Good evening ###, I want to give prayer request for my husband ###, he has been acting weird from few weeks. Earlier we used to stay in other location but 7months back we shifted to ###. Where all my husband family stays. Problem started here. My husband keeps going to meet My mother in law ### that's not the problem but she keeps saying bad things about me to my husband he is always angry at me. So much bitterness she is filling in his mind about me. He is losing interest and love for me.Husband is asking me to take a divorce. Also I got to know my husband has an affair with another female. Please pray for my husband ###

We hear your heartache and the deep pain you are carrying in this marriage. The betrayal, the bitterness being sown, and the threat of divorce are heavy burdens to bear. We want you to know that God sees your tears and hears your cries. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s intervention and healing for your marriage.

First, we must address the sin that has entered this situation. The affair your husband is involved in is a direct violation of God’s design for marriage. Hebrews 13:4 says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." Adultery is a grievous sin, but it is not beyond God’s power to redeem. We must also confront the influence of your mother-in-law, who is sowing discord and bitterness. Proverbs 26:20 warns, "For lack of wood a fire goes out. Without gossip, a quarrel dies down." Her words are fueling division, and this must stop. We rebuke the spirit of strife and division in Jesus’ name and command it to leave this marriage.

We also want to gently remind you that divorce is not God’s desire for your marriage. In Malachi 2:16, God says, "For I hate divorce... So guard your spirit, and don’t be unfaithful." Jesus Himself reinforced this in Matthew 19:6, "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Even in the pain, we must hold fast to God’s truth and not give in to the enemy’s lies that this marriage is beyond repair. God can restore what has been broken, but it will require repentance, forgiveness, and a willingness to fight for your marriage.

We pray for your husband, that God would open his eyes to the sin in his life and soften his heart. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of the affair and the hardness of his heart toward you. In James 4:8, we are told, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." We pray that your husband would turn away from this sin and seek God’s forgiveness. We also pray for your mother-in-law, that God would reveal to her the damage she is causing and lead her to repentance. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." May God give you the strength to respond with grace even in the face of her bitterness.

We pray for you as well, that God would give you the strength to endure this trial with faith and hope. In 1 Peter 5:10, we are promised, "But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you." You may feel weak, but God’s power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We pray that you would find your refuge in Him and that He would fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Find a pastor, a trusted Christian mentor, or a biblical counselor who can walk with you through this difficult season. You do not have to face this alone. We also encourage you to fast and pray for your husband and your marriage. In Mark 9:29, Jesus tells us that some battles are only won through prayer and fasting.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation and bring healing where there is brokenness. We pray for this husband, that You would open his eyes to the sin in his life and soften his heart toward his wife. Convict him of the affair, Lord, and lead him to repentance. We rebuke the spirit of adultery and unfaithfulness in Jesus’ name and command it to leave this marriage.

Father, we also pray for the mother-in-law, that You would reveal to her the damage she is causing and lead her to repentance. Remove the bitterness and strife from her heart, and replace it with Your love and peace. We pray for this wife, Lord, that You would give her strength to endure this trial with faith and hope. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her find her refuge in You.

Lord, we know that nothing is impossible for You. We ask that You would restore this marriage and make it a testimony of Your grace and mercy. Help this couple to forgive one another and to rebuild their relationship on the foundation of Your Word. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're holding you and your husband in prayer, and we won't pretend your situation is anything but deeply painful. When infidelity and the steady drip of bitterness surround a marriage, it’s disorienting and exhausting, especially when the one who should be closest to you is pulling away and speaking of divorce. Please know you are not alone, and you don't have to carry this weight by yourself.

What you've described about your mother-in-law stirring up anger and distrust rings true to how bitterness can quietly take hold. It often spreads through a family, feeding resentment and hardening hearts. That doesn't excuse your husband’s choices, the affair and his push for divorce are his own, but it might help you see how confusion and outside poison can erode a marriage. For now, your most urgent need is not to fix him, but to find steady ground for yourself while you navigate what’s ahead.

A practical next step we'd encourage is to reach out to a trusted, mature Christian woman, maybe a pastor’s wife, a small-group leader, or a godly counselor, who can listen, pray with you consistently, and help you think through your next steps with clarity and wisdom. You need safe, confidential space to grieve what's happening and to seek God's direction without isolation. This is not disloyalty to your husband; it's wisdom. You are not meant to absorb this alone.

We also gently remind you to guard your own heart from bitterness. It can slip in quietly, especially when you've been wronged. Surrendering the hurt to God, not overnight, but bit by bit, can keep your spirit from being consumed by what others have done.

Let’s pray:
Father, we lift up this sister right now. You see her husband and the turmoil in his heart, the pull of an affair, the anger fueled by a bitter mother, and the confusion that has made him speak of divorce. We ask for Your mercy: break through the deception and soften his heart to truth. Protect this daughter of Yours; give her courage to take wise steps and peace amid the chaos. Surround her with steady, truth-filled support, and let her know deep in her bones that she is not forsaken. We entrust this marriage to You, with no formula but with hope that You can redeem what seems shattered. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The dark cloud has crept right into your marriage chamber, hasn’t it? A few weeks ago everything felt settled, and now the man you trusted is angry, distant, and speaking that cold word “divorce.” On top of it all, you have learned of another woman, and a mother’s bitter words have been pouring poison into his ears. This is a tempest that would make any heart sink. But I want you to lift your eyes from the churning water and fix them on the Lord Jesus, for He is very near to the broken in heart.

Think for a moment of poor Peter. He was one of Christ’s own disciples, yet in a single night the enemy sifted him like wheat, and he fell so low that he cursed and denied his Master while the rooster crowed. What snatched him back from ruin? Not a long argument, not a sharp rebuke, just a look. The Lord turned and looked upon Peter, and that glance broke his heart and started the healing. Dear sister, the same Jesus can turn and look upon your husband. No spell of a mother’s bitterness, no snare of a forbidden embrace, can stand against one glance from those eyes of pity and power. We may not command that look, but we can cry to the Lord for it. Plead with Him to turn His face toward your husband, even this very night, and let the light of His countenance pierce the darkness that has gathered around him.

While another’s love has proven frail, there is a Love that never wavers. Jesus Christ bound Himself to His people with an everlasting covenant before the stars were kindled. He loved you then, He loves you now, and He will love you to the end. Let that truth fall on your heart like a father’s hand in the dark. You are not alone in this trial. Even this present sifting, though Satan means it for bitter harm, is being overruled by the hand that works all things for good. The evil one is, after all, only a dishwasher in God’s kitchen, scouring His vessels until they shine. Your tears are seen, and your prayers are heard.

And oh, the power of prayer! The Lord says, “They shall be as though I had not cast them aside.” If God has planted in you a desire to pray for your husband still, that is a sure token that mercy is on the way. Dry bones can live again when the Spirit breathes upon them. Your marriage, which now looks like a valley of scattered bones, may yet rise and stand as a testimony to restoring grace. Keep looking to Jesus for yourself, and keep lifting your husband before the throne. One day soon, that dear man may look upon the very Christ he has neglected, and then he will mourn for his sin as one mourns for an only son, and God will make all things new.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You turned and looked upon Peter and broke his heart into repentance; look now upon this husband who has wandered into anger and unfaithfulness. Where a mother’s words have sown bitterness, let Your gentleness bring up a harvest of love. Where another face has drawn his eyes, let the beauty of Your holiness make all sin grow tasteless and sad. Comfort this dear wife, bind up her wounded heart, and give her the quiet confidence of a child who trusts her Father in the storm. Restore what the locust has eaten, and let this home yet ring with songs of deliverance, for Your name’s sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
