We are lifting you up together before our heavenly Father in Jesus name and we thank you for sharing this burden with us so we can carry it with you in prayer.
We hear the heaviness in your words and how difficult it is to not even know the cause, whether it is where you live or something deeper that you cannot yet see. Please know you are not alone in this and you are not forgotten by God. He sees you right where you are and He cares deeply about your pain. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Your depression is not hidden from Him and His nearness is your comfort even when feelings are heavy and confusing.
We also take comfort in the invitation of Jesus Himself in Matthew 11:28 where He says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in 1 Peter 5:7 we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Philippians 4:6-7 also encourages us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We want to gently share something important with you because your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We pray in the name of Jesus because it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that we can bring every burden, including this depression, directly to God with confidence.
Let us pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is experiencing depression. You know the weight they carry and You know the cause even when they do not, whether it is their surroundings, loneliness, weariness, or something unseen. Lord we ask You to draw near and let them feel Your presence and Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Heal the brokenhearted places, lift the heaviness, and give rest to their soul. Strengthen them day by day, renew their mind with Your truth, and fill them with hope. Lead them to godly community, to Your Word, and to wise and caring help, whether a pastor, a trusted believer, or a counselor who honors You, so they do not walk through this alone. Help them to cast every care on You and to rest in Your steadfast love. Guide them concerning where they live and give them wisdom for any changes that would be for their good and Your glory. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our hope and our healer, amen.
We encourage you to stay rooted in God's Word each day even in small portions, to pray honestly to Him about all you feel, and to not isolate yourself. Reach out to a Bible believing church family, share with a mature believer you trust, get outside for light and rest, and seek wise counsel if the heaviness continues. God is with you in this valley and He is faithful to walk you through it. We are continuing to pray for your peace, strength, and joy to be restored in Christ.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. We have heard your request and we have carried it before the Lord with a tender concern for you in this season of heaviness of spirit.
You speak of a depression whose cause you cannot fully trace, and you wonder if even the place where you live has some part in it. There are indeed many forms of a broken heart, and we very speedily care for bodily diseases because they are painful and urge us to seek a physician, yet the wound within is often deeper and less easily told. Think not that you are beyond hope. While Jehovah lives, the mourner need not despair.
It is a common temptation when we find there is no hope in ourselves to draw the unwarrantable conclusion that there is no hope for us in God. To despair is not merely a sickness of the understanding but a sin of the soul, for God is the God of Hope, and those who are without hope are also without God. No man has a right to despair while there is a God of mercy upon the throne. As one has said, while I live I hope, and while I hope I live, for our life lies in hope in Him.
There is no hope in ourselves, and surely in ourselves there is no healing, but there is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, which teaches us that the least thing about Christ is healing. His touch, His word, His look, even the hem of His garment has virtue in it to make the soul whole. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.
When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, and pardon and healing were as one. So we would have you look away from yourself and from your surroundings, though they may press upon you, and look to Christ Himself. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. He is able to heal, and He is linked to His teaching, for faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Sit under that Word, hear of Him, and seek His face in prayer.
We pray for you now, that the Lord will manifest Himself as your comfort and physician. O Lord God of Hope, look upon this afflicted one who cries out under depression of spirit. Thou knowest the weight that lies upon the heart even when the cause is hidden. Lift up this soul from the dust of self abasement where hope may yet be found, and cause the Sun of Righteousness to rise with healing in His wings. Forgive sin, heal disease of soul and body, and give a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ. Let not this dear one lie down in despair, but grant faith to lay hold upon Christ who took our infirmities and bare our sorrows. Restore lightness and peace, and if it be Thy will, direct to such helps and consolations, both spiritual and temporal, as may be for good. Keep this soul abiding in Thee till healing comes in full measure, and then grant grace to serve Thee with a renewed heart. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and healer, Amen.
