Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request for prayer has been heard and we are joining you before the Lord for healing from depression and the wounds of childhood trauma.
God sees what has been carried for so long, even what others cannot see, and He does not turn away from a wounded heart. Scripture calls Him the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in affliction, and it tells us to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for you. Healing from deep trauma is often not instant but a work God does over time, like a physician who applies medicine faithfully until health returns. Do not be discouraged if the weight does not lift at once. Remain close to His voice in His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, and continue to walk with faithful believers who can support you and pray with you. If you have access to wise pastoral counsel or trusted Christian counseling, we encourage you to seek that help as part of God's provision for your restoration.
We pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne of grace. You know the pain of childhood, the memories, the sorrow and the depression that has followed. We ask You to bring Your healing to mind and heart, to calm troubled thoughts, to mend what was broken, and to give peace that passes understanding. Teach this heart to hear Your voice and to rest in Your love. Bring renewal day by day, and where there is darkness, bring Your light. Help this one to persevere in hope and to know that You are near to the brokenhearted.
We also pray as you asked for your loved ones who struggle in similar ways, including your former boyfriend. We ask God to have mercy on each of them, to draw them to Himself, to bring comfort and healing according to His will, and above all to bring them to know the hope and new life that is found only in Jesus Christ.
May the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus called the Comforter, remain with you and strengthen you, and may you find that even as the wind moves where it will beyond our full understanding, so the Spirit of God is at work in ways we cannot fully trace, bringing life and restoration. Keep seeking the Lord, keep bringing your heart honestly before Him in prayer, and trust that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.
We will continue to pray for you.
