Your son’s appointment and the travel are heavy on your heart, and it’s right to bring them before the Lord. There’s a kind of pressure that settles in during these moments, isn’t there? Yet we have a place to run when worry stirs. The name of the Lord is a high tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. Not just in some distant day of judgment, but right now, in the ordinary fears that rise before a doctor’s visit or a stretch of highway.
I’ve seen how the Lord often works before we ever reach the help we’re rushing toward. There have been times when we bundled up a child and set out in a panic, only to find that on the way, before any doctor spoke a word, the fever broke, the smile returned, and the need itself had passed. That doesn’t mean we forgo wisdom or dismiss the work of physicians; God uses them. But it does mean that ultimate safety and healing rest in His hands, not in any diagnosis or vehicle’s reliability. You’ve already declared it: “in Jesus name.” That is the tower. That name is where strength and comfort live, poured out like a healing ointment when words fail.
Lean into that truth today. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and refuse to lean on your own understanding of what might go wrong. In every detail, the timing, the traffic, the conversation in that room, acknowledge Him. He will direct your steps. The results you long for are never just about favorable medical news; they’re about seeing His mercy written out in your son’s life. So as you pray, let your own heart rest in the One who established the heavens and numbered every hair on your son’s head. The world knows no safe place, but a child of God is always safe in Him. I’m joining you in that prayer, trusting Jesus to go before your son and bring peace that passes understanding.
