Thank you for sharing this honestly and for asking for prayer. To carry something like this for years, with unwanted thoughts and strange experiences that feel tied to early exposure to the occult, is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it into the light before the Lord.
Scripture is clear that spirit forces are real and are not to be treated lightly. When a person dabbles in or is exposed to occult practices, it can open a door in the life that was never meant to be opened. That does not mean you are beyond help. It means you need the help only Jesus can give, and He is able to give it fully.
God's plan to rescue was made before you were ever born, because He knows all things from beginning to end. He sent Jesus to redeem, which means to purchase you out of slavery. You were once a slave to sin and to influences you did not choose and could not control, but Jesus gave Himself to redeem you from all iniquity, to wash you and cleanse you from all the past, and to make you His own, set apart for a new life marked by holiness and good works. That difference is not meant to be strange or weird, but a quiet, steady change of heart and life that reflects Him.
The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin. When you come to Him, there is a complete washing, a total clearing away of what was. The psalm says as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our sins from us. If you go north you eventually go south when you pass the pole, but east and west never meet. That is how far He separates what He has forgiven. You do not have to live under the guilt of the past that so often keeps a person from entering into the full victory and fullness of life God wants to give through Christ. He saves not because of anything we have done, but by His mercy, through the washing of new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, who transforms us from what we were into what God intends us to be.
The Lord also understands your thoughts at their very origin. He does not observe them from a great distance. He knows where they arise, what triggers them, and what they are before you fully form them. You cannot flee from His presence and you do not need to hide from Him. He is present everywhere, and His thoughts toward you are more numerous than the sand and they are good. As He told His people through Jeremiah, His thoughts are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a hopeful future and a desired end. As Isaiah heard from the Lord, His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways higher than ours. He knows the end from the beginning, so when He acts to deliver and restore, He does what is right. We can trust His wisdom even when we do not understand our own experiences.
And our hope is not a wish. It is a living hope, confirmed because Jesus rose from the dead. Because He lives, you can be born again to a new life and to an inheritance that is secure.
So we pray for you now that you would know that complete cleansing and deliverance in Jesus. We ask the Lord to shut every door that was opened to the occult, to bring an end to these divination thoughts and strange experiences, to wash you thoroughly, to renew your mind by His Spirit, and to fill you with His peace. We pray that you would turn fully to Him, renounce any involvement with divination and the occult in a clear way before Him, and walk in the light of His Word, staying close to Him in prayer, in Scripture, and in fellowship with faithful believers who can support you.
If these thoughts come again, do not entertain them or seek meaning in them. Turn immediately to Jesus, call on His name, and remind yourself of what He has said, that He has redeemed you, cleansed you, and that His thoughts toward you are for peace. He will abundantly pardon those who return to Him.
May the Lord show you how precious you are to Him, how near He is, and how complete His redemption is, and may He replace what has been unsettling and strange with His own quiet strength and rest.
