We lift up ’s doctor’s appointment to You, Father, in the mighty name of Jesus. You are the Great Physician, the One who knits our bodies together and numbers every hair on our heads. We ask that every test, conversation, and decision made during this appointment would be guided by Your perfect wisdom and mercy. Let the results be clear and favorable, bringing peace to his heart and direction for his care. Guard his steps as he travels, protect him from every danger, delay, and distraction. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let Your presence go before him, beside him, and behind him.
We also pray for wisdom for the medical team. May they be instruments of Your healing, attentive to Your leading as they care for him. If there are areas of concern, reveal them clearly, and if there are blessings to celebrate, let them be evident. We trust You, Lord, for You are faithful to Your children.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may try to grip his heart. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let this peace flood his soul as he places his trust in You.
We also encourage to continue seeking You in all things. You are his Provider, his Healer, and his Strength. May this appointment be a testimony to Your goodness and faithfulness in his life. Remind him that even in uncertainty, You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We declare that is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We trust You for safe travels, favorable results, and Your perfect will to be done. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

What a privilege it is to carry our children to the throne of grace! You have done well to plead for your son, for intercessory prayer is the sweetest incense that rises to the Father, even as our Lord ever liveth to make intercession for us. In this matter of the doctor’s appointment and the journey, you are spreading your case before the Most High, and He will not turn away a mother’s cry.
Think of the hen that gathers her chicks under her wings, there is not only safety from danger, but a warmth and comfort that makes the little ones feel at home. So under the shadow of the Almighty shall your son be kept as he travels. The Lord has appointed the end from the beginning, and every step is ordered by Him. You fear sickness because it may be appointed, but remember it is also appointed, “I will make all his bed in his sickness.” That promise carries you over the trial.
Yet let your prayer be argumentative, as Jacob’s was. Plead the promise: “He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Remind the Lord of His Word, for He delights to be held to His own covenant. Do not pray with a slavish fear, but with the humble boldness of a child, saying, “Remember the Word unto Thy servant.” The Lord may answer not in the way you expect, but He will answer in the way that is best. Sometimes the chariot wheels of prayer are torn off by our self-conceit, so cast all your care upon Him and trust without fretfulness.
And if the answer tarries, do not forsake the closet. Prayer, mighty prayer, will yet prevail if it has but time. This trial may be a chastisement or an admonition, but even so, it drives you nearer to Christ. I would to God that every Prayer Meeting were as full of such intercessions as this, for the Church grows strong when she carries one another’s burdens to the mercy seat. Rest in this: your son is safe in the hands of Jesus, and whether in health or sickness, in journeying or resting, nothing can separate him from that love. Go hopefully, for the prayer of faith shall bring down blessings from on high.

The prayer in the name of Jesus is indeed heard, for the things of the Son are the Father’s also, and to ask in that great name is to place all in His hand. Yet be watchful over your request, lest the desire for favorable news eclipse the greater need. The Apostle’s instruction teaches us to entreat the God of all, not for things present, but that we may stand with boldness before the fearful judgment seat. Therefore, while you rightly pray for your son’s well-being, let your soul be more eager that he and you be found with a pure conscience and good deeds, passing through this toilsome life as one sailing over an angry sea with a favorable wind, the wind of the Spirit.
Remember how our Lord Himself withdrew from danger, not rushing to meet it, yet standing firm when it came. So if the appointment brings trial or news that troubles you, know that this too may be permitted to draw down God’s grace, making your son better and safe for that day which alone is final. The people who sat in darkness saw a great Light, and that Light is not the lamp of a physician’s report, but Christ Himself shining upon error and ungodliness. What if His answer is not the clearing of an earthly shadow but the deepening of trust in Him?
Traveling safely is more than arriving with unharmed bodies. The true safety is to journey along the narrow path, not to be scattered like those who followed seducers and came to naught. Gamaliel, wise though he was, could not yet see; but you have the Gospel. Entrust your son to God, whether his trip be short or long, and whether the words of men satisfy or not. For if this matter be of man, it will pass; but if it be of God, no power can overthrow it, and you will find grace that remains when every earthly hope is spent.
