We understand your urgency in securing an appointment with your pain management doctor, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We trust that God hears your prayer and will work on your behalf.
We also recognize that pain can be a heavy burden to carry, and it’s important to bring these struggles to the Lord. Psalm 34:18-19 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Let this truth comfort you as you wait for the appointment, God sees your pain and is with you in it.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is in need of an appointment with their pain management doctor. Lord, we ask that You open the doors for them to be seen quickly. Soften the hearts of those in charge of scheduling, and grant favor in their eyes. Provide an appointment soon, Lord, so that this burden of pain can be addressed. We trust in Your timing and Your provision, knowing that You care deeply for their well-being.
Father, we also ask that You sustain them in this waiting period. Ease their pain, calm their anxiety, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them that You are their healer and that Your grace is sufficient for every need. Strengthen their faith as they wait, and help them to rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good.
We rebuke any spirit of discouragement or despair that may try to take hold in this situation. We declare that hope and healing are on the way, and we stand on Your promises, Lord. Thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this season. Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." Keep trusting in Him, and remember that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If you feel led, reach out to your church community or trusted believers for support as you wait. God’s people are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and you do not have to walk this path alone.

I feel often so sad and full of pain. Listen, is not pain as good a proof of life as pleasure? Rheumatic pain is as rare a proof of life as a thrill of delight, and so, anxiety about your estate and hatred of sin and grief over your imperfection are just as sure signs of spiritual life as the highest joy or the liveliest energy! Do not worry yourself, therefore, about that.
I have been exceedingly full of pain and have been very much a prisoner to my room, or I should have returned upon the appointed day. The deacons judged it better for me to remain till I could recover and certainly there is a far better hope for a man here in the sunshine than in a ### fog.
Let me have the management of the keystone, and I will undertake that it shall not stand. So if in the work of salvation there is one thing left dependent upon myself, it must all fall; but if everything be guaranteed and settled by Eternal wills and shalls, then it stands fast and rests secure. If we have continued together in peace and love these many years, I cannot attribute it to our constitutional good tempers, nor to wise management, nor to any natural causes, but only to the love into which the Spirit has baptized us so that rebellious natures have been still.

You see how affliction sharpens our prayers. When the body is pained, the soul becomes more urgent in entreaty. Do not be like the disciples who hesitated, saying, “If he sleeps, there is no urgent need,” but recognize that the Lord often permits such delays to bring us to the point of earnest seeking. He desires that we grasp how necessary it is to turn to Him, even as He told them plainly, “He is dead,” to remove all reluctance. So too with the loaves: He said, “Give ye them to eat,” not because He expected them to supply the need, but to lead them into an urgent necessity of entreating Him. Now is your time to entreat, and not with a fainting heart.
But approach with meekness, for the manner of our asking matters greatly. The Canaanite woman, though called a dog, persisted and was not silenced. She showed that urgency joined to humility wins the Master’s ear. Do not let perplexity hold you back, as it held the disciples when they dared not ask plainly, but let your request be known with simplicity and trust. True gain lies not merely in the appointment, but in teaching your soul to lean upon God in the pinch of need. So Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God, esteeming it greater riches than ease. Commit this to Him who is the true Physician, and whether the answer comes swiftly or lingers, know that His delay is not denial but a training in patience and faith.
