Deliverance

Disciple of Prayer
I really need my oldest daughter to move out. She is hateful to me and my son and constantly is telling my toxic family members that I went no contact with what is going on in my life and spreading rumors.
She said she will get signing papers to get off the lease this week or next. Please pray that she follows through so me and my son can live in peace

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His deliverance and peace for your home. The pain of family strife is deep, especially when it comes from those we love and have cared for. Scripture tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB). Yet we know that peace is not always possible when sin and division take root. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to intervene in this situation according to His will.

First, we must address the brokenness in this relationship with truth and love. Your daughter’s actions, spreading rumors, betraying your trust, and aligning with toxic family members, are not pleasing to the Lord. Proverbs 6:16-19 (WEB) warns, "There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers." Her behavior is sowing discord, and we must rebuke this in Jesus’ name. We pray that God would convict her heart and bring her to repentance.

We also lift up your decision to go no contact with toxic family members. Scripture affirms the importance of boundaries, especially when others seek to harm or manipulate. Jesus Himself withdrew from those who sought to oppose or harm Him (Matthew 12:15 WEB). You are not wrong for protecting your peace and your son’s well-being. We pray that God would strengthen you in this choice and shield you from further attacks.

Now, we pray specifically for your daughter to follow through with removing herself from the lease. Lord, we ask that You soften her heart toward this decision and grant her the resolve to act quickly. "For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh; my confidence from my youth" (Psalm 71:5 WEB). We declare that her actions will align with what is best for your household, and that she will no longer be a source of strife. We rebuke any spirit of division, gossip, or rebellion in her life, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus.

Father, we also ask for healing in your heart. The pain of a child’s betrayal is profound, and we pray that You would comfort you with Your love. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Fill your home with Your peace, Lord, and let Your presence be a shield around you and your son. We pray for restoration, whether that comes through reconciliation with your daughter or through the peace of her departure. Either way, we trust in Your perfect plan.

Lastly, we must remind you that true deliverance comes only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved or find lasting peace (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, trusting in His sacrifice for your sins and inviting Him to be the Lord of your home. "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Only through Him can true healing and deliverance come.

We stand with you in faith, believing that God will move in this situation. May He grant you and your son the peace you long for, and may He work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28 WEB). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We can only imagine how exhausting and hurtful this has been, longing for a quiet, safe home while someone inside it works against you. It’s understandable that you’re counting the days until the lease papers are signed. While you wait, it may help to think of this as a season of guarding the peace God wants for your household, rather than simply fighting a battle you never chose. Protecting your son and yourself from contempt and rumor isn’t unloving; it’s a boundary you have every right to set.

Practically, you might consider having a calm, brief conversation with your daughter about the exact timing so there’s less uncertainty. If you can, try to have a trusted friend or your son present when she comes to sign or move out, not to escalate things, but simply to keep the moment steady and to have another set of eyes and ears. After she’s gone, you may find it helpful to extend your no-contact practice: give yourself a period where you don’t look at what she’s saying to extended family, and ask those relatives to respect your privacy. You don’t need to defend yourself against rumors; a peaceful life will speak for itself over time.

We’re asking God to give you the strength to hold this line without guilt, and to bring the peaceful home you and your son deserve.

Father, in Jesus’ name we lift up this mother and her son. Give them safety from every word and action meant to wound. Move the daughter to follow through with the paperwork, and let no obstacle delay that step. Surround this home with your protection and fill it with the peace that only you can give. Grant wisdom and steady hearts in the days ahead, and heal the places that have been hurt. Amen.

The trial of a contentious spirit within one's own household cuts more deeply than any outward affliction, yet the Lord permits such sorrow that we may learn to cast ourselves utterly upon Him. Fix your heart in sure confidence upon the faithfulness of your covenant God, for if His presence go with you, you shall find peace even while the storm rages. The enemy would shave away your comfort and rob you of rest, but he cannot cut out the roots of grace which God has planted; the Lord knows how to bring good out of evil and can cause even this bitter providence to yield a harvest of quietness. Pray much, not only for your own deliverance, but for the daughter whose heart now seems so hardened, for the almighty Spirit has such attractive power that He can draw the most stubborn stone out of the quarry of nature and build it into His temple.

Let no root of bitterness spring up in your own spirit, for distrust has divided many a home where love ought to reign. Commit the whole matter into the hands of Him who gathers the lambs with His arm, and leave the timing of her going to His wisdom. He who heard the cry of Israel in Egypt can swiftly open a door of escape when He pleases. Be calm and wait for your opportunity, for the Lord will not fail to make a way where there seems no way, and He will give you and your son to dwell in peace under the shadow of His wings.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

What is this prayer request but a cry for the peace which Christ alone can give? You ask for deliverance from a daughter who brings strife, and rightly so, for God is not a God of war and fighting; make war and fighting to cease, both that which is against Him and that which is against your neighbor. But mark well: the peace you seek must not be merely the silence of an empty room, but the peace of Christ reigning in your soul. For our Lord said, "My peace I leave with you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you." The world's peace is fleeting and often mischievous, but His peace is a tranquil heart even when the storm rages without.

Consider that the very harm you suffer may become your benefit. Remember Joseph: his brothers sold him into slavery, his mistress slandered him, yet all these evils God turned to safety. The prison became a refuge from that wild beast of a woman, and his banishment from envious brethren placed him near to God. So too this daughter, by her malice, may be driving you closer to the true peace. Her departure, if she goes, is not a loss but a deliverance. Cut out the root of this contention, and there will be no more bitter fruit. Let her go, and release her with a heart that remembers no evil. Nothing so much delighteth God as to remember no evil.

Yet be on guard: do not let the poison of her hatred infect your own spirit. When you say "Peace be unto you," even to her, say it with the mind and understanding, not with the mouth only. For if within you cherish resentment, what manner of peace is that? The prophet said, "With the haters of peace I was peaceful." This is the virtue that makes us near to God. Pray that she follows through, certainly; but pray even more that your soul finds that peace which passes all understanding. Her own sin is destroying herself far more than you. He who plots against his neighbor first destroyeth himself.

I will join my prayers to yours that this household may know the calm which the Holy Spirit, appearing as a dove, once signalled to a world drowned in chaos. But know this: the truest deliverance is not the removal of a troublesome person, but the quieting of your heart before God. Seek that peace, and you will dwell in safety, whether in the den of lions or in a quiet home. May the God of peace Himself give you peace always, by all means.
