of humble, persistent prayer for a spouse is a gift in itself.

As you keep praying, we encourage you to keep the conversation open with her as well. Let her know how you are praying, ask gently what God has been putting on her heart lately, and make unhurried time to seek Him together in prayer and in His Word without pressure for a specific kind of answer. God is personal and He guides His children in many quiet ways, often through peace, through Scripture, through wise counsel, and sometimes through dreams, always in line with His truth and love. Staying attentive together and with a trusted pastor or mature believer can help you both discern what He is doing.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in coming as little children before our Father, for such is the posture of faith which our Lord loves. We thank God with you that we have a great High Priest who lives to make intercession for us, and that through His blood we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing to be done to reconcile God to sinners, for He has reconciled us unto Himself by His blood, and there is a new and living way through the veil, even the body of Christ. Glory be to God, there is a numerous company who have believed that Jesus is the Christ, and believing in Him have found life through His name.

You ask that the Lord would speak to your wife in a dream, and you rightly remember that God has in times past spoken in this manner, now one way, now another, to turn man from wrongdoing and to preserve him from the pit. We rejoice that you are fully persuaded He is able to do all things, and that nothing shall be impossible with God. Yet we would lovingly remind you how the Lord most surely guides His people now. The Psalmist said, You shall guide me with Your counsel, and that counsel is first by the general directions of His Word. The Word is the sure and settled voice of God, while dreams and visions, even when graciously given, must ever be tried by that Word. As we have fallen in the first Adam through no fault of our own, so we rise in the Second Adam through no merit of our own, and it is of free grace that we are received back into His favor and made to be as if we were perfectly just through Christ. This is not a something merely to dream about, but a justification which our spiritual senses are able to perceive.

Therefore let us pray that whether by a dream in the night, or by the still small voice of Scripture in the day, the Lord will make His will plain to your wife and to you, and give you acquiescence in the Divine will, for by that very submission we are furnished with unerring guidance. Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief, but waiting upon the Lord for guidance never puts the soul to shame. He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, able to keep His people through fire and water, through furnace and flood, and to bear them through ten thousand billows.

We pray with you now, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Mediator, look upon this husband and his wife. Guide them with Your counsel. Establish them in Your Word, keep them from pride and from the pit, and preserve them in the covenant of marriage as You have ordained. If it please You to give a dream or vision, let it be clearly from Your Spirit and in full harmony with Your written Word, to turn the heart toward Christ and toward holiness. We have received your prayer and we join with you in giving thanks that God is able to save completely those who come to Him through Christ, who lives to intercede for us, and that nothing is impossible with Him.

You have asked that God would speak to your wife in a dream, and you have rightly remembered that in Scripture God at times did speak in this way. He warned Abimelech in a dream, He directed Joseph to protect the young child and His mother, He gave visions to prophets and apostles for the sake of His redemptive plan. Those accounts show His power and His mercy to turn people from wrongdoing and to keep them from pride, and to preserve them from the pit.

We also remember that God has now spoken most fully through His Son and through the Scriptures, which are complete and sufficient to make us wise for salvation and to teach us His will in Christ Jesus. The dreams and visions given in those days served His unfolding revelation, but now we are called to hear His voice above all in His written Word, to put off the imaginings and deep slumber of this present life and to be clothed in virtue, awake and ready for the day of the Lord. This does not mean God cannot work as He pleases, for His arm is not too short to save, but it means our confidence and our guidance are to be grounded in Christ and in Scripture rather than in seeking a dream.

Therefore we pray with you not for a sign on demand, but for what is surely according to His will. We ask the Father to draw your wife and each of you more deeply to Christ, to grant repentance where it is needed, humility where there is pride, and a clear love for His Word. We pray that He would make His will known to you both through the Scriptures, through prayer, and through the faithful counsel of His people, and that He would strengthen your marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where the husband loves and leads as Christ loves the Church and the wife is honored and cherished, each belonging to the other in faithfulness.

May the Lord help you as a husband to continue to intercede for your wife, to wash her with the Word, to live with her in understanding and gentleness, and to walk before her in a godly example. May He give you both a hunger to hear Him in the pages of Scripture each day, to trust His promises, and to obey what you already know to be His will in Christ.

We pray together: Father, we thank You that You can do all things and that You desire all people to be saved through Jesus Christ alone. We ask that You work in this wife according to Your perfect wisdom and mercy. Your prayer reflects a childlike trust that honors God, and that trust is well placed. Scripture assures us that Jesus lives to intercede for those who come to God through Him and that He is able to save completely those who do, as Hebrews 7:25 and Romans 8:34 teach. You are right to confess with Job that God can do all things and that no purpose of His can be thwarted, and with the angel and with Jesus that what is impossible with people is possible with God and nothing is impossible with Him.

The passages you mention show a true pattern in how God has spoken. In both the Old and New Testaments God often spoke through dreams and through visions. A king would receive a dream with deep spiritual meaning, and God would give both the dream and its interpretation. The prophets regularly received the word of the Lord in this way, through a dream or a vision which God then explained to them to share with the people. With Moses it was different, God spoke to him directly, face to face, and promised a prophet like Moses to whom the people should listen, one who would be the mediator and speak the direct word of God. That promise points to Jesus, and the New Testament tells us that in these last days God has spoken to us by His Son. That revelation in Christ and in the written Word is complete, and we are to give the most earnest attention to what God has said through His Son, even above what was said through angels or prophets.

Because of that, some have taught that once the Scriptures were completed God would no longer speak through dreams and visions at all. Yet the prophet Joel promised that in the last days God would pour out His Spirit on all people, that sons and daughters would prophesy and old men would dream dreams and young men would see visions. Scripture shows God speaking in dreams to those who belonged to Him, like Joseph in Matthew 1 and 2, and also to those who did not yet know Him, like Abimelech and Laban and Nebuchadnezzar. He is the same yesterday and today and forever, and His arm is not too short to save.

This means we can leave room for God to work as He chooses and not put Him in a box. He makes provision to work when and how He wills, and we should give Him that allowance. At the same time, any dream or vision must be tested by the sure word of Scripture, because Scripture is the final and authoritative voice of God through His Son. The purpose God gives in Job 33 for such night speaking is also clear, to warn, to turn a person from wrongdoing and from pride, and to preserve life from the pit. That aligns with His gracious character.

If God in His wisdom does give your wife a dream, as you have asked in faith according to Mark 11:24 and Hebrews 11:6, let all the glory go to Him. Men greatly used by God, like Joseph before Pharaoh and Daniel before Nebuchadnezzar, were careful not to take credit for interpreting dreams but confessed that wisdom belongs to God in heaven who reveals mysteries. In the same way, any understanding should be received with humility and thanksgiving, giving God the credit for what He does.

Continue in prayer as Jesus Himself did. Though He is the Son of God He sought strength and guidance through prayer, how much more do we need to pray. And as you pray, surrender to the will of God. Victory comes not by insisting on our own way but by yielding our will to His, trusting His love and wisdom to do what is best.

We join you in asking the Father, in the name of Jesus, to work in your wife's heart according to His perfect will, whether through a dream in the night, through His Word, or through His Spirit speaking to her conscience, that she would be drawn closer to Christ, turned from anything that would harm her, kept from pride, and preserved in Him. We ask that whatever God does will be clearly understood through Scripture, that it will point to Jesus, and that He alone will receive the praise. Amen.
