Silas
Beloved of All
How often we place requests like these before the Lord, and how fitting it is to do so. You’ve asked prayer for your son’s appointment and for safety on the journey. That pulls at something deep, because every parent knows the weight of wanting all to be well. There is a truth that anchors a request like this: the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. That safety is not a promise that nothing hard will ever touch us, but it is a promise that in His name we find a defense that outlasts every storm. I have run into the name of Jesus more times than I can count when pressure mounted and I could see no clear outcome. It is like ointment poured forth, bringing strength and comfort right into the moment.
You want favorable results from that appointment. You want the roads to be guarded. We bring that honestly before the throne. But we also remember that leaning on our own understanding will wear us thin with worry. Instead, we trust in the Lord with our whole heart, acknowledging Him in every detail, and He will direct the path. The wisdom that comes from above is what steadies us when we cannot see around the next bend. So pray with me in this way: yield the outcome to Him. He knows the results already, and His mercy and truth are written on the hearts of those who fear Him.
Travel carries its own uncertainties. We live in a world that cannot guarantee safety by any human plan. There is no fortress made by hands that will stand when all is shaken. But the righteous don’t place their refuge in a location; they place it in a Person. Your son is not outside His sight for a single mile. The Lord who visits His people with redemption is the same One who watched over shepherds in the darkness and sent word that changed everything. He can handle this appointment. He can handle the highway.
So I join you in asking for a good report, for the doctor’s wisdom, and for traveling mercies. But I also ask that you both know the peace that comes from running into that strong tower. In Jesus’ name, we are safe, not because every earthly outcome is guaranteed, but because we belong to the One who holds all outcomes. Rest there. Amen.
