Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes, and we ask you to forgive us when we lied or misinterpreted something.
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name, amen

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, acknowledging that dishonesty is a grievous sin that wounds the heart of our Heavenly Father. The Bible clearly warns us in Proverbs 12:22, "Yahweh detests lying lips, but he delights in those who are truthful." The very nature of God is truth, and Jesus declared in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

We recognize that lies and deception have caused deep pain in this situation, and we take a firm stand against the spirit of dishonesty that has taken root. The Word of God tells us in Ephesians 4:25, "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another." We must not tolerate deceit in our lives or in the lives of those around us, for it destroys trust and brings destruction.

We pray for those involved in this situation, particularly the landlord's team, lawyers, and legal representatives. Father, we ask that You soften their hearts and convict them of their sin. In John 16:8, Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit "will convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment." We pray that the Holy Spirit would do a mighty work in their lives, breaking down the resistance to dishonesty and building up a desire for truth. May they come to know the freedom that comes from living a life of integrity, as Jesus promised in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

We also pray for ourselves, that we would not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). It is easy to become discouraged when faced with injustice, but we must remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19). We must continue to show patience and kindness, even to those who have wronged us, as we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).

Father, we surrender this situation to You, trusting that You will bring justice and truth to light. We dedicate our lives to You and ask that You help us to walk in honesty and integrity, reflecting Your character in all that we do. We pray that those who have been dishonest would repent and turn from their wicked ways, seeking Your forgiveness and grace.

Lord, we ask that You would protect us from the consequences of lies and deception. We pray that You would expose the truth and bring an end to the schemes of the enemy. We stand on Your promise in Proverbs 19:9, "A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall perish."

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We see the heart in your prayer, and it moves us. You aren’t simply asking God to stop the trouble or fix the other side, you’re asking Him to restore something in people who have used dishonesty as a weapon, and you’re also humbly examining your own words before Him. That’s real grace at work in you.

It’s easy to pray for someone’s change because we want relief. But your prayer goes further: you’re asking God to rebuild their resistance to lying, to open their eyes to the freedom that truth brings. That’s the love Jesus plants in us, and it doesn’t come naturally, so we’re encouraged by what we see in what you’ve written.

One simple way to carry this forward is to keep a small list of the people involved, just first names if that’s all you have, and use it as a quiet, private guide. Not a list of grievances to rehash, but a roll call of people you are consistently entrusting to the God who sees everything. As you pray over those names, the Holy Spirit may also show you moments to speak a calm, truthful word that reflects Jesus rather than the conflict.

And we hear the honesty in your own admission: we all know how easy it is to shade the truth. Keep that tender self-awareness, and let God’s forgiveness keep resentment from taking root in your soul while you wait for justice to unfold.

Father, thank you that nothing is hidden from You, and that Your Spirit persistently draws people toward what is true. Strengthen this dear praying friend to keep walking in integrity and peace. For those who have leaned on lies, we ask that You would gently rebuild their resistance to dishonesty, until wanting the truth becomes as natural to them as breathing. Guard everyone involved, bring about what is right, and shine Your light into every corner. In Jesus’ name, amen.

True prayer ascends from a heart that knows its own deceit. You ask forgiveness for lies, and that is well, for the Lord is ready to pardon. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. Yet take heed that your repentance be not of that hollow sort which troubles men for a season and then vanishes like the morning mist. True repentance is a leaving of the sin, a loathing of it, and a clinging to Christ alone for cleansing. If your repentance has led you to the cross, to the blood that speaketh better things than that of Abel, then go in peace; your transgression is covered. The Lord says, “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake.” That is a divine deed, surprising in its completeness, and it is yours the moment you rest in Jesus.

But you have also prayed for those who have wronged you, the landlord’s team, the lawyers, the legal representatives. Here your heart shows a gracious fruit of the forgiveness you have received. It is no small thing to suffer hardship and yet maintain patience and kindness. This is the very genius of the Gospel: “Forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness, so much outward sin blotted out, that to forgive others should be as natural as to open our hands. Continue in that kindness, for it is a mark of the Spirit’s work in you.

Yet concerning your prayer that God would “build up their resistance to dishonesty,” I must speak plainly. You have touched upon a solemn truth: judgments, even terrible ones, do not in themselves produce a true and saving repentance. Men may be lashed by the consequences of their lies and yet only grow harder in heart, like Pharaoh who confessed his sin under the hail and thunder, but when the storm ceased, returned to his rebellion. A repentance that is merely the fruit of terror or self-interest is not the repentance unto life. You ask that their eyes be opened to the truth that it may set them free. That is a petition after a nobler sort. Pray rather that the Holy Spirit would break their stony hearts, that they might see their sin as against a holy God, and so flee to Christ. Only a sight of the Crucified One can melt the adamant. True repentance is born where faith is cradled; it is a tear that glistens with hope in the Saviour’s finished work. Pray that they might not merely become honest citizens, but that they might become new creatures in Christ Jesus, for without that, their resistance to one vice may leave room for seven others more wicked.

And for yourself, watch daily. Repentance is not a single act, but a lifelong grace. As long as I live, I have need to wash my feet, for I am a man of unclean lips. Sweet sister Repentance is charming company, and we shall not part with her even at the gates of pearl. Her presence keeps the heart tender and the walk upright. Let the goodness of God lead you to this evangelical repentance, and may your forgiveness of others be a daily echo of the eternal absolution you have received. There is forgiveness, always forgiveness, for all comers to the cross. Go and sin no more.
